  1. Tullahoma beat Lincoln Co in Fayetteville Wed nite 3-2. Jordan Sheffield went the distance for the win with Vandy coach Tim Corbin in attendence. The game was rain delayed, but they managed to get it in. The Cats get a 2 game sweep of Lincoln Co and are now 4-0 in District 8AAA play. Franklin Co beat Lawrence Co 6-0 to get a split in their two game series. Haven't heard a score on Columbia vs Shelbyville.
  2. Columbia beat Shelbyville 9-7.
  3. Tullahoma beat Lincoln Co tonite 12-8 to remain unbeaten in district play at 3-0. Lawrence Co beat Franklin Co 5-4. Don't know the score between Columbia and Shelbyville.
  4. After one week of district games, Tullahoma is the only unbeaten team in District 8AAA. Tullahoma swept Shelbyville by identical scores of 4-3 while Columbia split their series with Franklin Co. The same goes for Lincoln Co and Lawrence Co. There were no blowouts in any district games, so it looks like its going to be a good race for the regular season title.
  5. Tullahoma beat Siegel 3-1 last nite (Tues).
  6. Great way to start the season with wins over Coffee Co at home and a big road win at Siegel. The Cats will face some good teams in Mississippi this week-end. Hope everyone has a safe trip and enjoy the great baseball weather for early March.
  7. Is the girls Region championship between Lawrence Co and Riverdale still scheduled to be played tonite? Bedford Co schools did close early today and wondering if that affects tonites bkb game.
  8. LaVergne ended the season for Tullahoma in a very exciting game with the Cats losing 68-66. District 8AAA was the host and that's the reason the Cats game was at 6pm. Many Tullahoma fans made the short trip to Shelbyville and Tullahoma put forth a valiant effort in a losing cause. Its been a great season, but it was a tough game to lose. LaVergne is a good team.
  9. Tullahoma and LaVergne play at 6pm in Shelbyville. Looking at all the brackets from A to AAA, the team in the lower bracket plays the 2nd game. I have no idea why its different in 4AAA. There was some confusion about the start time for this game, but its been verified.
  10. Tullahoma won the District 8AAA tournament championship Tuesday night with a win over Lawrence Co at Lawrencburg 62-50. Tullahoma led from start to finish and got big contributions from their bench in the victory. Lawrence Co played very hard and are well coached, but Tullahoma had the better athletes. Coach Jeff Taylor has done a great job with this team in getting the team to play together and they may be peaking at the right time. Coach Taylor has only been with the team since January after discovering he had colon cancer and has had to undergo lots of chemo treatments. He is expected to fully recover and we're blessed for that. Coach Terry Johnson and Tyler Hatfield did a good job with the team until Coach Taylor returned. It was a great crowd and atmoshere in Lawrenceburg. Lincoln Co, seeded the #1 team in District 8AAA, won the consolation game over Columbia to finish 3rd. Tullahoma will host Smyrna Sat night at 7pm and Lawrence Co will host Siegel in Region play. Lincoln Co and Columbia will have to travel to LaVergne and Blackman Sat in the first round of Region play. Tullahoma improved their record to 19-8.
  11. I'm looking forward to the game Tuesday night in Lawrenceburg. I agree that Lawrence Co is a very well coached team and even though Tullahoma swept the regular season series, both games were close. Lawrence Co has the homecourt advantage, but Tullahoma could have a mental edge. It should be fun. The folks in Lawrenceburg are always great hosts.
  12. From an officials point of view, we don't tolerate profanity from players or coaches. You can get your point across without profanity.
