  1. Well you guys up there are pretty good at the runner-up thing I hear, and Covington's got something to prove....good luck to you all, cause you will need it.
  2. Hope Covington plucks those Falcon feathers and rubs them in your face! It would be wonderful to see a great team finish 2nd again!!!!!
  3. Uh, in a nutshell, yeah, that's right. We are supposed to lose, but we are too stupid to believe what anybody else says about us. That might not be a bad thing......
  4. For some of you who don't know why some of us use HIT SOMEBODY, HIT ANYBODY, HIT EVERYBODY, a few of us have been to Nashville Predators games this year (we yell just as loud there as at MC games) and we thought that was one of the best chants that "Cellblock 303" uses to get into the heads of opponents. It's usually followed up by a player's name. It worked last week....Michael Wilmore was held to 58 yards on 20 carries.....seems the defense always makes a big play when we bring that chant out.....
  5. Attaboy, Russ, you got it right! HIT SOMEBODY, HIT ANYBODY, HIT EVERYBODY!!!!!
  6. To Mr. Scholar: What happens when an object hits another object that doesn't give? Answer: bad things. Falcon at full speed multiplied by Tiger hit at impact = downed Falcon by direct hit That's what happens when you HIT SOMEBODY!
  7. Did somebody mention flurries? I hope it snows 3 or 4 or more inches 'cause there's nothing like football in the snow. It would just make it even more for the Tigers to HIT SOMEBODY!!!!!
  8. You may be surprised when you finally see who the hitters are going to be...and then even more so when see the hittees!!! Let me assure you that if there's a helmet with a Falcon on it.....the one who carries it is gettin hit......hard! We can take hits too....let's just see who gets up first!
  9. Fulton is the fastest thing on grass, no doubt. I watched the TC game last year. I also wondered how they did not score more points. Must have been the TC playcalling. I mean, they had a far superior team than TC, right? Look, the point is that we're comparing the teams on paper when it's 3 days till kickoff. Here it is: We (Macon County) have to be prepared for some serious speed, speed from all directions and sources, speed in every area of the game. Fulton has to be ready to get hit when they try to use that speed. And don't think that you're going to go the whole night without somebody getting drilled, it shouldn't happen, it can't happen, it WON'T happen. Period. This game shapes up a lot like a game a couple of years ago called Super Bowl XXXVI. I know, it's like comparing apples to oranges comparing high school football to the NFL, but the teams are shaped up the same. Fulton, much like the Rams, could fly all over the place with playmakers to get it done anytime. Macon County, much like the Patriots, would get it done with defense and special teams due to the coaching and the discipline. The deciding factor will be which team wants it more. But I assure you this, mark it down: SOMEBODY'S GETTING HIT! LET'S GO TIGERS! 1...2...3...HIT SOMEBODY!!!!! :
  10. Have to go with Kittrell Smith, as well. I have been friends with him since his freshman year, have played soccer and golf with him and I have to say that he has the strongest leg of anybody that I have ever seen kick in high school. Not only that, he is one of the best punters in the state and he should be playing D-1 football somewhere next year. With a 49.7 yard average, somebody will give him a look.
  11. Everbody forgets about our first-round opponent, Howard. Sure they had a bad record and came out of a weak region, but they brought speed to the game and don't think for one second that our boys aren't ready for it. Most of them were at the TC-Fulton game last year and were able to see what speed could do. There's gonna be some points put up in this one, but the most important ones, the extra points, will decide this one like it did last week. One miss, and it could cost somebody. MC 24, Fulton 23. Let's Go Tigers, HIT SOMEBODY, HIT ANYBODY, HIT EVERYBODY!!!!!
  12. Ok people - it's gameday. Get ready - 19 hours to kickoff.
  13. Oh come on foxylady, you secretly wish it would snow and you know it!
  14. 60 at kickoff....light winds.....otherwise good night....though i wish it would snow.....
  15. Very good, 44. You know your stuff....can't hate on that.
  16. let's go roll tide, let's hear something from the Bear, while we're here....
  17. mc08 if u wanna clang cowbells by my head i won't care lol just be sure to warn me first
  18. Ain't nothing wrong when a fellow fan does it but when a opposing fan does it that's when it's wrong.
  19. Oh, and miss foxylady, you were right there too if I remember correctly.....
  20. Not complaining 'bout the cowbells themselves, but the fact that the GC fans were rude enough to use them right behind our ears, which they did all night.
  21. Great story on the Dyer family, it just makes the game mean even more to them.
  22. We heard enough of them from the GC fans last week--right behind us-- got really annoying.
  23. Grab a hooter and run. That's original. I like that. That's funny I don't care who you are.
  24. Man, four more pages since I went to play golf this morning. I also read the Tennesseean this morning and those guys believe that SC will pull it out, 21-20. That's okay, cause they have their opinion and everyone's entitled to it. In fact, I like the fact that they think that way because that adds even more expectations to SC's task at hand. Sure, this is our first time this deep into the postseason, but SC's got a lot of pressure and expectations, too. We're here to make noise, since this is our first 3rd round game ever. The revenge factor is great, that's true, but seeking revenge also puts pressure on the team to perform, pressure that can be overwhelming sometimes. We've got pressure too, no doubt, but a first-time team doesn't have the expectations that a SC, TC, or a Portland would have. To a lot of people, we're not supposed to be here. But here we are, ready and able to take on any team thrown at us. No disrespect to SC, they've worked very hard and had to play many tough games throughout the season. One of us has to go down. Whoever wins will have earned it and deserved it. They had better bring home some hardware for the region to prove the strength of the teams in it. And looking back on some of my comments throughout the week, I want to apologize to the SC faithful who support their team, you all are great people, and I meant no malice to anyone. My comments were misguided, spoken in haste, and not in my best frame of mind. I hope that you all will not hold a grudge against me, for I just want to support my team, and that sometimes my thoughts get away from me. This is just a hectic week, culminating with what I believe is the game of the year in 3A. I believe that a few people share my sentiments and hope for a clean and safe game for all. MC 23, SC 9 (but it will be closer than the score)
