  1. Wondering if Coach McKamey ever smiles?

  2. Shoot, from what I hear about the cash being dropped into the athletic facilities at GCA, and the level they are getting to in a short time span, The Lord must want some titles too. Can someone tell us more about The Traveling Roadshow there at Grace? Who/How was this conversion of a tractor trailer into a multi-angled, high-tech, video breakdown and editing system paid for? Provide details on what takes place on the inside of this trailer? I hear that Snowball is looking into renting it out for his Disco Night New Years Party! Multi-angles will boost his profile even more.
  3. As a follower and participant in covering Tennessee High School Football I am really disappointed in the Finalist for Mr. Football across the board entirely. Most of these names are already put as finalists before the year is played out. Finalists are determined by who they had committed to (Division I Colleges) before the season even starts. There are dudes on these Finalist Lists who missed multiple games and numbers are not very good when talking Mr. Football status. Just as in the Heisman Trophy, the team's success (Unless its 1956) plays a bit into it. I am not disrespecting these kids who are named to the the finalist list. They are all great players but there is a lot of weak played seasonal numbers on here. Don't mean they are not big time prospects or they are not gonna be big time college players, BUT Mr. Football is not and should not be determined based on prospect or potential future impact at the college level, or have they committed to an SEC or Division I School. These should award the best players of the year for their respective classifications.....PERIOD! If that means a NAIA-at-best player dominates a season on a great team, then so be it. Also, the Mr. Football Lineman award is a JOKE! If you play a position with BACK in the title, then you shouldn't be up for Lineman of the Year. I know that there are RBs who play D-Line and that is fine, but DO NOT use the offensive stats to factor into the decision. Watch and see what stats are read off at the awards ceremony for a particular kid who plays RB and DE for his team. It will be his offensive numbers. Finally, put a selection committee together of about 15 people who cover high school football. I'll be the first to volunteer. Represent each grand division of the state. With the use of Hudl and other video viewing capabilities, this committee can view game film sent, go week to week and watch players put on a WATCH LIST. This group gathers the weekend of round 1 of play-offs at a hotel and just like a jury, they come out with the finalists (and Winner). Use coaches votes as a percentage of the outcome as well as the sports writers with a percentage. Finally, if we are going to award Gold and Silver Balls to 8 classifications, then we can name finalists for Mr. Football the same way. Quit this A, AA, AA, crap! This is about recognizing and rewarding and celebrating a football season and the players who have had great seasons, BOTTOM LINE!! Lets make a push for this and make this award regain some respect.

  20. DOES ANYONE HAVE A MIDSTATE JAMBOREE SCHEDULE? DON'T NEED INDIVIDUAL GAMES, JUST WHO IS HOSTING AND ON WHAT DAY. THANKS
  21. First, I don't coach squat. Been there, done that in a place where I gave more than you would ever imagine so an administration could only see me as an inconvience and would put up roadblock after roadblock, but when I had parents start threatening me for how I did the job, I realized that this school didnt care about me, my family, or my players and our mission, nor did they even appreciate what had been done for the past dozen years. You are correct about the trickle down effect but that was exactly what had happened during the pre-civil rights movement until Someone said NO-Not anymore. Social media don't give you a "no rules, no concequences " stage to let your mind be heard. People think its a covered stage to say what they want. That is not nor never should be allowed. I'm as social media as they come. If you follow my football radio show or my all star game, you will know that I apologize if I didn't read your other posts before saying that. You are correct. No matter the place, little Johnny's mom and dad will have agendas. At one time, I had parents who never said a word to me nor anywhere else. I had one who later came to me to say they didn't understand why I did what I did with their son during his freshman year until his junior year, and apologized to me when I had actually never heard them say a word. They said they couldn't see through their clouded mind. Are you saying that if Brown hired a Purvis assistant, everything would be cool? I'm sorry but Pro or Negative Purvis, his era ended. Nothing wrong stepping outside the box. Heck, going to a substate Is winning. They had a great year Yeah, Carter changed some things they were not accustomed to, but change isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is a good discussion. Sounds like we should be in the state legislature.
  22. QuickStrike What do you mean by this post? You said it will be a 3 ring circus every year with this coaching change, search, etc. was a circus. Why?? What do you want?? What could happen/happened to remove the "circus" status? I don't know if you are a parent/player/donor/just plain nuts or what, but you sound like you would be a parent. Here is the problem with you all at MJ. You use the game of baseball and that program as a status symbol among your friends and family. You all want instant gratification and to use your sons to make you look good. It's no different than buying a $500,000 home but not having furniture in it. You want to be perceived on the outside. At games, I hear the MJ "CREW" questioned why coach didn't steal, and if he did steal, would question that too. That's one example. You think it's all about D1. "My kid is a D1". The bottom line is this: Parents on Twitter or Facebook blasting a high school baseball coach for any reason is BUSH LEAGUE!! Thats called cancer and it will eat an entire program from existence. Parents' roles are to support and care for, not analyze, or stir the pop........unless its a chili pot in the concession stand. I rather lose with hard working, great helping and caring people than win and it be a blood bath or stressful pack of wolves. In five years nobody will know the starting lineup or the team record or actually won't and should care. MJ is a great program. Has great players. Juggernaut I can't say that. At the end of the day it's about the lives you touched and the lives you positively touched. It's about the relationships you build, not how many wins or rings you have on your finger. Those things are not gonna impress Peter at the gates. I'm gonna ask my original question to you or FightinIllini or any other person in the MJ Baseball ring know......I mean Gold. What is it you all want??? What would make you all happy and shut the circus down????
  23. I suspended a player for telling me to kiss his ____ on Twitter because I was bringing them in to hit at 6:30am. I also approached the principal about another kid (not a baseball player) who popped off. The school couldn't do anything bc he didn't do it on school grounds, on school time, or on school equipment. He didn't threaten me so it was nothing school could do, but his football coach really blasted him and threatened to suspend him for his actions. The Supreme Court has ruled on this. Don't like it - Don't play!!
