Volsbigd712 Your intellectual prowess is very impressive! Great come back! Did it take you all day to think of that post? I am so impressed with your word choice and thought processs that I am speachless! Keep up the amazing posts thumb

    Gomab!

Gomab2 I am definitely done responding to your posts-- How much respect can one have for you when you use words like "stupidest" to describe a post. This is your world and not mine- (Thank goodness) If you can't or won't logically defend your opinions-- oh well- The fact that your bias keeps coming up again and again is not my problem- it is yours- I don't have to defend my credibility on here- because I don't pretend to be an expert on Tennessee high school basketball players- you are the one that is playing that part. Good luck with that bud- thumb

    Gomab!

mnewballer21 I am sorry- but I live in the world of facts. Gomab2 has "admitted he was wrong" and he has "apologized" ???????????????? Please show me where and when these two things took place???????? Moving him up the rankings after receiving much deserved flack is not the same as "admitting he was wrong" or "apologizing" So you do admit that Gomab2 assessed a player (Caleb Skogen) without seeing him- and he admitted to that??????? and you are ok with that???? I know that he has been challenged as to when exactly he did see Caleb play- and I don't know if that was ever resolved?????? mnewballer21- I am not the only one putting Gomab2 on the hot seat--- (read the entire thread)-- Gomab2's comments about the "ignorance" and "stupidity" of people and their posts must make an "intelligent" guy like you feel at home????? I think you used that type of lingo in your post concerning me-- The Mr. Basketball award was just announced recently- that is why this issue has come up again-- I think that Gomab2's comments regarding the "ignorance" and "stupidity" of some of the posts has fired some of us up- yet again--

    Gomab!

Oaklandgrad- Gomab2 is a big boy- he can defend himself- Your saying to "ease up on him?" I admit to being a bias Temple fan- I pretty much follow the lines on here in regards to Temple and many of them this year have been directly about Caleb- If you do some research you would find that he (Gomab2) has been bias against Caleb this year- He was asked quite frankly if he had even seen Caleb play and he did not respond- (That was a while ago) If Gomab2 had said all along that he just simply didn't know how good Caleb was and that he does cover all of Tennessee and would have to wait to judge the situation, you would be completely right Oaklandgrad-- However-- The fact of the matter is that he has been very opinionated about Caleb and why he has placed Caleb out of the running for Mr. Basketball etc... Again- if he doesn't really know a kid- great- then say that- Maybe the best advice for Gomab2 is to not act like he does or could ever truly evaluate all these kids. If he had said a long time ago that he can't pass judgement on Caleb- then this topic would not resurface like it has in terms of Gomab2's opinions in regards to Temple (Caleb this year) So your logic is - give poor old Gomab2 a break and Caleb should be tough enough to ignore this "expert" Instead of Gomab2 being more informed and humble about his ability to rate all these kids accurately?

