  1. Tyler Massey kept the Owls strong line up in check all night. Baylor just took advantage of their mistakes and made them hurt.
  2. You have to put Tyler Massey from Baylor on there. He made all-state as a sophomore last year at MUS. He's very athletic and has power.

    top players

Zeth Stone from Baylor. He is junior that batted over .400 last year in helping to lead Baylor to state championship. He also has power to all fields. Not to mention he can throw in the upper 80's off the mound.
  4. This year though, all the seniors who are starting, deserve to start.
  5. In the east there are only 3 teams left, so McCallie, Baylor and Knox. Webb will be battling it out. On paper, Knox. Webb and McCallie have the best chance, but when all of the teams play, it doesn't matter especially between Baylor and McCallie. The last two years, the weaker team has usually won. It it'll be exciting to see which two teams go to state. 1.) Christian Brothers 2.) McCallie 3.) Webb 4 ) BGA 5.) Baylor
  6. Ooltewah is number 1 because they can hit just as well as McCallie and they have a deeper quality pitching staff.

Nobody is giving Baylor much of a chance this year, but I promise when it gets to May, they will be a contender.
  8. Baylor does indeed lose many starters with seven seniors leaving. However they should be very competive in Div. II with returning Chattanooga Best of Preps, LF Michael Brown ( .410, 4 hr, 27 RBI), and p/1st Coty Green ( 6-2 , 1.68 era- .357 , 29 RBI) along with catcher Rowdy Byrum (.280, 3 hr, 25 RBI) and Ut Trey Dyer plus many other solid players who had significant time on the field. Should be a strong team if pitching holds up.
  9. Who will emerge from this opening game of the the Div. II East region. Will the Red Raiders get revenge or will McCallie continue this years sweep of them. Pitchers will likely be Ryne Simpson against Charles Williams. Game is at McCallie @ 6:00.
  10. Don't know much about the West and Middle Regions but Matt Packer and Philip Irwin from Christian Brothers are pretty good and Josh VanFleteren from Brentwood Academy can bring it. The East has Ryne Simpson and Coty Green from Baylor, Charles Williams from McCallie, and Zach Gosselin from Webb.
  11. The games were rescheduled for Monday at 3:30 because of the weather. Pitching matchups will probably be Simpson vs. Gosselin and Green vs. Kimmons.
  12. It is also hard to leave out McCallie and Baylor's pitchers. Bart Roark and Charles Williams from McCallie both have had a good start to their season pitching against tough teams and Ryne Simpson (1-2, 4.36 era), Coty Green (1-1, 1.68 era) , and Logan Simmons (2-0, 1.51 era) from Baylor have also faired well so far this year and past years.
  13. Any predictions on who will prevail in both teams opening game of the Scenic City Classic?
  14. Baylor won last year 14-2: Green and Simpson combined for a 4 hitter. Isaiah Newson hit the grand slam but it was walks and errors that hurt Soddy last year. However this is a new year and anything can happen. I expect a close game.

On Tuesday, Baylor beat Lookout Valley 11-2.
