  1. Inproved!! He put on 15 lbs. of muscle and did not lose any speed (maybe faster)

The kind of player that Emery is, im sure he doesnt like people getting on here and tooting his horn. Its going to be a team effort on both parts but govolsknox is right. Emery vs Kolinsky is going to be a treat for sure. If memory serves me right, I believe Emery wears 30.

  2. I gotta say, it sounds like Grace may be getting too big for their britches. I understand how good it feels when you're part of a losing program, and that begins to turn to around but guys, the more talking you do here, the more of a bullseye you're going to have on your back when you go to the country to play these boys who eat, sleep and breathe football. Take the advice of a former 1A private school player, its alot easier to take down a lion if he doesn't know you're coming.

  3. I do not think God takes sides in a football game. It was a response to a pompous comment from a CAK poster.

Saying that God was the reason CAK defeated Cloudland could lead to Grace winning more.

Oh yeah? After reading this whole thing over again, I sure hope youre not referring to me as the "pompous" CAK poster? The only one who really mentioned God was pujo and I know hes not from CAK, so... enlighten us Sheila, please.

  4. Thats one I'll never forget,I think the whole town went numb. I still believe a higher power took that one over.

Haha i think id have to have to agree. Good to see that these old message boards are still good for reminiscing. That is a night that will always be high up on my list of best nights ever. Hope everything is going well for you pujo.

  5. does anyone know how ETSU will be giving out their scholarships for the first season? Are they going to all they players they've brought in for the club team the last couple years? All incoming freshmen? Im very curious to know how a team gets off the ground floor.

  6. Saw this too. I'm very proud of Keenan. Id say that its pretty safe to say hes received the first D1 offer in CAK's short football program's history. Since Air Force runs the Wing-T i believe it is, do they need fullbacks? I guess I'm just not very familiar with the Wing-T but isn't it two wing backs and a tailback? Or are the wing backs the tailbacks and the tailback is the fullback. Whatever the case, I'm very curious to see who else offers and whether or not Kolinsky, who is a stud left handed pitcher also, will choose baseball over football.

  7. Oh, haven't you heard?????? They are preseason #1 in the state!!!!!

No for real. Im a former player of Strickland and im just curious of how he is doing. Im not here to say which Morgan County team is going to beat the others, which for my money, is a moot point. Id just like to get an update on how Strickland is doing.

  8. And who was the goal scorer last year when tarr scored all five goals in the state tournament and that wil be CAK's plan again so I would agree with wbcsoccerstud

Ever heard the phrase, "if you've got it, flaunt it"?

  9. Congratulations coach. I didnt know that you were so close to this accomplishment. This is a very public forum for something that I take with such personal pride but I want you to know that the few times that you have allowed me to represent your program have been some of my favorite moments as far as sports are concerned. Thank you very much coach and I cant wait for camps/HHI.

  10. Battle Ball worked VERY nicely. I lined all the boys up on the base line of the gym and told them to partner up. This is usually followed by hard conditioning, so they all groaned. I then told them for one partner to go to the other side, and had my assistant bring out the battle balls. They were pumped (I don't know if it was more of a relief from sprints or the love of smashing a ball into one of your friends or coaches bodies!)

We played for a solid hour, and had an absolute blast. The football and basketball coaches came in and were quite puzzled. I told them this is a standard conditioning practice for all soccer teams. They just nodded, and then joined in! My team got crushed the entire hour! Let me tell you, though, it felt VERY good to pummel those boys with those battle balls! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I suggest this highly to any team that needs to have a little fun!

Gaw, battle ball. The second best game in the history of P.E. time fillers. I really am disappointed to hear that you didnt take advantage of the game of all games, Super Extreme Destructo Crazy Ball. That would've really puzzled the other coaches.

  11. Good for Brandon. I was very disappointed originally when I heard he was not going to be playing. Not because I wanted so desperately for my alma mater to win another title but because I knew that one day he would have regretted not playing his senior year with the guys he has grown up. I think this is excellent for all involved. High school sports is about having fun, not being as cutthroat as you possibly can to a bunch of 14-18 year olds, whether you believe they are boys or young men.

