  1. Soody plays Blackman at 10:00 friday morning.
  2. State update, Here are some answers to your questions. It's not raining in Memphis. Baylor beat Ryan 4-1, I think . Goodpasture won, Beech won, Marshal Co won, Hope this brings everyone up to date.
  3. Ladyadmiral & Allsportsfan, Here we go. The first game in AAA will be the main factor in this one. IF Soddy beats Beech, I go with Soddy winning the whole thing. Same with Beech. The wild card is Dickson Co. In any case, I really believe these three teams are the best. The best pitching staff by far is Beech. This will be very important if you go into the loser bracket early. This will happen in both brackets. Soddy is riding Waters. If she can throw every game, they will be very tough to beat. If Beech beats them in the first game and DC also wins; I look for DC and Beech to battle for the championship. This class is going to be a real barn burner. Beech has a lot riding this year with 7 starting Seniors and Soddy had ( I believe 6 ) starting Freshman. The picture will be clearer on Wednesday. Ya got to love it!!!! P.S. Allsportsfan, I watched St. Benedict play eary in the year, and this was the weakest team I have seen in several years. They may have had a bad game when I saw them.
  4. Redbaron, I also go with your picks. IF Beech beats Soddy in the first game, I think they will win it. Everyone is overlooking Dickson County. With Beech and Soddy going at it early, Dickson County has the better draw. Farragut is good, but they have not played Soddy, Beech, DC, Riverdale, CC, etc. If they had been in any tourn. where they had beat the BIG boys, I would place them higher. Dickson Co. catches Farragut first. I believe they will beat Farragut. DC has also been there, and I don't think Farragut has been in a very long time; if at all. This give an added advantage to DC. I also don't see DC getting beat before they meet Soddy or Beech. On the other divisions, I agree with Goodpasture, Baylor, Libscomb.
  5. STD, I'm in Florida, and need to know the scores of Beech & WC if you have them. Did you guys win the district and against whom???
  6. JJ810, If you talk to any body who watched that National Championship team of the Nashville Eagles, they were all great players. They are the best team I have seen play out of Nashville. I believe everyone played division I ball or could have.
  7. Yes, games are rain out today.
  8. I believe Brooke Siebel holds the all time strikeout record for this state. I will have to check this out to be sure, but I believe she may have held the national title or place second in the entire country up to the time she completed her HS career. Give me a few days to check out and I will find out for sure. If Ezell reads this ( Nat B. ), please talk with Brooke the next time you see her to confirm.

    Allison Tyree

Congrad to Allison Tyree. Great article!!! It must be in the genes of your family. Many people may not know how great your sister was. You have had a great career at Brentwood, and wish you the best in college. Where are you planning on attending college??? Do you plan on following sister to Georgia?? Your dad will be lost without watching you and Michelle play.
  10. FPFanatic, Thanks for the reply. Your correct that I don't see the everyday events at any of these programs. I just try to offer a non bias observation based on many years of coaching and watching players. I value your comments, as I have been impressed with your post over the past few years. I see you do know ball. I'm not looking for an argument, but a sharing of opinion from everyone. I have had players that have attended school at Goodpasture, DA, Hendersonville, Franklin, Ezell, Beech, etc. I just love the game and watching the level of play improve every year. Most of the people who are on here do a great job, and the people who really know ball have great insight into a lot of issues. I may have been a little touchy on your comment about analyze your own team. I watch most all the good teams in this state during the year, and try to offer no emotional comments. I know how it is when your child is playing; you sometimes lose perspective on things. Know what I mean?? I really want Hendersonville to do well, and just can't understand what is going on with them this year. My daughter did attend Beech many years ago, and was a really good player. She also played summer ball with most all the great player during her time, including girls from Hendersonville. I still look foward to the continued exchange of ideas. lol.
  11. Redbaron & Tennbasile, I will have the district info tomorrow night. If you need it, I will post.
  12. Deadeye, please keep us posted on how the district works out for you guys. Please post all scores you can. Thanks.
  13. Tennbasile, Here we go again!! Hendersonville beats another good program. This has to be the strangest year I have ever seen from Hendersonville, and I go back to Jamie Scott days if any of you remember her. The first great player Hendersonville program had. Redbarron, do you remember her???
