  1. Hey, go put on a skirt if you can't handle it. It is so sad to see an individual obsessed with doing nothing but crying over physical play. If you want a non-contact sport, play tennis. But you would probably cry that someone was trying to intentionally hit you with the ball and take you out of the match. Grow up or go cry to your momma; we're tired of hearing it.
  2. I know this is not basketball, but Bobby has called out the intelligence of some in his post(s). So, if I remember correctly, that podunk, redneck, illiterate, Hawkins County school defeated DB, Maryville, and several other 'high prestige' schools at a science contest held at Eastman recently. I guess all the kids there aren't ignorant.
  3. i hope you didn't take my post negatively. i was showing appreciation for helping my curiousity out. thanks again
  4. i really appreciate it. i would call it over also. once again thanks.
  5. any score updates? what quarter? unfortunately some of us have to work & can't listen on radio. if so, please keep updating. thanks
  6. backinblack & randy3116, you guys are class acts. i appreciate what you bring to the boards. no smack talk just insightful opinions. wish there was more of that on here. congats to the falcons so far this year but players stay off these boards nothing good can come from posting here. let the non-players do the talk, you guys focus on playing. bnb, sorry about dissing north on the other thread, just responding to a shot fired from a less enlightened poster from your school. thanks for your support. here's to a safe hard played game by both teams.
  7. why dont north worry about their next opponent ......oh wait they dont play again until august..... if you want to discuss offseason workouts, start your own offseason thread
  8. I agree there is a need, they play 500 games per year on that field...BUT you obviously are not a teacher. Without them no athletes.
  9. Longhorns by 35! Ralphie-boy will get a much deserved trip out behind the At'wood' shed! GO HORNS!
  10. I hope that this rumor is not true. It would be a great loss for the Tribe, but I heard that Bulldawg's master took Bob Barker's advice and had his pet neutered.
  11. i have an idea...let's amend the constitution so we can elect bush to another 4 years in 2008! before you go off about him not having anything to do with the hurricane... i know this BUT he did have a lot to do with 2.60 prices pre-hurricane. put an oil man in the white house... kinda like letting the fox guard the chicken coop.. that was a great idea. ('but he's such a moral man'...geez gimme a break )
  12. dude... stay off the drugs. just say no, it could save your life.
  13. Waco.....Who are you to talk about class? An old saying about a pot and a kettle come to mind.
  14. Billy Dixon would find a way to plug Sullivan North in an article about the Taliban....'Today the Taliban attacked using tactics similar to those used by Sullivan North in their game against South last week.'
  15. TDJ... i'm sorry that we know nothing about officiating, and we are so ignorant in your sight. please forgive us......( it's arrogance like yours that make people dislike you guys even more)
  16. big wes.... officials held accountable? come on... yes they do get evaluated, but how are they held accountable? for someone to be held accountable, there has to be some sort of disciplinary action; not just saying ,'hey you blew this call.' coaches and athletic programs get fined for conduct why can't officials get fined for poor calls? all the supervisors are the same. if an official is criticized by a coach to the supervisor, the officials circle the wagon and defend each other to the nth degree. the 'not enough officials' is not a valid argument. if you don't have enough quality officials, it is the TSSAA's job to recruit some. don't punish the athletes and schools because the governing body can't supply quality officials. why are officials and the governing powers soooooo afraid of an accountablity system with REAL accountability? is there something to hide?
  17. Hometeam.... Tearing others down is a defense mechanism for some insecurities. I am available whenever you are ready to face your issues. Anyway, I'll leave your forum to you guys. Good luck to you and your team whatever may happen. (By the way, I did play college ball on a full ride at ETSU for 4 years many moons ago, so I do have a little sports knowledge.) Once again, good luck.
  18. Bachelor's of Science in Education- ETSU Master's of Arts in Counseling- ETSU PHD in Psychology- University of Tennessee That's why I am TheProfessor.......
  19. Dogman, I'm not trying to start anything here, but since I am an outsider, could you list your credentials that allows you to know that the coaches are so horrible and what qualifies you to call for a change? Guys, I just want everyone to realize that now may not be the best time to have this discussion. Life is an important thing. Coach Jenkins deserves support at this time not worrying about being torn down.