  13. I thought I would start a different thread on this subject, since this topic was brought up and discussed on a thread about the Clarksville HS banquet. It seems that all I have done is defend Coach Serrano and I am a Tennessee fan in every sport. Coach Dave Serrano cancelled a speaking engagement with the Tullahoma baseball booster club, it seems because Jordan Sheffield may have committed to Vanderbilt. Coach Serrano said the reason was because he has so many young players on the team, he needed to stay in Knoxville and instruct his young team. That seems like a lame excuse IMO and there are other players on the Tullahoma High School baseball team that might want to come to Tennessee in the future to play baseball. A person is only as good as his word. I think Coach Serrano made a poor decision to cancel the speaking engagement and I would tell him that to his face. Does that mean I won't support UT baseball? Of course not, I'm a Vol for Life. I graduated from THS and I hope Tullahoma has a great season and I'll be at more Tullahoma games than Tennessee. If Jordan (Justin) Sheffield goes to Vandy, it will be a lot closer for the family to watch him play and right now the Vandy program is one of the top programs in the nation and I hear you can get a pretty good education there. I respected Jordan's decision to not play football and I respect his decision to go to Vandy. Sometimes, honoring committments can cost you in the long run, as it did with me working as a judicial commissioner at the Coffee Co jail, but that's another story. I also would respect people a little more if they put their real names behind their posts on Coach T and not use screen names, but that's easy for me to say since I'm retired and don't have to worry about losing a job or business because I hurt someone feelings. There are two sides to every story.
  14. This topic should have a thread of its own. Just where is the list Justus has and who knows where the young man is going? I'm sure he'll make a good decision, but I wouldn't discount the Vols just because Coach Serrano canceled his speaking engagement in Tullahoma. You think Coach Dooley will speak at the Arkansas football banquet.
  15. Looks like Tullahoma will play the winner of the Franklin Co-Columbia game on Sat in the semi-finals.
  16. Can you see the Coffee Co football coach speaking at Tullahoma in the hopes of getting Jared Davis to transfer back to Coffee Co?
  17. Or get Billy Donovan to speak at UT's bkb banquet.
  18. I think its because Justin Sheffield may have committed to Vanderbilt. That would be like trying to get the Coffee Co football coach to speak at the Tullahoma football banquet. Ain't gonna happen.
  19. Tullahoma backed into 2nd place in District 8AAA with Shelbyville's win over Lawrence Co Tuesday night, so Tullahoma will receive a bye in the district tournament in Lawrenceburg and will be going to the Region tournament. I guess the biggest question now for the Cats will be who is in their district tournament bracket. The district tournament will be exciting because of the balance of the teams. Tullahoma has a good chance of winning the tournament, unless they wait until the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter to get their act together, like the Tuesday game with Lincoln Co.
  20. Lincoln Co beat Tullahoma 50-49 Tuesday night at Tullahoma to complete a sweep of the Cats. They are tied for 1st place with Tullahoma, but Lincoln Co owns the tiebreaker. I think Lincoln Co and Columbia play Friday night and Lawrence Co travels to Tullahoma. Tullahoma can still get a bye in the tourney with a win over Lawrence Co, but if Lawrence Co wins, things could get tricky. I do know this, Tullahoma has swept Columbia, Columbia swept Lawrence Co and Lawrence Co swept Lincoln Co and Lincoln Co swept Tullahoma during the regular season. It should be an interesting district tournament at Lawrence Co.
  21. The District 8AAA boys championship will be decided Tuesday night at Tullahoma. THS currently is in 1st place and Lincoln Co 2nd,trailing the Cats by 1 game and they play Tuesday night at Tullahoma. Lawrence Co visits Tullahoma on Friday. Big week for Tullahoma with Coffee Co visiting on Sat. Although its not a district game, Coffee Co upset the Cats earlier in the season in Manchester and the Cats remember that game very well. Tullahoma's only district loss was at Lincoln Co.
  22. The regular season champioship may come down to when Lincoln Co travels to Tullahoma on Tues Feb 7th. Tullahoma travels to Columbia this Friday and need a win to stay in contention. This will be the 3rd straight district game on the road for the Cats. After that, the Cats have 3 of the last 4 at home with the one exception of traveling to Shelbyville. Coming off the mauling At Lincoln Co last Friday, the win at Lawrence Co Tues. was huge. There have been two games where Tullahoma could't have scored with a whore and a credit card and those were at Coffee Co and Lincoln Co.
  23. Tullahoma was better than Franklin Co last year, but if remember correctly, the Rebels swept THS at Tullahoma last season.
  24. If you want to beat Tullahoma and Columbia, Brewer with Roberts can get it done.
