  1. Very impressive accomplishment for Jaron! All we need is a few more big TD's next week from him and that should cap off this memorable season in style. And BTW, I have heard virtually no talk about Jaron's recruitment. With the talent he has, the school he attends, the numbers he's put up this year, the grades he gets, and the overall character of the young man I can't believe numerous schools aren't lining up for his services. Can my fellow Alcoa fans enlighten me on any major looks or offers he's received?

  3. Loudon may have gotten better but if history serves correct, which it actually did earlier this year, Loudon won't be able to score on Alcoa. I've never seen Loudon have much o a passing game , and when you're playing Alcoa and you don't have the speed to match you're going to have to have somewhat of a passing game to have a chance...I don't see Alcoa being shutout so i'll go with 31-0 Alcoa.
  4. That's pretty accuarte Ron, IMO. Howver, I believe we could beat Ensworth, but if we were to play ten times I believe they would take us more times then we'd take them. Also, if we were to play MUS ten times I think they would also take us more, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if we won one or two.
  5. That's not always that easy when we have two of the finer DE's this side of the state has to offer
  6. Then, heck, let's give it to the whole O-line! ILuvsports: You're right. I can't count the # of times I thought he had been tackled just to see him running down the field. No doubt Alcoa has best O-line in state. Well coached, disciplined, big, and nasty. The guys you have up front are awesome. How many come back next year? We return 2 starters on that O-line. Derek Evans, a junior, is probably our best lineman. He's about 6'2 270 and is a great guard. He'll probably get some big time looks next year. Our other returner will be J.T. Rankin, a sophmore, at center. He's started every game this season at center and has done an admirable job! We may be losing 4 key offensive lineman after this year, but these 2 will be a good foundation to build on for next year.
  7. we all know trob is headin to lexington but where are some of our other seniors getting looks from or interest from college coaches?
  8. An Alcoa sweep... Jaron Toney- Back Tyler Robinson- Lineman
  9. Tyler Robinson- DE/TE (Alcoa) Taharin Tyson- FB (Alcoa) Darrell Warren- DE (Alcoa) Jaron Toney- RB (Alcoa) Darian Stone- QB (Clinton) Weston Hazelhurst- RB/LB (Clinton) Devrin Young- RB (Bearden) Sisco Carter- DB (Bearden) DeVante Hawikns- LB (Austin-East) Lee Van Dyne- WR (Farragut) Reese Browning- QB (Farragut) DeAndre Purdy- RB (Farragut) Dorian Cozart- RB (Catholic) Zak Tait- OT (Catholic) Tyler Williamson- QB/S (Catholic) Tee Howell- QB (Morristown West) Sensabaugh- RB (Dobyns Bennett) Phillip Juhlin- QB (Maryville) Shannon Meady- RB (Carter)
  10. I think Jaron and Darrel showed us last night that they should be playing D-1 ball in the future.
  11. WR is looking more and more promising for this next year. We all know what T-Rob can do, I've heard that Isom has turned the heads of some D-1 coaches, I've heard from a good source that Barnes is already getting some serious D-1 looks already add in Jared Jett and you've got four receivers all over 6'3 that are pretty darn good, add in a talented LaJuan Warfield, the great hands of Daniel Robinson, and the very young, but talented freshman Kenny Dean, (who I've heard is close to 6'2), and we should have a very talented, and DEEP, receiving corp.
  12. Alcoa's left tackle, Marcel Walden, is about 6'4, 285 and is very good, I'm sure he can hold his own against Mr. Stiles.
  13. What's everyone's thoughts on the starting lineup? QB-Tallent, RB-Toney, FB-Tyson, WR-Isom, WR-Warfield?, TE-Robinson, OL- Walden, Evans, Rankin, Marsh, and ? DE-Warren, Robinson, DT-Kerr, Burchfield, LB-N. Robinson, Herbert, Chapman?, ? CB-Toney, Hambrick, S-Tallent No clue on a kicker or a punter
  14. Brandon will be a junior on the field this upcoming season
  15. Heard rumors of a QB transfer, a big RB transfer, and a huge O-lineman from Catholic transferring into Alcoa. Any truth to this?
  16. Seniors: Sam Thompson- Offers from Army, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Dartmouth, Cornell, Furman, Wofford, Chattanooga, Elon, and I'm sure a few others, gotten interest from Ohio, MTSU, Navy, Stanford, and Vanderbilt, and I'm also sure a few others Chase James- Offer from Bethel, gotten interest from Austin Peay, MTSU, and Marshall Jeff Hickman, Adrian Womac, and Cameron Foster could be playing on Saturdays next fall Juniors: Tyler Robinson- Getting interest from many schools nationwide including Tennessee, Alabama, Cincinnati, Clemson, Nebraska, Duke, Kentucky, Auburn, plus many many others Jaron Toney- should be getting plenty of interest, I believe has D-1 potential Marcel Walden, Dee Herbert, Justin Marsh, plus a few others have the ability to play college ball as well
  17. I have heard that Crenshaw may be heading to Fulton. Koko's situation is more of a family matter that I have heard about, that I don't believe should be discussed on here. I heard this info about a month or so ago so things might've possibly changed,
  18. James, Thompson, Tyson, T. Robinson, Walden, Evans, Marsh, Womac, N. Robinson, Hickman
  19. Congartulations to Sam, Chase, Jeff, Adrian, Connor, Jalik, Cameron, A.J., Daniel, Jesse, Ben, and Hayes. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors! Does anyone know, if any of these young men plan on continuing there football careers and where at?
