I bet he will throw Monday because Farragut has a game at the University of Tennessee on Friday and I highly doubt he would not pitch in that game.. and if he pitches Wed. then he wont.

How did Oakland do tonight? they played Hendersonville after us at Oakland in the grand slam challenge. Tough double header for Hendersonville, but I was just curious to see how everything played out. The first game was a great one with a 3-3 tie in the top of the 7th, father ryan had a clutch single and a 2-run bomb to win 6-3.

I hope Beech throws someone who is not in the rotation against Hunters Lane because they played yesterday they play today and they play in the grand slam challenge from thursday to saturday.. that can really take a toll on your pitching staff. well see how well they do in the tournament and it should be a good preview of how well they can really play.

I have heard many things about Catapano the lefty pitcher at Farragut. I am just trying to figure out how good he really is and how Farraguts chances are this year at making a state championship run. I know that they are always a top team and always have a good shot at a state championship but ive heard from numberous people that this years Farragut team may not live up to the expectations this year as it has in the past..

I did not say that Baylor would beat McCallie.. I said they could and that I would not be surprised if they did. Also, please be honest when you respond.. if you know tbca you know that the head coaches do the previews.. I think that the head coach would know more about the team than anyone, but you don't care what some "preview" says and you know the "guys" who write those anyway so i guess your right. I didn't say that you said McCallie was loaded with seniors thats what I said.. everything I wrote was not responding to what you had said I was giving my own opinion as well. I didn't feel that you had knocked any other team I felt that you were giving too much credit to a McCallie team that did not do well in the state tournament. I agree with you that McCallie will be tough to beat but you along with other members are making it seem as if McCallie has already won state and I am posting to let you know that its not gonna be the cake walk that you all at McCallie think it is. D2 is a real tough division this year regardless of who ends up on top it is going to be a long and bumpy road just to get to the state tournament in May.

Well Rabble I sure hope McCallie lives up to the hype that you all are giving them. You obviously know little about D2. If you look at the some of the top teams in D2 you'll see that McCallie isn't the only team loaded with seniors from last year. Knox Webb returns 7 starters, Baylor starts 8 seniors, CB is always a big threat, Father Ryan returns 8 starters, and not to mention BGA is a threat when Ridings is on the mound. McCallie could very well get Ryan or BGA first game of state, which they have to get past Knox Webb and/or Baylor just to make it to state, and both are very capable of beating McCallie. I am not saying that all this is going to happen, but it wouldn't at all surprise me if any of it did. D2 is loaded this year and whoever does go all the way will have to play near perfect in May. By the way, if you look at the preview for McCallie an area of concern is starting pitching.. correct me if im wrong but isn't an area of concern a question mark? maybe im wrong and maybe they are one of the best teams in state.. well find out very soon.

Again your not giving credit where credit is due.. how is McCallie a close 2nd when Father Ryan has the same amount of seniors returning and finished higher in the state tournament? Knox Webb that finished 2nd in state is also returning plenty of seniors and should be the close 2nd, not McCallie. Also isn't it the top 2 in the east that go to state? meaning that one of the three between Baylor, McCallie, and Knox Webb won't even make it to state. McCallie has a huge question mark at pitching and pitching is what wins ball games and it could very easily be McCallie staying home in May. All of these replies are McCallie biased so I am sure im gonna get grief for this but it would not be surprising at all to me to see McCallie staying home. One guarantee is that the state tournament is going to be the best in recent years. It seems like every team is returning a heavy amount of seniors and I believe that because of the bracket, either the #1 seed from the east or the #1 seed from the middle have the easiest road to the state championship game and I think one of those teams is going to become state champion.

I don't see how making new modifcations to the field will help.. maybe if they improved their weight room but how is making modifications to the field going to help BGA playing baseball? All the BGA players are causing a lot of hype about the team and I just don't think that they can live up to their expectations.. Ridings can't pitch every game and D2 is always a tough division. We'll see where they wind up in a couple months.

