  1. It's a little funny FRW seems to believe that school is based solely on athletic competition, I guess JP2's beating in not only beating Ryan in the classroom but on the field as well. Congratulations to Ryan on your win Friday night. It was obvious in both games Ryan has more overall physical talent, however it obvious in both games to me who did the better job of coaching and who's players played smarter even though the series was split. Those games are the ones you want to be the team coming back, as was apparent in both games. Whoever mentioned how the refs blew the football game, WOW 49-21 a darn good job of blowing a football game, maybe the best job ever by the third team. Please don't dig yourself a hole there. And one last note to Father Ryan, even if it is another overall disappointing year in sports, remember this spring to keep Bateman on a leash, he might actually kill someone if he gets some roid rage again. But in all seriousness it will always be a good rivalry for years to come and I can't wait for hopefully another matchup in the Region tourney, it should be great and im looking forward to whatever comes next in the rivalry in whatever sport it comes in.
  2. Golden is ok in basketball, he has an ability to get to the rim through traffic but can be out of control at times which is probably why he seldom starts. Still he is best pressure shooter on the team possibly as was evident in his OT buzzer beater to beat Ryan at Ryan. He's good but not the special type of basketball player that he is with football. Pope has a very good player in Alvin Ingle who put up 31 against BGA on Tuesday night. Also the team gets very good play usually from Timmy Galvin along with excellent play at point from Winder Buchannen. The team is pretty good this year having only two region losses to BA and a surprisingly good Ensworth team. They have beat Ryan once so far and swept BGA. They are slightly undersized but a good deal of senior leadership and determination has taken an undersized team very far this. Probably the second best team in DII middle this year they simply have found ways to win games.
  3. This will be a good game against a most likely mad Irish team, If Ryan begins to hit there 3's it will spell death for JP2. Still this will be a good game against rival schools, and I can't wait.
  4. Imagine this, I go to Tennessean.com and guess what, right after I put the post on Ryan playing Ensworth and how they could possibly lose to them, well imagine this, Ensworth BEAT Ryan tonight, gosh i can't believe a team of Ryan's caliber lost to Ensworth at home.(sarcasm) And I have feeling nastysquad06 is a BA fan, please quiti recruiting to your school, I don't know who you pay off for your football and basketball but it doesnt matter if you do or not, your academics are horrible and you are a purely sports school where scoreboards mean a lot more than collegeboards, however your basketball team is very fun to watch and full or talent I just wonder what the team's average ACT was?
  5. Actually JP2 played Decent against BA and lost by only 21, even though that is rather large, the defense was good and frustrated Wright quite a bit, BA did not pull away until they began shooting the 3 ball. I also believe that the game was one in which BA possibly was held to it's lowest point total of the season. While JP2 never realistically had a chance to win, they played BA as good as anyone in the region has this year, and Ensworth is team that can't be taken lightly by Father Ryan, but then again it wouldn't be the first time Ryan has lost to a team with no seniors (JP2 2 years ago), and that Ensworth team is better than the JP2 team that beat you two years ago, watch out Ryan and everyone else in DII Ensworth isn't bad at all.
  6. Is Golden cocky, a bit; Did he showboat, heck ya but can you blame him when there were shirts on the Ryan side that had Tate with a cirle and line through it, and as I have heard many players he was taunted everytime he ran by. There are certain situations when rushing the court is appropriate, that game ending the way it did with the range of emotions, of course the court was rushed. A rivalry game ending on a buzzer beater, it was a great game, we all admit that, we are all looking forward to the 10th for the rematch. But how can a Ryan fan possibly admit that they would not have rushed JP2's court if the situation was reversed. If they truely admit that they are most certainly lying , the point is that the game was great, both teams played very well. I heard a stat today that Ryan went 4-29 on the 3 ball, a shot that they have traditionally had trouble with against JP2's defense. The game was great, we all know that, and JP2 did nothing wrong in rushing the court or showboating, it was a hostile atmosphere, and should be no surprise what happened and it was far from bad sportsmenship on the JP2 side.
  7. WOW, nothing I can possibly say to sum up this game. Winder Buchannan made a 3 point play the hard way with 5 seconds left in regualtion to tie the game at 52-52, which was soon followed by Alvin Ingle blocking Father Ryan's attempt to win at the buzzer in regulation. Then down by 55-54 with 2.1 seconds left in OT Alan Williams inbounded the ball and Golden Tate, yes the Golden boy himself, hit a last second buzzer beating shot to win the game for JP2, and send the visiting Knights section into a frenzy, and leaving an enormous Father Ryan student section sit to ponder what had just happened. This by far has to be considered the game of the year to this point with little to match a 3 point game tying play the hard way, a blocked shot at the buzzer, and a OT buzzer beater for a 1 point win.
  8. Tate 6' 0" , Weight ? guess 175, Jr. and 40 time at 4.35
  9. Two touchdowns in the final seven seconds, to send the game to overtime. The Jp2 Knights come from way down with so little time left to beat Goodpasture 55-52 in OT. Without the far too many turnovers that JP2 had in the game they wouldn't have needed such heroics but the fact that they overcame that shows great things are happening at JP2 this year. Their schedule is one of the toughest, and they are 3-1 right now having beaten DII AAA Father Ryan, DI Class 3A runner up Greenbriar, and DI 2A powerhouse and state champion favorite Goodpasture, with the only blemish coming against division rival (DII AA) Knox Webb. If you guys don't mind can I hear your comments on the game from last night, and what you think about JP2 becoming a state powerhouse over the next few years and just how far they have come in this short amount of time.
  10. Wow you guys just won't believe me will you. Just can't believe HHS would cheat right? Just want to avoid the incrimanating evidence don't you? Feverfan brings up a great point in that HHS is a good ole boy system and with a lot of pressure to win. The only reason I would ever bring something like this up is if I had reason to believe it true and when you hear the same thing from 2 different people who used to be inside that program well it's easy to believe. HHS cheats in their summer practices, they put on pads which is illegal. HHS cheats it's that simple and some of you will not believe until the program goes down in a flaming ball thanks to TSSAA investigations. My source did play under Hatfield and that football program is run wrong. I wish HHS the best of luck and hope that they can win in the future, just doing things the right way like everyone else.
  11. Just got reports from a graduate who played at HHS for 4 years that during summers and well before august 1 they were in pads, mainly shoulder but still pads. Two sources now. TSSAA investigate HHS and put the cheaters on probation and HHS fire your cheating coach.
  12. McGavok wins thanks to mismanaged coaching by the great Hatfield, anyway Go Commandos.
  13. the pads are on in July buddy, and I speak what I know from someone that goes there now. Then again I guess this a bad time to bring this up, you don't want to kick someone when they are down (0-2) Good thing that practices don't help enough to win games.
  14. I only tell you what I heard from a former player. Also from what I know that goes on inside that school it is not surprising. This is one of those deals in which alumni can get on here and tell me I'm stupid and just trying to stir things up. All I am reporting is from a player who is no longer on the team and told me, "O we have summer practices all the time, Why do you think that place doesn't have any windows?" This came from a former player and a very trustworthy source. HHS is a good school but needs to do things the right way. The TSSAA should launch an investigation of HHS to ensure that these allegations are true and bring HHS down to a level playing field with everyone else. HHS quit cheating.
  15. HHS shouldn't be off to such a ruggish start, i mean they only built that giant field house so that they could have illegal summer practices, no windows for a reason. Only stating what I know from a direct source. Good Luck HHS and remember to do it the right way, or else the TSSAA will bite you in the butt.