  14. Redbarron, Sorry, I will be in Knoxville this week and miss most of the games. That is why I really rely on you to keep us informed on what is happening and scores. Hope to see some district games, but will be out of town on business until Thursady May 13. Please post whatever happens. I really appreciate your help. Looks like district may line out like this Hendersonville, Lavergne or Smyrna, WC will have to play each other, Beech Smyrna or Lavergne, White house will match up. What do you think???
  15. Redbaron, Thanks for the update. I agree with you that it appears they just have letdowns. From what I have seen, they do this after one of their great wins. The next game they look like they have never played. That is why I disagree with FpFanatic about player rotations, injuries, change in line ups, etc. This does not explain routine plays. On TENNBASILE comment, you are right on with that statement. I see the best teams fall into that mode. The coach is very good and had always had his teams prepared in the past, that is why I made the comment about the team being so fickle, and believe it is lack of player focus. So please don't jump on me to hard FPFanatic. Good to share opinions with you guys.
  16. Redbarron, Thanks for the update. Do you have any other scores?? Congrad to Hendersonville on a fine win. I told you Hendersonville could beat WC. What did you think of the verval exchange between FpFanatic and myself?? I'm I off base on this one. I would appreciate your comments on this, since you really follow Hendersonville more.
  17. FPFanatic, Don't be SO hard on me. I do agree with part of your statement, but some of the reasons you mentioned does not explain errors where the ball is hit straight to you, or overthrows, poor batting against weaker pitching, etc. Rotations, line up changes, injuries, etc. doesn't cause this. MOST of the time this is caused by lack of player focus. You are correct that I don't know all the facts, and any internal issues. By the way, I would almost bet that I have watched Hendersonville a lot longer than you have. I had many Hendersonville players play for me over the years, so the comment to analize my own team does not apply. I look at them all; and just try to give a non bias opinion because I have no emotional attachment to any of them. lol.
  18. FPFanatic, I do not see the player rotations, injuries, etc. that you mentioned. I just watch the game as a spectator and can't understand the ups and downs they have been going thru. Your correct that this makes a big difference, but why do they play so well against the good teams, yet lose to weaker teams. The games they won; they did not beat themselves. The games I've seen where they lost, they made simple errors and just didn't play smart. I think this is lack of mental focus.
  19. Sportnut, RIGHT ON. These two foxes were just working on plays and trying things out. Many people who don't know these two, know they could care less about win/ loss records. They know when it counts. I agree with Ezell that IF they wanted to play for real, my vote goes to Goodpasture. Riverdale will be a real force to deal with next year. Give Jeff this year to get his plan and players in position, and lord help everyone next year.
  20. Redbaron, I don't believe Wilson Central will be upset. They are playing good ball right now. IF any team can do it, I believe Hendersonville can. Hendersonville is the most fickle team I have seen this year. I watched them play great teams and win, yet lose to weaker teams. Andy has to be pulling his hair out on this. As to unioncounty comments, Beech did step it up a notch. The Hendersonville lost may have put a fire under them. They took care of business at Lexington tourn.
  21. Ladytigersoftball, Please post your schedule for next week. With the rain this week, I did'nt know if the schedule changed. I plan on making one of your next week of May3-7. Let me know. Thanks.
  22. Redbaron, before I hear it from you, you win this one. Hendersonville played a good game, and the pitching was good. I believe it's the same girl that pitched against Soddy. Let me know if it is. She did a good job. Congrad to Andy and his team.
  23. Ladytigersoftball, My plan is to try and see one of your games next week. I need to go to Knoxville and Middlesboro KY. on business. This is when I was going to try and make a game. I leave for a tourn in Lexington KY. on Thursday, so this week is out. I will keep in touch. Best of luck to your team.
  24. Uhssoftball, I agree with you guys on East TN. umps being a little behind the rest of the state. We have played many tourn. in Knoxville over the years; and yes, they have been worst than most places. They were bad for all teams, not just the visitors. The umpires out of Chattanooga, Nashville, Jackson, Cookville, etc. do a pretty good job. All areas have a few that are not what they should be, but everyone has that problem.
