  1. I don't think any FRA fan could question the call. My daughter is a senior on the FRA team; in fact she scored their only goal. However, albeit heartbreaking, the call was justified. Good luck to Notre Dame. You are a great and classy team. To the FRA girls, hold your heads up high! You should be proud of what you accomplished. You had a great year. FRA and ND showed everyone at yesterday's games how a Championship Game should be played. It had to be one of the best A/AA games ever played at the State Tournament. The students, the parents, the fans, the players, the coaches, the officals and everyone else involved conducted themselves with extreme sportsmanship and class. All involved should be extremely proud!!
  2. Totally agree. The Fairview Goalie played her heart out! She certainly earned the respect of EVERYONE who saw her play Thursday night. Best of luck to Fairview on Saturday.
  3. Fair enough and well said!
  4. Big G, you seem to be one of the more knowledgable people on these topics and being a coach yourself, what teams in A/AA other than Notre Dame do you think can beat them? Their record early in the year is often not exceptional because of the DII and AAA teams they always start out with, but somehow once their District starts, and especially by playioff time, they seem to be able to put it all together. They never dodge hard compeition, that's why they have built such a quality program. I think you are being a little too rough too early. But it really doesn't matter. It only matters who wins the championship, and if I were a betting man, I would bet FRA will be there at the end. Spoken like a true loyal DAD.
  5. Very impressive. What 4 teams did she score on?
  6. Good to have you back Flash. Thank goodness. Now I can get off and turn it over to your capable hands!
  7. We'll have to wait until November to have that question answered.
  8. I think they have 22 and normally rotate 13-16 depending on the game. More should be in the mix as they gain experience. Probably not much different than most teams this time of the year. Being a very small school they have never had enough players for a real JV team, which is unfortunate. Three games isn't out of the question. What made it so difficult was having to play Baylor at 10:00 am and then to turn around and have to play Notre Dame at 3:00 pm both on the other team's home field at field temps which were probably close to if not over 100 degrees. No excuses though, they got beat by two of the best teams in the state. When some of the regulars started having serious problems from the heat, subs did start coming in regularly, they just weren't many of the starters. The young girls got a real taste of what it's like to play against a real quality team like Notre Dame.
  9. Bingo DonC. FRA didn't sub extensively after the first 10 minutes because they played the girls who don't get to play much when the games really count. 8 of the 11 starters hardly played at all. Just wanted to add that it's pretty obvious that both you and I are pretty bias, and I'm sure Notre Dame didn't play most of its starter after it got the lead, however, I hope Notre Dame goes undefeated and is #1 when they get to State, so if FRA does have the chance to play them again, the girls will really have the added motivation to play their hearts out. Notre Dame deserves to be #1 in A/AA, and I'm sure that's where they will be when the rankings come out. Again Notre Dame is a excellent and classy team team and I hope by the end of the season FRA can put it together as they usually do.
  10. Taking nothing away from Notre Dame as they are a GREAT and classy team, and I wish them the best for the rest of the year. However, several of the FRA players were experiencing dangerous heat effects (and yes Notre Dame was playing in the same heat) and had played their hearts out in a very hard 1-0 heartbreaking loss to a very good Baylor team that morning. So after the first 10 minutes FRA had what I could only characterize as their JV team on the field. Hope we meet Notre Dame again in November and can give this excellent team a more competitive game.
  11. TACA All-State Teams are now listed on eurosportscoreboard.com

    Chuckey-Doak

Those "girly girls" kicked your butts 5-0! Nothing else need be said.
  13. Final Score: FRA 5 - Chuckey-Doak 0
  14. 3-0 FRA at the half, and supposedly McDonald has already started to liberally let his subs play.