  20. I am an outsider. I don't pretend to know as much as you folks near the program, but I can look at things objectively. First off, down cycles happen in every program. Maybe this is the time for 'Betsy. I'm sure you will be back. Second, players play the game. If you guys have never coached before, like me, and I don't mean pee wee ball, we have no idea what it is like to be under the gun on Friday nights. It is easy to sit in the stands and second guess because you have the benefit of hindsight. How would we react if it were us on the sidelines? Would we make every correct call? Would we run the program to perfection? I would say probably not. Coaches are not out to make our sons look bad. They want to win as much as anyone. How would we like for our jobs to depend on 14, 15, 16 ,17, or 18 year olds? These guys spend countless hours away from their families, for what? Glory? Fame? Money? No, they do it for the love of the game and the love of kids. Those of you questioning the intelligence of your coaches, try sitting down and discussing the x's and o's with your coaches and see who knows more. If those that are so adamant that the coaches are the problem and think they know better, here's some advice: go back to school and get an education degree and coach yourself. Better yet TSSAA allows non faculty coaches now. Go to their class and get certified to coach. You guys have fine people leading your program. For that you should be thankful. If my son were there, I know I would be. Coach Pless is a fine person who CARES. Third, your head coach is fighting for his life, if the stories I hear are true. It is trivial to be discussing this topic now. There are much more important things in life than football. Now is the time that the community should be rallying around the TEAM, players and coaches. Good luck to Coach Jenkins, You are in the prayers of many.
  21. Good luck this year. Can anyone update the outside shooting capabilities of this team? In years past, the inside game has been great, but the Falcons have lacked shooters. I know Creasy was called on to fill this role last year and did a fine job in clutch situations. Has anyone else stepped up so far in the perimeter area? If so, it could be a long season for opposing teams. One final question, how is Hughes going to be used and what impact can he make?
  22. First off, good luck to both teams. However, I must say that those of you that think this will be a blowout, could be quite wrong. Chris West is a monster running the ball when he's fired up. The game will depend on which Cherokee team shows up. If the wrong team shows up, it could be a blowout in favor of Betsy, but if the right team shows up (no offense Region 1), it could be 3 or 4 games won by the Region 2 teams. I do think that Cherokee will have trouble stopping the speed of Bailey, though. Cherokee also has a sneaky passing game. They pound you with West and then will play action bomb you with a fast and talented wide receiver. Should be a good one to watch. I wish Coach Jenkins well in his health struggle.
  23. First off Kev, I was not the one asking for simplification, and I have no beef with the people of Rutledge. I was stating observations in games that I have experienced at Rutledge over the years. You want facts? Ok, here we go..... You go undefeated at home this year (go figure). You have 2 road wins this year against Claiborne and Pigeon Forge. You beat 2 teams with a combined record of 3-17 on the road. Maybe all of your tough games were on the road this year, but it just seems a little strange. I may not be as close to the Rutledge program as you are,Kev, but that has never stopped you from spouting off about other programs that you have no clue as to what's going on in those programs. You reaponded to one of my posts by saying if I don't like what you say in your posts, don't read them. Well, let me tell you... If you don't like my posts don't read them. To the other folks from Rutledge, I'm sorry if I offended you. Nothing personal towards you guys. I honestly wish your team good luck in the playoffs. Kev needs to stick to commenting on teams he knows more about..... and yes, I'll take my own advice and stick to teams I know about.....Just wanted to prove a point.
  24. Well Kev, the main concept I was going for was that in order for AC to win, they will have to beat the officials as well as Rutledge (been like that for years in Rutledge). The other was just a dig at someone who took a shot at me.....nothing personal just messing around. I thought it was pretty self explanatory, but I guess not. If you need further simplification, let me know.
  25. Hey Mav; nice comeback. Would you like to borrow my 3 year-old son's crayons to play with or how about some play-dough? No offense to you Pigeon, but does it matter that TSSAA appoints the refs? They are still the same refs, so I'm cautioning you--- you'll have to beat more than the Rutledge's players.