  20. I believe that he did not have the grades and is no longer at Alcoa.
  21. QB- I think Tallant is a shoe-in. I've heard from a reliable source that he probably would've beaten Chase out this year if not for Chase being a senior and Tallant getting injured in pre-season. Also heard that he threw 5 TD's in a scrimmage (Oak Ridge maybe). I think we're set at this position. Starter: Tallant Reserve: Sharpe, Hartley RB- Jaron Toney is solid and is developing into one of the better backs in east Tennessee. He has amazing speed, agility, character, and strength. Vee Hambrick will be great, and I think he'll just keep showing that potential next year. Darryl Warren, IMO, is a solid back, but I think his talents should be showcased elsewhere on offense. Also, don't be surprised if rising freshmen Ezekial Koko and Jarod Crenshaw make an impact. Koko is an ultra-talented physical specimen, and Crenshaw is a load. However, I've heard rumors that neither may be at Alcoa next fall. Starter: Toney Reserve: Hambrick FB- Taharin will more than likely be the best fullback in the state the next two years....enough said. Dee Herbert may get some carries, but I think sophmore Austin Chapman will be the leading canidate to step in when Taharin needs a break. Starter: Tyson Reserve: Chapman WR- IMO, our biggest ?, well maybe besides special teams. I think Isom looked very good towards the end of the year, and should definitely be our leader from this position. D. Robinson has displayed a good set of hands, and I think he can develop into a solid possession receiver. Rudd and Rockymore have shown athleticism, but can they show dependable sets of hands? Jett has shown me good hands and size, but he has hardly no game experience. I've heard nothing but good things about freshmen Chaz Vesser and LaJuan Warfield, I think they can lend us a big hand. And finally DarryL Warren should be moved to receiver. Imagine a CB lined up across from the ever-physical, 6'2, 215 lb. Warren. He's got good enough speed and athleticism, and would be an absolute matchup nightmare....just a thought though. Starters: Isom, D. Robinson Reserves: Rockymore, Rudd, Jett, Vesser, Warfield, Warren?? TE- We have the best TE in the state, I don't care what anybody says Starter: T. Robison Reserve: J. Cooper OL- Should be one of the biggest O-line's the Tornadoes have put on the field in recent years. Walden is going at about 6'4, 280 and still has another year left, Evans is just a sophmore and he's gotta be around 6'3, 260, and Hopkey is our biggest lineman since Martin White at around 310. Justin Marsh will be bringing back 2 years of starting experience to our talented O-line as well. Losing Connor's leadership could hurt, but I believe J.T. Rankin will fill in just fine. Stephens and Mangum will see considerable time as well. Starters: Walden, Evans, Rankin, Marsh, Hopkey Reserves: Stephens, Mangum, Burchfield, Midkiff, Sudderth DL- Tyler will be Tyler, only a lot better next year I'm sure. Darryl's motor, athleticism, and tenacity reminds me more and more like that other Warren they played at Alcoa from the DE position everytime I see him, I think his future is there. Darwin Kerr has given us 2 years of starting experience and should have a fine senior season. Jon Burchfield is huge, he should plug up the middle admirably. Jonivan Henry and Joe Cooper will be counted on to give Tyler and Darryl breaks, and I believe they'll do so sufficiently. Unless, we start developing some other DT's, we may very well be thin at that position next year, but apparently Derek and Marcel may see some time there according to Iluvsports. Tyler McGlothlin is pretty special from what I've heard. Starters: Warren, Burchfield, Kerr, Robinson Reserves: Henry, Evans?, Walden?, McGlothlin, Cooper LB- Return a lot of experience, speed, and skill. Veterans Dee Herbert and Nathaniel Robinson will be counted on heavily, and I expect big years out of them from their posts at the Sam and Will backers. I believe that Austin Chapman will get the nod in the middle next year. Is it just me or does he remind anyone else of Bart Hicks? Everytime I've seen him in he's always around the ball, and when he wraps someone up they go down. Georgio Coffin and Tahrin will be counted on to provide back-up. Starters: Herbert, Chapman, N. Robinson Reserves: Coffin and Tyson DB- Jaron will be a solid corner for us next year, and I believe D. Robinson and Hambrick will duke it out for the other corner spot. Isom should have one safety spot down after seeing starting time there this past season, and Tallant will be a great free safety, kind of in the mold of Johnathan Meschendorf. Logan Sharpe may also see some time at safety, but besides these guys I haven't really seen much more as far as potential canidates for this position. Starters: Toney, Hambrick, Isom, Tallant Reserves: D.Robinson, Sharpe, Rudd?, Rockymore? Special Teams- Yikes!!! I don't see 3A slowing this team down, I believe we'll be holding up that 6th gold ball in a row this time next year.
  22. Great job Tornaadoes!!! First and foremost, our D played amazing as always!!! Did Milan even get 100 yds.? We may be undersized at a lot of positions but they are just so physical and quick to the ball. Jaron played a great game. Yes, he was struck hard a few times by Williamson, but he also juked him out of his shoes on a couple runs. For some reason Chase was underthrowing everything, but definitely made up for it with a great punt return and solid safety play. Tyler and Sam were pretty much non-existent except for a few catches on offense. Offensive line played solid. Milan had a good D. Williamson was an absolute beast at linebacker, the offers should come pouring in for him. Coleman will be a great DE as well. Can't say that I was too impressed with Gilbert. FBE, when were we throwing it deep when the game wasn't in hand, and what was the score when this happened? I was very impressed with Milan's fan turnout, great support!
  23. Thanks for the support korn! The match-up that I'm really looking for tonight is when Mr. Robinson breaks free and some of these highly vaunted Milan defenders such as Williamson and Coleman are in his path. That might be quite a collision.
