    4-AAA

Great win last night KenHawk!! It's good to see you on here again. Maybe I'll check back more frequently /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Farragut is really playing well this year. Kudos to Rachel Ingleby, she has really pitched well (player of the year, 4AAA maybe???). The offense for Farragut has been alot better this year as well. Two newcomers are leading the stats.
  2. There was one out at that time. The batter in the order between Jesse and Margaret struck out. I think Coach Moore felt like he could score Jesse from second and wanted to take his chance with two batters, instead of given up an out. I didn't matter, Kandice struck out the next two anyway. The pep band was a great tribute. Those were some of Margaret's band buddies that just wanted to come and play for the big game. While we are sad to see her softball career come to end, it was a fitting tribute to have everyone there, at home for the last game.
  3. Farragut had 4 hits and Central had 3. Central was able to put two together and drive one run in. Farragut had Jesse Howard at second in the first inning and Margaret Morris hit a sharp ball that struck Kandice in the leg. Margaret was safe at first, but where the ball landed, Jesse couldn't advance. If that ball gos through, we might still be playing this morning. Them are the breaks. Central has a better team this year than last. Kandice is a great pitcher and really baffles players. They should breeze into state. Congratulations, Central.
  4. Way to go LadyAds!!! I have never seen Farragut playing this strong at tournament time. Congrats to the seniors, Margaret Morris, Cayla Smith, Lauren Briody, Jesse Howard and Haley Lewis. All have contributed this year, both on the field and off. Your leadship is evident. But this team has valuable contributions from Juniors and Sophomores as well. Sarah Young, Rachel Mountain, Abby Rose Martin, and Chrissy Hannahs have all played pivital roles as starters, with Rachel Ingleby, Keri Meade and Sara Rini playing pivital roles coming off the bench. You all are a joy to watch and and I am proud to fly the flag as 'ladyadmiral'.
  5. Farragut 1 William Blount 0 Tomorrow nights games Farragut v. Maryville (6:00pm) Wiiliam Blount v. Heritage (8:00pm)
  6. That's right TNT. Thanks for posting it. I was going to but my daughter didn't give me the schedule. Pray that the rain will hold off until late Saturday night.
  7. All this is recorded in the schedule on CoachT for Farragut Softball. You can look there to see what the record is. LadyAdDad is rght, Farragut started slow, but is playing better team ball right now. Year-end tournament play is what counts and what people remember from a season. The fun starts next week!!!
  8. The game between Farragut and WB today should be a good one. Alas, I won't be there. Catch you later VTEC.
  9. I had to leave the game early, but it ended ina 7-7 tie. Farragut jumped out to a 3-0 lead early, but then Gibbs came back to tie 3-3, before mass substitution started. Farragut won at Sweetwater last night, but it was a weird scrimmage. Both teams bunted through the lineup in the first inning, without any outs, then they started playing with 3 out in the 2nd. Farragut ended up winning 5-1. Jeff Co. today at the Northwest Knoxville complex. There is a JV tournament going on there as well today.
  10. Farragut won 5-3. Man it was cold!! Halls is going to be better than people think right now. They were very good defensively and had a few sticks as well. The short-stop, I think her name is Stansberry (??) is a freshman and is very good.
  11. We enjoyed the day. It wasn't too cold. Great to be watching the girls play. Thanks for a good playday, Powell. Good luck this season.
  12. The last one is wrong, Farragut beat Karns 1-0. It was not starter against starter. These scrimmage scores are always way off.
  13. The coach at Karns is Shannon Holt. Sorry it tookme so long to respond. I have a job now!!
  14. Well, I've read all the posts and something stikes me. I"VE SEEN ALL THIS BEFORE!! Was it last year, no, the year before, no, the year before that! VTEC, Farragut should be better this year. The team did not play as well last year as they were capable of, not to mention rain outs that caused some key tournaments to be cancelled. The key to Farragut this year will be RBIs. We had good batting averages last year, but averages with runners in scoring position were terrible. We have a group of Seniors that can set the record for wins in a four year span at Farragut. That is saying alot. I couple of key sophomores that will crack the batting lineup this year may make a difference. Farragut and Alcoa square off in the first regular contest of the year. Should be an interesting test for both teams.
  15. I got to give it to you, Coach23. You summed up Knoxville pretty well. I also appreciate you 'Humble Pie' about Gibbs. Powell is the team to beat this year in AAA. I think they are a shoe-in for state. he second team from the region will will be an interesting race. Farragut and Heritage will be the front-runners in 4AAA, but both teams will have to learn how to compete in tournament play (both teams were knocked from district last year). The other thig that I have learned to appreciate is the impact that freshman can have. Heritage was not on the radar this time last year, but mix in some good freshman and maturing sophomores and bang!!, you've got a good team. WB will be interesting to watch this year with a new coach and some different players. South Doyle will also have potential this year with Brittany back. Maryville is the Gibbs of 4AAA, I have learned to never count them out. Everybody have fun this year!!
  16. I know who I can count on in this board, and you are one of them, VTEC. We are playing at Holston this year and started last weekend. We will play through 10/22/05. Are you guys up for a scrimmage during the week sometime?
  17. That's pretty low. My philosophy has always been that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it, but I just can't resist. First, it was not an asessment of the Maryville Magic program, it was an assessment of the quality of competition. You might not think alot of the players and people involved with the Maryville Magic, but they do play the best competition in the country and get exposure. Isn't that what a girl should be trying to do?!?! Second, you can ask my good friends on this board, but I NEVER bash or put down other teams. I don't know who you are Coach23 and at this point don't care to know, but your history on this board leads me to the conclusion that you love to throw out the disrespect, but won't disclose who you support. What does that tell us about you?
  18. Man, everybody is getting testy on this board. Can you tell us the name for the WB coach now?
  19. Why can't you name names? The Coach at Karns is Shannon Holt, former assistant to david Moore at Farragut. We at Farragut wish Shannon the very best (except fr one game a year). Who is the coach at WB?
  20. Like most local tournaments, we didn't know who the competition was going to be until the week before tournament. The outsiders did give us a run. As I remember, they had some pretty good hitters.
  21. Yes. That is the team. That was a warmup tournament for us.
  22. The Maryville Magic 18u Gold is looking for players that would need college exposure next summer (2006). The Magic had 49 college coaches watch players this summer. If you are from Tennessee and are looking to play top flite softball, this is your team. Sarah Fekete, All-American from Tennessee coached with the team this year and will be next year. Tryouts will be at Farragut High School on Sunday, August 28, at 2:00pm. Call 865-405-1105 for more information.
  23. Good Job Maryville. Way to prop up 4AAA. Keep the sticks hot!!