What are your predictions for D2?

It will be interesting to see how Beech does early on. They have an early test against Father Ryan in the preseason and they also play them early on in the regular season. Father Ryan is loaded with seniors and will be a state contender in D2. It should be a dog fight and well see how they do once they are truly tested. I still think it is too early to predict anything. A game hasn't even been played yet.

I have never heard of Paul Vaughn, but I played with Sonny Grey this summer and I can almost guarantee you that he is not better than Sonny. Pro teams were talking to Sonny last year as a freshman and he is one of the best young pitchers I have ever seen.. and as a senior I have seen some great pitching. Not only can Sonny pitch but he can hit.. really well for a freshman. He is the real deal and barring an injury from football or anything else, you will see him at the top level.

StraightupLaxin man chill. Baseball is a sport where anyone can beat anyone on any given day. You come out of the box talkin trash and the season hasn't started yet. Forgive me if I am wrong but Father Ryan put you out of the state tournament and beat CB their first game against them if im not mistaken. Even though you may have beat ryan by more "points," they beat you when both of your backs were against the wall, and they beat you when Charles Williams wasn't on the mound, and Charles won't be there this year. CB will be good as always, BGA has a decent team with Ridings, Knoxville Webb will definetly be a contender because we are loaded with seniors and placed 2nd last year.. you are sayin that its gonna come with ease when you have to play all these teams? Oh yea and remember.. you have to beat those teams. Leave your trash talkin on the field well see whos holdin up the trophy at the end of May.

I don't think you understood what I posted. I never said that the fans running out onto the court was what bothered me. I said the pushups, taking off the shirts, and some guy running in front of the ryan bench holding his finger to his lips is what bothered me. I guarantee Father Ryan would have rushed the court in that situation. But they also wouldn't have waited for JP2's basketball team to get out so they could taunt them, they also wouldn't do pushups in front of the JP2 bench. Look I understand that people get crazy after a big victory but JP2 took it to another level. I am surprised that no fights broke out and I commend father ryan for not letting that happen because I was there and saw what was going on right in front of my eyes. And your right I am a father ryan supporter, but im not a die hard fan. It didnt matter to me who won I just wanted it to be a good game and it was. I am just commenting on what I saw at the game from the other side bc its mostly JP2 supporters responding. Just get me right here.. rushing the court is NOT the issue. Its the way the fans and players reacted, and im sorry for saying JP2 had "zero" class because of the environment and hostility.. they might have a little more than that. You all at JP2 take the chants way too seriously. It is fun and games not disrespect. Pope 57 is talking about a game last year for cryin out loud. Its just a chant..

I agree.. on a good note, the game last night was probably one of the best games I have seen all year. On the other hand, JP2 won with the least amount of class I have ever seen at a basketball game. A player from JP2 was doing pushups on the court while two or three other JP2 basketball players took of their shirts and tried to flex. Golden Tate is the cockiest player and leads the whole group of the "golden" knights. Tate scored eight points and was never a factor up until the last play where father ryan left him wide open and all he had to do was lay it in. He was acting like he scored 30. Alvin Ingle ran up the father ryan sideline putting a finger to his lips like it was the first victory JP2 has seen. I congratulate JP2 on a good win that could have gone either way and both teams played hard. As good of a win as that was for JP2, they showed zero class and I really feel sorry for the whole school. It is pretty sad to think that a high school has as many immature and undisciplined kids as JP2. I do not have nearly as much respect for JP2 as I did two days ago. Everyone involved with the school should be embarrassed by the lack of discipline. Basketball is a game, not life. At least have some respect for Father Ryan and their facilities. The school is named after a pope, they sure didnt act like it. Like Paul Brown use to say, "when you reach the end zone, act like youve been there before."

I was looking at the revised schedule and I am confused. Some teams play a total of four games today and tomorrow while other teams play one or two games today and tomorrow. Why is that? Is the Sunday schedule not complete? The rain caused everything to get messed up. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know.
