  1. man eagleflight, the refs mustve been awful if there was a 22 point swing in CAK's favor.... who are you kidding? anyone who watched that game saw that CAK played miserable the first half and was still the better team. a FB dive can only take you so far. You might need to pass that along for playoff football.

  2. can someone explain to me how Loudon wins the region if they win this game? That would make 3 teams with 1 loss. Loudon beats Alcoa, Alcoa beats CAK, CAK beats Loudon. How would the tiebreaker work? Now, i dont think Loudon is going to win. but i am curious about the tiebreaker situation.

  3. I cant imagine that the defense is being changed all that much if any. Maybe bringing another backer onto the line for a 62. I remember we always did some pretty fun things like our mustang/3-5 defense but i cant imagine the defensive coaches switching things up too much.

  4. i bet 4 pages of CAK victory is really firing up the Webb boys. Never a great idea to give good players bulletin board material. I remember one time getting yelled at for doing just that when we did it to cloudland.... nevermind, you youngsters dont want to hear a story from an old fogie like myself. go have fun Warriors and dont let #5 beat you.

  5. I believe you're mistaken... #5 hardly plays.

Okay PowerSweep, i must be mistaken...Oh wait, #5 Jeffrey Johnson, scored a special teams touchdown a couple weeks back. Plays the second TE in the two-tight formation. Carried the sword last season as a junior, i believe he wore #88 last season. Dont tell me if you think im mistaken, i know what i am talking about.

  6. You're joking, right? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

No, why would I be? #5 is a heck of a player. I am a CAK alumnus and i know that if my old team wants to win, theyre going to have to contain #5.

  7. Wow i sound like Coach Bradley...

Thats not such a bad thing. I know who you are bucsfan and im really impressed with your play this season. I believe you were, at one point, the 5th string quarterback and our scout team meat to feed on. Quite the turn around. After talking with a player that has a large role on this year's team, i have decided that this team has got it going on. They know why theyre playing, and who theyre playing for. Please keep to it.

  8. i will say that this might be the best team cak has ever had....now i know it is young in the season but this team does not look like they are slowing down....This program has wanted a state tilte along time...but yet they can not over look a team like Page, from what i here is that page has a really good coach and builds teams up pretty fast...this will not be a team CAK can take slightly and i dont think they will....but i take CAK by 24 points

and you might be absolutely nuts. what program hasnt wanted a state title? if this team gets to 6-0, then i think it may be fair to talk this way. youre a wrestling fan, how bout you beat the man before you claim to be the man, huh?

  9. I think CAK has the advantage because they have and outstanding passing attack and a running game that suprises there opponents. CAK also has good defense and good kickers/punters Loudon will have trouble defending CAK's talent but I say CAK by 10

Good to know CAK has good kickers. By the way, CAKPK85, who could you possibly be?... Honestly, kids today and their originality.

  10. Ive heard youre quite the player too McCoy. Better than your brother is the word around the Academy. Now you just gotta get on the field and show it. This will be the game of the week in East Tennessee football as far as I am concerned. Its going to come down to which defense can shut down the other team's specialties better. Warrior rush defense vs Redskin pass defense.

  11. This is how you judge a football team...You have a strategy, you go out to execute and all of a sudden you get hit in the mouth. What do you do? Nothing against Boyd, but I think CAK is going to get hit in the mouth in the first quarter. Cherokee is going to try to come out and try and prove they are more physical than "some rich kid from CAK who has grown up with a silver spoon in his mouth". Now the question is, how will they respond after that first punch is thrown and there lip is bloodied. I think that defines a team, everyone can give good effort when you are ahead, but what happens when you are behind. I think Cherokee will take it to CAK in the first half, I also believe that CAK can win this one in the second half. But you have to man up and fight back. You have to throw a couple of body shots, mix in a jab, then hit them with a 60 yard hay maker. Take the Fight to Cherokee!

You make it sound like this is a new concept to the Warriors. Every team CAK has played since 2002 has had that same mentality. I dont expect Cherokee to surprise the Warriors in any way. The same things that are being said about this Cherokee team were said about the Johnson County teams they have played in the past. Good luck Warriors.

  12. CAK played Asheville School as recent as last year and beat them 40-0. They've scrimmaged a couple teams that have run similar offenses. Hopefully that will give them something to go on in how to stop this offense. If Cherokee doenst have much speed then they may have trouble stopping CAKs speed on offense. If CAKs linebackers and line play smart then they could maybe stop this offense. I say its a close one but CAK by 7.

Asheville didnt run the run the Wing-T last season.