  12. Turtle, I guess you won the game against Hampton by the grace of God. I guess you guys are the only ones who even attend Church? I didn't realize God let you guys win because everybody else is just a bunch of sinners! I think this "holier than thou" attitude is why most people hate the geeks at private schools anyway. We are so blessed just to be in your presence o perfect ones. I have nothing against any of the players and am glad that he(Wannamaker) has a chance to get his life straight. If you really believe all of those players who transferred are there for anything but sports, you are very nieve. I just don't see how you can sit there and believe it is fair for you guys to recruit and play in the same classifications as teams who can't. It has nothing to do with the game, because Hampton blew the game and only have themselves to blame for that. Something needs to done about this unless cheating is just part of your so called "Chistian" ways. Recruiting is cheating and that is what you are doing. Don't worry though, most of the other single A teams at the State tournament do it the same way you guys do so at least you guys will be on the same level cheating playing field. My the best cheater win!

Sounds like somebody got beat by Grace on their way to practicing their baseball swing.... I can all but promise you that if a kid is going to go to a private school for sports in Knoxville, its going to be Webb, Catholic or CAK first, Grace second. I would say that these kids probably just did things a little bit better than everyone else. As far as I know, all you need to have to get better at basketball is a ball and a hoop. I could be wrong. Id guess that every school in TN playing basketball has those two things somewhere at their disposal. Grace was just one of the 8 best at doing so. Congratulations Grace on your success. As a former private school kid who got the same treatment as we beat a bunch of public schools en route to some pretty good athletic teams, just recognize that everyone that you beat that plays for a public school is going to cry foul and say you need to be in a different division. Sad thing is, most of the time at least, its the old men and the "fence walkers" just trying to re-live their glory days through an online message board. Just keep doing your thing and represent the last remaining faction of private schools left in 1A. Everyone should have known it was just a matter of time as the young kids at Grace were taking their whippings like men that eventually they would be juniors and seniors giving them out. Good luck at state Rams and I, as I am sure all the other private schools around here do to, would love to see you bring a 1A state title to Knoxville.

  13. Coaches evolve: You can always tell a new young coach, because he does the sprints with his players.

Well, as you know, I hope to be a coach one day. I think you and I both know I will never run sprints with my players. Maybe thats just cause i've been a coach in my head for a long time but thats besides the point.

  14. Heart. They have over achieved all year if you ask me and its because their Seniors have miles and miles of heart. They play for 48 minutes each and every week. They may not be the fastest or the strongest but they play excellent technique. They play together as one and with more heart than any other team they have played this year. GO DCA!

good luck with your miles and miles of heart against alcoa's fastest and strongest.

  15. Joei was an incredibly talented high school quaterback who did get looked at by several quality programs such as UGA, Louisville, UNC, NC State, and South Carolina his problem was in the realm of academia not on the gridiron this struggle is largley due to but not entirely attributed to AHS's ridiculously strenuous academic procedures which have also caused lindsey sykes and shiverdecker to not get into major schools out of high school. I have seen Fiegler, Cobb, George, Joey Garland, and Ben Watkins play for the maroon and gray so don't tell me who I need to watch I've seen every quaterback that played for Alcoa since the mid 90's. Fiegler played in Reid's system which was much more complex than Rankins, under Reid on every pass play the QB had at least three options usually five to check through, Rankins pass plays are designed for the quaterback to look to one option sometimes there might be a second then to look for the back on a flare, and thirdly then run; for joei running was usually the sixth option. I don't want to here Randal makes better decisions the system is designed for him not to make decisions. Randal is an absolutely awesome player and I think he has the ability to be an all SEC receiver he is just not going to play quaterback for the wildcats, I would like to see him at qb but it would definatley be a surprise.

I have no association with Alcoa but have seen numerous games over the past few years and must say that Randall Cobb is not only a better quarterback than Joei Fiegler but if both quarterbacks are the same age, Joei Fiegler is the starting clipboard holder. My grandmother, bad back and all, couldve quarterbacked Fiegler's teams to a state championship. Lets say, for example, Randall Cobb had the opportunity to throw to Brandon Warren and Kyrus Lanxter and have the privilege of handing the ball off to Dustin Lindsey and Chris Shiverdecker all in the same season. Does he not also have top 10 stats in every major passing category? Id say so. With all due respect to Troy Hodge and Sam Thompson, Cobb doesnt have nearly the arsenal of weapons that Fiegler had. If memory serves correctly, Fiegler threw 3 passes. Bubble screen, slant, fly. I am pretty sure Cobb could do that. In my opinion, Cobb is 1B on best pure athletes to come from Alcoa with Brandon Warren being 1A. Quarterbacking, nobody has done a better job than Randall Cobb. Taking your posts into consideration, smarterstpersonalive, I am forced to believe nothing less than you are, in fact, Joei Fiegler's mother. Happy Thanksgiving Mrs. Fiegler.
