  1. i dont know if anyone has noticed but i saw where the tennessean had lebanon ranked 8th out of all classifcations in the paper. thats pretty awesome but at the same time i will be realistic and question if that is just or not. i loved seeing it but 8th out of every team??? thats insane. i mean i agree that 5A will 9 times out of 10 beat the best 3A and below teams but thats a mighty high ranking for lebanon. i am very preoud of the devils and good luck against cookeville.
  2. once again i wasnt at the game b/c i go to school in mississippi, but i heard the crowd wasnt as big for lebanon as it should have been. i heard the crowds used to be bigger when we went 1-9, 4-6, 7-4, 4-6. since i am about their same age and went to school with them, i am going to blame lebanon's student crowd b/c we used to be nuts at all sporting events, and it seems to just get weaker. i guess it was our fault we didnt teach them. hope we take a huge crowd to cookeville next week . im very proud of my boys in this senior class. Go Devils!!
  3. i wasnt at the game last night but judging by the score and all the comments...it sounds like coffee co. to lebanon is like lebanon to riverdale. in your minds you know its possible to win but you have to dig REALLY deep to do so. i played for alot of mediocre lebanon teams with tons of potential that we never got to use, so i know where yall are coming from. when i was a stupid player i used to get on here and say the same things. and when it comes to recent success i think lebanon is in about the same boat as you...new coach, two consec. years in the playoffs, senior led team, and not much success after first round. lebanon must have played an awesome games and took advantage of mistakes which is what you have to do. no matter if they were forced or unforced turnovers. give lebanon some credit and dont worry about the score. it used to happen to us and it didnt change me as a person. its just somethig you have to live with honestly.
  4. just curious as to why you picked cookeville over lebanon 2nd round...im not even suggesting they are a shoe in to win first round but i think if they do get a big playoff win under their belts then they will show cookeville who is boss the next week. (if cookeville gets passed Central)
  5. i checked out nunley's stats ans i saw he had over 2000 yards, seems like he is the real deal. justin johnson has 996 rushing, over 200 receiving and probably around the same return yards. johnson isnt a big kid he just seems holes very well and is shifty. what is nunley's running style and how big is he?
  6. i was curious about the nunley kid so i checked out his stats and found out that he has over 2000 yards...that is pretty amazing i would say. i believe the kid is goo but my only comment is that lebanon can play defense against him because they have done it this year already with the same calibur of backs.
  7. did you say coffee county has a better coach??? are you kidding me?
  8. i have no doubt that "jake" is a great player but what makes you think is better than orona and johnson or the RB's from blackman or the double RB's from antioch? and what makes you think coffee county can hold down justin johnson, todd cross, sergio williams, and kenny sallis? im not trying to start a fight im just curious. this is a very hot and confident...not cocky...team right now and im excited to hear the results of the game. due to another obligation i wont be able to come home and see this one but hopefully i can go to the second round. Go Devils...and i hope the 2nd round is @ Lebanon which means wilson central has to beat cookeville. Go Wilson County!
  9. there has been really good conversation on next week's game so far but im curious as to how these 2 teams can be so closely compared when you think about the teams leabnon has played and the teams lebanon has beaten. what do these guys have that smyrna doesn't? i mean is the RB already signed with miami or something? lebanon has proved that they can play with most teams and even contain some of the better players in the state and no one has convinced me that coffe county has any great chance in taking lebanon down. im not dissing them i just want some more information on their team.
  10. from what it sounds like, siegel isnt very good but i still want the devils to fight till the end so we can put some young guys in on the senior dominated team. someone tell coach mike bartlett from siegel i said whats up if anyone knows him. he might coach (baseball) at the middle school but im not sure. go devils and i will try and get HOME to watch the first round from the new seat backs at the house that Bobby Brown built. Take it to siegel so young guys can get in and get a feel for what its like.
  11. Does anyone have any accuarate rushing, passing, receiving, tackling stats for the top players and teams in this region. i would like to know how each individual matches up with each other.
  12. does anyone know if there is actually a 1st and second all-region team or just 1 team made up of random players?
