  1. Rumor has it there was a special girl in the stands to impress. Hope it worked! I dont think sweating on her will do much good. Great job Michael. How many do you have for the year now? 11? Nah just kidding. Stats have you at 39 for the year. Thats right at 3 a game.
  2. Caleb is underrated. He needs to play with the big boys in the summer so people can get looks at him against some of these other names on here. I think Caleb is a winner that sacrifices stats for team. Hes probably one of the smartest playing guards you can find that can flat out play.
  3. I meant to also say that Ray Allen has impressed me too. He has as quick a crossover and first step as anyone. No one takes it from him or gets a 5 second count for sure. I woulda liked to have seen that AE/Howard game to compare a bit more.
  4. Havent seen Ralston yet or a couple the others, but football stud or not.. Al Harris is the man if you want to win a game. He does everything you would want someone to do and keeps asking what else. He is a true leader and exceptional player. He gets a bad rap for being an AE kid sometimes, but his attitude is straight where it needs to be. Through 12 Gms-Avgs- 12pts, 6rbs, 5ast, 3 stl, 0.2blks. 52FG%, 443pt%. And this is on an AE team stock full of talent and #1 in Knoxville area. There is just no one who can press him or stop him. His only weakness is his all out hustle that leads to cramps by the fourth qtr. I really like Johnny Lee too. Hes a much better perimeter player than Albert who can take it to the hole too. Alberts more take it to the hole and can pull up if he has to. But Johnny doesnt have the total all around game abilities. Hes very very close though.
  5. Well, what do ya know... AC freshmen came through and won. I think it was 55-42 or something close to that. I havent seen anyone mention him yet, so here ya go... Corey (Sp?) Stooksbury is a stud. He scored 20 last night and has been solid all year for a decent Mav freshmen team. Anyone needing a pt ###### for an AAU 15U team, he would be a great one.
  6. Wow! We had a 12 yr win streak going? I had no idea. I guess thats about the only thing my teams did while in school. Sr yr we had 6 wins- 2 against AC and 2 or 3 against Central and no idea about the other sorry team. I dont feel as bad now. Clinton is playing really good right now and should take it to AC like a top rated AAA team should do to a decent AA team. AC is still trying to find their stride and it is awful difficult to do that against a good team. I figure AC probably has a 30% chance of winning. Ive told'em all the plays I can remember , but Im not sure that will be enough. Good luck AC and may the ghosts guide your shots. However, ACs freshmen will win tonight against the Dragons. That counts for something...
  7. I think you have some good observations hornet. I didnt hear how AE did in the rest of the tourney but they had a bit of the injury bug affect them for their christmas tourney. Bishop and Harris and Kite and Bogus can carry them a ways. If Fulton beats Farragut tonight then they should be #1 and AE #2. The next 2 are Howard and Alcoa. It will be interesting to see how Howard does against Bearden (I guess they won, didnt see). But you are right, Alcoa seems to be streaky too. The rest seem to be a bit behind. I think you have had some bad luck in not getting it with AC. If they woulda hit any of those shots to begin the game I know its a different game. Some games you dont hit and then some games you shoot like Howard did. Henderson seemed like he could shoot from anywhere and #10 was 4 of 4. Its just hard to beat anyone starting out 0-13. Thats why you play tourney games. AC will bonce back, maybe you can see them hit some next game. Id like to see McMinn play someone who plays a bit more of their style and see if Bledsoe can post up. Fulton didnt allow them much set up time.
  8. I was kinda kiddin bout the dunks and blocks but thats cool that he didnt prove me too wrong. thanks for telling me, I never saw how many he had in this one. Thats interesting of you to say hes a next level player. Thats a great complement, especially from another team. But JJ is human too. He gets blocked and charges and turnovers. Ive seen him get dunked on by Superman Jamont Gordon himself. But JJ always comes back and looks to get you last. Especially with a win. Thats funny- Jesus and Moses ...Its kinda catchey. Good luck to the H20 to!
  9. Anderson County plays Chatt Howard first round
  10. AE I dont think you have to worry about Fulton winning some games in the regular season. They do have 2 district losses now, but all they have to do is beat you twice and the crown still goes to them. Especially with the games being so late in the season now. AE sure doesnt want them to finish to where they will play in the same bracket. Im glad to see the players get some rest. It is tough being an all year athlete for sure. I think Oak Ridge always gives theirs a weeks rest before playing too. Hopefully Albert can keep those cramps out and the rest of them can keep from getting burned out. I dont know if thats what happened last season or what. But they started out real strong and finished weak. Alcoa has a chance to make some noise now for sure.
  11. Hey Mav, you are right it was ugly on the boards. I didnt keep the stats for them the complete game, but Powell had 7 offensive boards in the second half. The Mavs had 10 total boards for the game. Ouch The physical play definitely was a factor. Both teams played hard and thats part of the reason it wasnt impressive, just hustle and want to. Thats why we play those games against AAA teams though... To get a little physical and learn what it takes to play with the big boys. And speaking of big, Clinton will be up soon...BOX OUT PLEASE!