Hey gomab2 Do you ever wonder why so many people (and not just Temple folks) question your opinions so much of late? This has been a common theme for quite a few posts this last year. You and I got into it over your pre-season evaluation of Caleb Skogen as to the why or why not Caleb shoud even be considered for the Mr. Basketball award. You did not even have him on your top 55 list of players in Tennessee. (You mentioned ignorance of others lately????????) You need to look up the word "humility" in the dictionary and come clean as to how wrong you have been about Caleb Skogen. You did not even have him on a remote list of contenders for Mr. Basketball and he was given the distingished honor of being a finalist this year. He has received a full ride scholarship to a division one school to play basketball. It would be refreshing to hear you say that you have been wrong and tuck your tail a little bit and show some humility. You get sick of this topic and you are the reason why it comes up over and over again-- Caleb is a great kid and a fantastic B-ball player- and your pre-seaon lack of hype for him did not keep him from being named a finalist nor did it hurt his chances to receive a full-ride with a division one school. Thank goodness that "experts" like yourself don't have the power to destray a kids B-ball dreams.
  6. Hey Volsbigd712- That was an ignorant comment-- Have you seen Seth play football? Do you know how tall he is ? (or will be?) how quick he is? how fast he runs the 40?, what kind of hands he has? what kind of aggressive hitter he is? How smart he plays the game? I am not certain as to what level he could play? -- however- your comments are from complete ignorance- By the way- have you noticed that Alabama hasn't quite been the powerhouse lately-- You obviously have made many comments on coacht (940)-- I hope they have been much more intelligent and thoughtful or maybe better yet- you should find a new hobby?
  7. How many kids have been on two state championship teams, been to the state tournament four times, named to the State Tournament First Team, been a Mr. Baskeball finalist, and recieved a full-ride to a division one school ? The answer is not very many-- you are in an elite club of student athletes that have been able to accomplish that much in a high school athletic carear! It might seem like loosing at the state tournament and not receiving the Mr. Baskeblall award was a big let down; however, think of how many Tennessee basketball players did not get a chance to play in the state tournament for any of their four years. I am proud of you Caleb! (You owe me $200.00 for my plane ticket )
  8. SR35 I am hoping that you are Sean Wadly, or one of his good friends, giving him a bad time. When I first read your post I wanted to contact a Coacht administrator of this site and ban you from making posts. (I don't know if that is possible?) After re-reading the posts- it seems like it was all in good fun.
  9. Hey Gomab2 I am a bias Temple fan and that I admit up front-- When you "changed" your mind on Jake and placed him at #14- in the end- I aplauded your ability to admint when you were wrong. Am I seeing things or do you have kids ahead of Caleb Skogen that are not even division one scholarship players? (am I reading that wrong?) I am sorry to sound a bit sophmoric here- but either you are bias against Temple and/or the Skogens or you are simply being a jerk just because you want to show people you can be -- flexing your muscles just a little bit?. You say that Caleb "just missed your list" - let's see your scientific way of making sure Caleb "just missed your list"?????? I am sure that you will make one up if you don't have one ready-- Why would you list what AAU team a kid played on? That is completely irrelevant to this type of list-- The college that deems that player to be the real deal does make sense-- Some of your top 55 have not committed to a college? or is it that a college has not committed to them? Some of your top 55 are not headed to division one schools?????? What is up with that-- You could have at least put Caleb in the 50's and hid your bias a little bit more- Respect for your opinion has gone down with this latest list from my perspective--
  10. I don't always agree with Gomab2-- However- I do respect his straight forward answers and the integrity in which he answers questions. I don't think it is fair to insinuate that Gomab2 has anything against Caleb or Jacob Skogen. Infact I have recently seen Gomab2 make posts in regards to Caleb being in the top 5 of division A players. When it comes to awarding a student/athlete the "Mr. Basketball" award each year more than one player is deserving the honor. Each player in the top 5 brings different talents to the court. I am a bias Temple fan and don't have the breadth of knowledge in regards to all of Tennessee basketball that Gomab2 does; however, as I have said before-- Caleb Skogen is as deserving a kid as any in Tennessee to recieve the Mr. Basketball honor this year. His team is winning not because of him but WITH him and that should be a huge factor in the decision for who will be named Mr. Basketball thumb Winning as a team does matter. A player can score 30 points in a game at the high school level and be talented, but if that doesn't translate into being a functioning part of a team, that player has not proven that he is a complete player. The heart of a player is hard to judge in light of pre-season hype and out of shape adults judging young kid's abilities based on superficial opinions and stats. I do think that Mr. Basketball should be given to a student that is going to a division one school- I will give in to that-- however- that player should be a proven winner. Awards like Mr. Basketball go not only to a player but to a team and the team should take pride in that accomplishment. The Heisman Trophy was given to the right player this year (USC- National Champions- Matt Liner). (That doesn't always happen)
  11. Hey SikWitit If you do defeat Temple then good for you thumb If you do not-- are you ready to swallow the huge humble pill that will be coming your way? You are such a big talker with nothing to say-- You are the type that will have a million and one excuses when you do lose. Keep talk talk talking bud thumb thumb thumb
  12. Hey SikWitIt :justwrestle: Have you heard the Proverb/phrase, "pride comes before a fall" ? Bless your heart- I feel bad for you and all the lessons you will have to face as you go through life continually sticking your foot in your mouth! On a serious note-- let your actions on the court do all the talking- It would be quite the embarrassing moment for you when folks find out who you are (we know you play for Picket Co.) and then you fall flat on your face with your foot in your mouth. You can still practice humility! It is possible! It's not too late for you to change!
  13. Hey SikWitIt :justwrestle: Do you know what a double negative is? "Without them (Skogens) you (Temple) wouldn't have nothing-period" Dam you are dumb thumb thumb You also might want to look up the word humility when you get a chance- Polls mean nothing right now- The last team standing in mid-March will have all the "bragging rights"-- The wise team (player) will never have the "bragging rights" and will give all glory to God and practice humility and show class in all things!