  13. I'm just tellin it how it is...I currently go to CAK and I do remember Boyd Buchanan coming in and taking care of business 37-6 4 or so years ago, however i don't think it will turn out too much like the last one. From what i hear, Boyd has had down years ever since their god, matt peardon, graduated a few years back. Sure he was legit with a line that manhandled the competition that 2003 season, but the man acted like he walked on water. Maybe i'm being extremely irrelevant because most people reading this have no clue who i'm talking about, but CAK is ready for some revenge. The year after we lost to Boyd in the semifinals, we put in our locker room what Matt Peardon told the newspaper saying something along the lines of, "CAK was not what we thought. My line made holes for me and I ran through and over them all night" After saying something like that, he just motivated our team even more. The point i'm trying to make is CAK cannot stand Boyd Buchanan and if ur a Bucs fan, look forward to a long drive home. Bring the band, come hungry to eat our great concessions whatever but the ride home is gonna be rough. Boyd doesnt have any stand out players and to be honest i dont think CAK does either, but i can promise you my boy Joseph Bennett is the real deal. He may not be the biggest, but he's fast and will hit you and will make the tackle just about every play. Our O-Line, specifally my boy Joe Matlock, is legit, disciplined at the passing game of course and running this year as well. Our D-line, my boy Matt Huddleston, is good, but our linebackers and secondary are what makes most of the plays. Our Defense is fast so get ready. Quarterback and Runningbacks are both strong. The passing game as well as the running game should be good. I like to be reasonable, so reasonably i see CAK beating Boyd by 14-20, maybe more. CAK will lose some games this year i believe, but as far as Boyd, it just wont happen. It's a good home opener but competitor, not so much. I Look forward to seeing Boyd's "600" fans tomorrow, again i'm just tellin it how it is...gonna be!

Unfortunately, this joker has made some valid points. Im not going to get into them because its been 4 years since and the only people who probably have any idea of what that game was like were some of the 8th graders that were moved up to the HS team for the playoffs like Stooksbury, Matlock, Underwood, Sanford and a few others. So tellinithowitis, i dont think youre completely crazy and it sounds like you have some sort of knowledge about what happened. I cant imagine it would be too difficult to figure out who I am so come find me at the game and let me know who you are. I really hope CAK takes this one. It would be a great way to start the season beating a team that is on the same level competitively as they are. Good Luck Warriors.

  14. A good question might be who has the biggest shoes to fill. In other words, who graduated the most skill players that need to be replaced? For instance, I know CAK graduated their tall player. Did they graduate any other key players?

Yeah, Rachel Denton #11. I think she played center mid but dont quote me on that. Keeper Megan Daniels also graduated.

  15. I've always been confused by all district teams. I dont think this should be called the all district team. If im making a legit all district team, im taking the best players from CAK and Catholic and making a team out of that.

  16. QUOTE(CYJacket @ Jun 8 2007 - 04:55 PM) 826473025[/snapback]Same as last year removing Copper Basin and Cumberland Gap inserting Grace Christian in Knox, and A. C. York A. I. Include Hampton in round three. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Its a shame you guys are going to get a 1/4 of the game from Grace as all the CAK games were. Gaw, those were the days, werent they CY?

I'll give a little to find out more. Young team last year. No pun intended. Seems like it took Cates a while to get going as the QB that had to follow in the footsteps of Rhichard Harb, but by the second half of the season, he seemed to much more relaxed. I like their chances this year. not ready to go out on a limb and say they will knock off Alcoa, but they hung with them as well as most in 2005 when CAK had a more seasoned team. They just got waxed last year. Defense should be very strong. Bennett is one of the better LBs in the area, and I believe already has one offer in the bag from Ohio University (MAC). Wes Stooksbury, and Bo Stanford also return. Trevor Brown who came out of nowhere last yr and Cates should along with Jay Scott provide solid secondary coverage. Up front, I know the Ritchie kid is back, but I think the rest are gone. On offense, Stooksbury is back @ OG, Matlock @ RG, and Matt Huddleston @ OT. The Moran kid should be back @ WR, Fromke if things remain the same could split out, and Logan is back @ RB. They will continue to improve, and become more competitive each yr. Took out Rockwood @ the end of the season for a big win. Perhaps they will have some additions that can provide some depth. Still too many playing both ways. Had a good LB/FB by the name of Kolinsky that I thought was still playing, but heard though the mill that he is focused on baseball. Also don't know what the wind up was with a OL/DL by the name of Witt? Both those kids were promising as far as having the athletic potential to play on Saturdays.

    ruse?

There is no Witt. His last name is Worthen and he is back at South Doyle. Derron Logan, no relation, graduated and is playing at Maryville College. If Kolinsky decides to quit football to focus on baseball it will be a shame. The kid doesnt strike me as big time college baseball material and would have a chance to be as stud a tailback as CAK has had in Rusty Bradley's offense.