  12. It would be nice to see you get Giles county in the championship instead of 1st round this year. See some sweet revenge! Go Falcons! Looks like you got the makings to do what you did in football. Stay focused and listen to Coach. Wow, Carter is decent. What happened? They all out with flu?
  13. Jones will have 3 dunks and 5 blocks and 20 pts...if he gets to stay in.
  14. It sure would be nice to see Harris and Fersner playing in the summer together... Bishop is probably the best athlete on the board, even as a junior. Glad to see he is on the team and doing well.
  15. Ok, score changed 60-42 AE wins. Is Elliot playing? How did Big Time Al do?
  16. Scoreboard has AE losing to Seymour... Anyone??? Wow seymour 2-0 with wins over ae and fulton? Coach of year?
  17. Coates was nice inside. Ran the floor extremely well. Only had 4 in the second and 2 was real late trash. I dont really want to let the cat out of the bag so to speak, but this Wally Lowery kid is probably the best player in the area that no one is talking about. WOW! Another impressive performance. Good team win, but Mav is right that there is a ways to go before we are ready to whup up on some Falcons and Roadrunners. Heck, Friday we'll see if we are even ready to play in our own district with LC. Dont think this is isnt a big statement game before Holiday week for both teams. I have to smile about that one cougar, sorry- traitor.
  18. So this Kyle kid doesnt play organized ball, but hes the best in the area? How old? Height? He must be a stud in baseball too if he doesnt play.
  19. Sounds like lots of action. I havent seen Gaskin play this year, but I think that Tyler is the best player in the knoxville area. He can just do so many things and you cannot stop him when he puts his mind to it. But thats the problem, he doesnt do it enough. Seems too nice sometimes. Dont know if anyone can match up well? Someone better sign him before he gets away. Fersners a close second. For a junior that aint too bad. Weve watched him for 2 years and he just keeps getting better. He has definitely got mid-major D-1 potential.
  20. AC better bring the six shooters loaded. Havent hit consistently from the floor yet and if we cant keep Carter off the boards it will be a long night. On film, Carter has been running mostly man and that will be interesting against the AC motion. I feel like there will be a lot of open looks, but we'll see. It may go to who can play better D and rebounding. Can Humphrey, Harrie, Jones hold off the big boys inside? Can Chanoitt, Lowery, Rash, Mott hit the open looks and get to the rim on penetration? It should be a good one as another feeler game for the other region.
  21. Here ya go chill- I think its basically, JJ neutralized the Deans inside game and found he could take it to them on the offensive side. JJ scored 21 (1/3 of the teams points) on a very good Alcoa team, look out everyone. sqhsballa5 Posted: Nov 26 - 12:22 AM Jonathon jones led sequoyah again with 21 points in this big win for the chiefs what is your view on jones and how the sequoyah team will be this year theeir next game will against MCmin central at the CHOP house
  22. This doesnt surprise me at all. I said on another board that Sequoyah is going to beat some teams this year they have no business beating and most of it will probably be because the other team cant stop Jonathon. If JJ doesnt avg 20+ this yr I will be very disapointed unless its where hes getting more assists. He can dominate almost anyone in the area when he chooses to put his game face on and show out. He can dominate the game both defensively and offensely. Once he develops his handles a bit more and gets that jumper down hes going to be dynamite. His team is a bit more experienced and stronger this year too. Believe it or not Sequoyah will be really tough next year. Keep us up here in Knoxville informed.
  23. Geez, most of those players played with the Breakers the summer- no wonder they were good huh? Id like to see Foesner ranked a little behind Tyler or Tevah until he proves he can lead his team. He can score with anyone in the state, but he doesnt do all the things to make his team better. Hes just a jr though and getting better every game for sure. And Tyler and Tevah are the only ones on the list that can take over a game and say give me the ball Im going to score and win. Alberts probably the best player inch for inch on the list. If he will quit running touchdowns and get on the court he will be doing basically the same thing as in football. Scoring and winning. Thats all he does and loves. Elliot Bishop evidently isnt going to be playing this yr for AE- I guess hes on the best players not playing list. Isnt Sherrod Scott on that list too? Hes not playing is he? No one has mentioned Jonathan Jones yet so I will- I have been looking to see how hes been doing but havent heard much. Remember this kids name cause hes going to be fun to watch if you like watching Jermaine Oneal play. Hes very similar in style, just not 6-9 unfortunately. But he will be bring Sequatchie from their losing season last year and get them more wins than they probably deserve and maybe make the news sometime down the road in the playoffs cause in Madisonville, you dont get much pub. Landon Thomas is Reggie Miller junior. Has great range ability to go along with an attitude. Hes a great kid that hates to lose. Just sometimes doesnt know when to not express his emotions and feelings. He will give gulmire someone to dish to when hes penetrating.
  24. TN 3-3 CD Storm 2-0 defeated Ga.
