  3. So, now were down from the "Same Folks" that changed the rule to ................ " some in the wrestling community sure fell in line".......... to "just the general feeling I get from a handful of DI folks that a DII medal is a throw-away." BB has went from changing the rules ..... to falling in line ......... to thinking a D2 medal is a throw-away. Dropping in importance quickly.
  4. I understand the "Same Folks" that won't wrestle D2 and the "Same Folks" making remarks ........... BUT, you can't include them with the "Same Folks" that changed the rules. D2 was created because of TSSAA problems with Brentwood Ac. Football team.
  5. I would always vote for Ethan BUT ............ under the BCB rule of the O.W. being an "Unsung Hero" Taylor (BC) is it.
  6. Come on BCB ........... time to name your O. W. of the week.

  8. Moates lost to Browning in semifinals ....in OT, Lost to Boone for third.
  9. To quote BCB "I will never pick the obvious choice, for I am a firm believer in the unsung hero." Randall Taylor (Bradley) ...... I don't think Randall was ranked by anyone. (Before this week) Just to add ............ No Best Match at Bradley? My Pick ......... Hames 7 Browning 6 was a real head knocker.
  10. Browning had a good tournament ............ Beat Boone, ND ....... Beat Moates, Hoover ......... lost 7-6 to Hames, BC in Finals

  17. Nice showing by the Bears. Hixson has 4 or 5 wrestlers who can go with anyone. BCB .......... you could have come up and sat with me and BabyBearMom .... You would've only had to show you didn't have a camera under that jacket. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  18. Bears down four Georgia state champs to capture Sawnee Mountain title From Staff Reports Monday, Dec 15, 2008 CUMMINGS, Ga. -- In a state champion laden field, Bradley Central had to battle through some extremely tough competition to earn top honors in its first trip to the Sawnee Mountain Duals over the weekend. "We wrestled eight dual meets in a day and a half against some very strong teams," Bear head coach Steve Logsdon related. "We beat a seven-time defending state champion, two other teams that won state titles last year and one of the teams we didn't get to face because they got beat is a four-time state champion out of South Carolina." Bradley won 86 of the 112 individual matches it wrestled in the 19-team event, but only two of the Bears came through the event unbeaten. Reigning 119-pound Tennessee state champ Logan Biddy and and heavyweight Cody Epperson won all of their matches at the event, while two-time state champ David Graham won his first seven matches before falling in overtime in the championship meet. Ethan Hames also went 7-1 for the Bears in the championship run. In its closest match of the season, the Bears held off the Georgia state AAAAA champs from Pope High School in Marietta 33-28 in the finals to capture its second tournament title of the season. Bradley won the Huntsville Hospital Invitational in Alabama earlier this month. On Friday night, the Bears wrestled four teams in the seeding part of the tournament. Bradley's first match was with Walton High School (Marietta, Ga.) which they won 59-11. Next for the Bears was Cass High School, the 2008 Georgia AAA State Duals Champions. The match ended with the Bears winning 45 -28. In the third round, Bradley had little trouble with Peachtree Ridge (Suwannee, Ga.) in a 45-16 before wrapping up the evening with a 65-6 win over Gilmer County (Elijay, Ga.), the 2008 Georgia class AAA traditional champs. On Saturday, Bradley and Pope were seeded as the No. 1 and No. 2 teams respectively before making their run to the finals. Bradley quickly disposed of its first two opponents Saturday beating Milton, Ga., 56-4 and shutting out North Forysth, Ga., 74-0. In the semifinals, Bradley had to face Jefferson, Ga., which is currently riding a streak of seven state championship titles including the 2008 Georgia 1A state traditional and duals championships. Despite coming off winning top honors at the 15-team Panthers Invitational the weekend end before, the Dragons were slain by the Bears 40-18. The champion match was an exciting come from behind win for the Bears. Starting at 130, Pope won the first two matches, including Graham's only defeat of the season in the 8-6 overtime thriller. Bradley won its first match at 140 when Randal Taylor won a 3-2 decision but the Bear Chris Augilar dropped a 1-0 deicision at 145. Pope the took a 6-2 decision at 152. Josh Disney got Bradley back on the winning side with a 5-2 victory at 160, but Pope answered by winning at 171 with a 9-7 decision. Bradley's Tucker Bolton got the meet's first pin at 189 to give the Bears a 15-13 edge, but once again Pope answered with its first pin at 215. The big guys took the mat next and Epperson needed just half of the first period to pin a surprised Pope heavyweight making the score Bradley 21-19. Bear Tyler Pitts followed with a pin at 103, but Pope was not done answering with a 5-2 decision at 112. With Bradley leading 27-22, Biddy sealed the victory with a pin, but Pope closed out the meet with a pin at 125.
