I don't have a beef with King, I don't even know the man. My contacts tell me: 1) Not utilizing enough of the pitching on the team. Had Senior who threw 2 hitter against Huntland this past week, (remember Huntland placed 2nd in District and will probally win the District Tourn. with some real hitters) that never saw the mound. In fact, this same guy I here was cut from the team the last 3 yrs. (just think if he had been playing all this time, who knows). He threw the ball well, I was there for this one. Also had 7 more consistant pitchers who played 1st, SS, 3rd, CF, LF, RF and catcher with several more on the bench. You just can't make the decision early in the high school season on your 1 and 2 pitchers, stir the pot a little it makes for a better recipe. If you have Seniors who can step up and pitch as well as under classman, we all know which way we would go. Also I have seen these guys throw and they used to throw the ball well. 2) Players playing out of position, not feeling comfortable where their playing, and I think I could go on but I'm going to get the latest scoop before I do. I just am tired of seeing the baseball talent go to waste in FC year after year and the team not getting any further than they have in the last few years. I can remember when FC was always a force to recken with. Also, I plan on moving back to FC soon and have a 13 yr. old son who will be playing high school baseball, maybe should just consider Tullahoma or Huntland, they both seem to have winning teams...............

Just as I predicted, maybe I am an expert, uhmmmm..............

gaetti: I'm not an expert nor do I claim to be one but I do have contacts at FC who know what they are talking about and do know baseball. Also, no one is slamming coaches as you say ( I just report what I hear). I also follow the program as much as possible (and attend games when in town) because I played there myself in the late 70's. A good player is a good player whether its Babe Ruth, Dizzy Dean, or just playing in the back yard. I do know this, FC should be more competitive with the talent they've had than they've been. Parents tell me, and not just parents, that FC should be winning more ballgames than they do. So, this does indicate to me that something is wrong somewhere. I wish the best for FC, but I don't see them getting past tonite.

I've got to go with Coffee Co. on this one. I here Franklin Co. is having some internal problems (makes you wonder if its coaching again).

No, that was the Medley (Colby) kid. I think he (Henn) played some short when Crabtree pitched.................

From what I've seen, Henn is no shortstop. He is not comfortable with ground balls. Probally could play some outfield but would be hard to get in line-up with his stick. Weak hitter..........................

I thought FC would really be able to compete this year in District play. I have seen them twice and both times they were impressive. What seems to be the problem?

Sqeezeplay, just think you may have gotten both wins instead of the split if you started with your ace. Congrats to the Rebels...............

I would like to know why a coach (FCHS) leaves a pitcher in who is getting pounded for most of the game and does not start his ace in game 1 @ home to get a district win, which they do not have. Now FC goes to Columbia down 1 with the Lions pumped. Does not make any sense to me....

How will this one turn out this week? FC is in need of a District win...........

Coffee Co. should beat Franklin Co. at home. I think Scott Baker is pitching this game and he doesn't have enough juice or pitches to mix against this bunch. I have seen him pitch this year once, just doesn't look strong enough. I've yet to figure why he is even in the starting rotation.......................

Is Franklin Co. going to have a summer ball team? If so, are they going to be playing any games at home?

Dustin Crabtree for Franklin Co. did great until he got hurt. But, Colby Medley has stepped in and done a great job also. I think thats where he used to play until moving to 3rd.
