  1. Amen crockpot--Allie was referring to the 4x8...too bad the Tennessean manipulated it to say something else.
  2. Right they have them on both sides--but the stands are smaller. Besides--for track--who really wants to sit on the opposite side of the field. There isn't enough seating on the final straight away...not for everyone in the state!
  3. I would like to point out that I did not mean to make Briarcrest's facility seem below standards. The actual track is nice, very new. And i actually liked the fact that there is basically a cement sidewalk completely surrounding the track which is nice for warming up--but will likely be extremely crowded for the state meet. Yet, I was concerned with the fact that the discus ring is right next to the high jump pit. If one threw the discus just right you could land one on the high jump pit. This cannot be safe. Aren't there regulations about this type of thing? And I still believe that the amount of seating is inadequate for everyone in the state. Overall the facility feels a lot smaller than GPS and I think that this move in the end is going to affect the track and field athletes the most.
  4. I would just like to voice my opinion that I really disagree with the decision to move the Spring Fling to Memphis. The track facilities at Briarcrest are inadequate for the state track meet. There is not nearly enough seating for everyone in the state, probably only a third of what was at GPS. Also, the facility can only be reached by traveling on a small country road that will likely become very cobbed up when everyone in the state must travel on it. Additionally, how close is the nearest hospital? Likewise, there are very few restaurants near the track making food runs for the athletes and for the family extremely inconvenient. How do others feel about the move?
