Actually, I think if I heard correctly, Lighthouse called Dresden because Dresden only had 9 games and was on the TSSAA website looking for a game. I don't think anyone knew anything aobut how good they were but everyone needs to play 10 games because of tie-breakers. 2 years ago Union City only played 9 games and was 7-2, tied for 2nd in the region but because of tie breakers ended up 4th and was the 2nd best team. As far as how tough a schedule is, well 5 games are region and they are Humboldt, Trenton, Westview, Milan, and Union City. The region decides when those games are played. The non-region, Gibson Co. Lihgthouse, S.Fulton, McKenzie, and Camden. Dresden since they are fairly new to 2a and play 1a basketball don't have very many rivalries in 2a so that is the reason S. Fulton is on there, it is a rivalry game for both teams. whether the schedule is tough or not, all the regions teams play so the best teams will go to the playoffs in 7-2a, it doesn't matter about the out of region schedule.

I'm hearing that Humboldt wants this one bad!!!!! They feel liek they should have won last year and want some revenge on Dresden. I have a feeling they are going to come out fired up and try to run Dresden off the field. The winner will be the one who doesn't turn the ball over. Dresden cannot give up big plays and must make Humboldt beat them. Should be a good one.

Correct meif I'm wrong, but I think that this game is not until week 8. That means both teams hae 6 more games before that one and it will not mean anything if they don't take care of business before then. Shouldn't worry about this one yet. Hopefully it will be a big game win it gets here.

I've been hearing around here that Gibson is a much improved team. I was listening to the coach's show Sat. morning and Coach Argo seemed really excited about the season. Has anyone seen them scrimmage? I've been hearing good things about Lavora Brooks, I've even heard that he has been so impressive that we may go to the I formation to get him the ball more, any truth to that? I hpoe everything I'm hearing is true. Good luck Pioneers this year and I'll be there Friday night to cheer you on.

Is there a jamboree at Dyersburg Friday Aug. 22? If so who is playing in it? I think there is and Lake Co. will be there but I'm not sure who else.

I don't know, but didn't I read that you were from Dresden? Are you still in school? If not when did you graduate? Just curious. I know some people that went to Dresden.

Is Gibson Co. that good or Lake Co. that bad? Gibson has a 23 game losing streak I think. I haven't heard much about them. I know they scrimmage West Carroll and tied 1-1. What do you think about them for the upcoming season. Any speed? Big up front?

Huntingdon is probably the most physical team I have seen in several years. The have a great shot to go all the way. As good as anyone. Big, strong, and fast. They were real impressive. Good luck to both teams, I think both teams found some positive (obviously more for Huntingdon, but Dresden put together some good drives when they didn't turn it over). I also feel like both found things that they need to work on. Dresden busted a few long runs to teh fullback. Huntingdon is very good and I expect great things out of them this year.

I was not questioning anyone's intelligence, just curious how you could be a better running back and be there if you didn't play for WC. So since you played for Dresden 100 years ago, I would like to think that you would not put post on here downing kids in high school. Great if you were better, but since you no longer play I really don't think anyone cares, people forget an move on. I'm not bashing you are anyone else, but there is no reason to put down any high school kids on a public board such as this for not being the greatest player, most are giving it their all.

Did you go to the scrimmage? Who won? Do you play for West Carroll? If not then how are you going to be at the scrimmage since you are a more powerful and explosive running back? Just curious.

I'm not bashing anyone but football games are won on the FIELD!!!! It doesn't matter what is said on a message board. I don't know a whole lot about the teams in this region but from what I have heard it is Milan and then everyone else. I've been told that with a few breaks here and there anyone could win teh rest of the games. Dabear, I saw your post about the Huntingdon scrimmage the other day, are you from there? If so what are their chances of going all the way? Can tehy beat Milan? Also why are you so down on certain coaches? Not bashing just curious? Do you know more about the situation than others? I don't knwo just would liek to know what made you come to this conclusion, is it a one time thing at a game or more? Thanks

Does anyone know how the scrimagges involving the 2a teams in Northwest TN turned out? Union City, Trenton, Humboldt, Dresden, Huntingdon, Westview?

Jeff Chandler was named the new Union City Girls coach according to the Union City Messenger on the internet. What does everyone think about this? Can he turn the program around?

Milan is going to be tough. I think there will be some surprises in the Region though. I think Union City is the second best team and after that I feel like Dresden may be the 3rd best team. Who knows? Westview lost all their playmakers and is going to be down. Trenton had abunch of seniors I think and I don't know much about Humboldt. I say Milan, UC, Dresden, and WEstview will go to the playoffs.

Any news on who is going to be hired as the new coach?

I've also heard that the position had been filled but no name was mentioned. Not sure who it woudl be but I've heard Curt Lee turned it down.