  13. the GROVE is one of the biggest tailgates for college football in the nation at the campus of OLE MISS. there is a fairly high amount of spirits consumed and it can wear a guy out. its very nice to have a week where the grove is not a factor. i got to hear that my devils won, seminoles came back, rebels didnt have a game, and the titans will win 2morrow....what a great, relaxing weekend. about peter...i think 6'2 275 is good enough to play for ole miss. we have some big guys but then 6'2 275 is not small by any means. i would love to see him wearing the red and blue b/c the kid has develpoed into a good solid player. Riverdale: are you a state fan?? that was so funny to see florida lose to such an absolutly horrible football team. i dont like state but enjoyed the game. GO REBELS!
  14. all is well here. im having a relaxing "non-grove" weekend if that means anything to ya'll. as far as CU goes, They should be all over guys like johnson, bates, freddie hall, cross, tribble, lee, gray, sallis, boles, wharton, and even guys from last year like Q, AJ, Devin, Shock, and williams. i would say peter taylor but lets hope he represents us somewhere bigger like vandym UT, Western, or...OLE MISS! lebanon should be their main source of talent b/c our guys always get wasted or end up in the men's league with coach springer's green machine. there is no reason that all of our good guys do not go on to play college ball somewhere.
  15. lebanon - Johnson, Sallis, PETER TAYLOR #58 (how could you all forget him), then bates, cross, or boles. i wasnt there but i heard orona is just a beast so he might get some consideration for offensive MVP. does anyone have rushing stats for the season so far? i would like to know how justin johnson compares to smyrna's johnson and gaston miller.
  16. thanx for the kind words eddie but i dont think college football is for me. my happiness is more important than going back home to play ball. and im not going to walk on here although i would like to. my fraternity might get a chance to strap it on again if we bid for the charity football game here and i will show these frat boys how to play the game. kyle shaffer should be the go to guy there if he can get his ankle better...tell the coach to get a QB to throw to him b/c he is above the talent level at CU. i play flag football all the time and can still catch for sure but ive never been fast and ive never been accurately timed but im not fast. do i know you?? i always like to know the people if possible that im talking to. you could just give me a hint. well anyways i hope i can get HOME to see a playoff game but we will see
  17. im so proud of the devils. all my friends form home said it was the best atmosphere at a lebanon game there has ever been. it must be exciting for those guys and the coaches to be this good. ShaggyJ....im pretty sure i know who you are...you remember seeing me at the titans practice this summer? just let me know so i can know for sure who you are.
  18. haha we beat the dawgs. i wasnt there but i heard it was a great game and i heard orona was the real deal. great game devils i will hopefully be there to see you first round AT HOME!!!!! of all the teams in the region i wanted you all to beat smyrna more than anyone b/c they beat us in a very very very rainy game they shold not have won in 2000. good game devils!
  19. thanks for the posts about football...finally. i wish i could be in town to see this one but i wont be able to. im sure it probably is the biggest game in quite some time. we played some big ones against oakland and gallatin in 2000 that kept us in the playoffs. is anyone able to tell me the last time lebanon hosted a playoff game? i think lebanon's offense is very adequate and solid enough to wear smyrna down if thats what has to happen. coach brown is smart enough to recognize man coverage and tendencies of blitzes and all that other coaching stuff. the boys on offense this year have played since their soph. year and are very poised and have dealt with teams like this before. the guys on D are the same way and they are a very tough and quick bunch of guys. i dont doubt at all that smyrna has huge threats b/c when they were soph's they were awesome then too. i played against wolke and those two huge RB's twice. i got hit harder than i ever have against the dogs at home. a huge kid #62...Lyons maybe. it knocked me pretty silly but he outweighed me by at least 180. i hope its as good a game as you all expect but dont count lebanon's D out yet b/c they are super tough. and coach brown will scheme them to death if we dont match up talent wise.
  20. ok i scrolled through 8 pages on the other post only to find people talking about coaches and not the game this week. i am curious to hear what smyrna has??? i hear they are a big physical team and i want to know if lebanon even has a chance matching up with them in your opinion. i know in my opinion that they do, but i only saw the blackman game which they controlled. im pulling for the devils big time this week because who knows how long its been since we have had a home playoff game. this game is huge. my senior year we had the opportunity to, but choked and didnt even get in...thanks to chris grimes. good luck devils and please tell me what you think of the game and not the coaches comments. (we finally got on the Big Ones contest!!)

    Smyrna @ LeBanon

im gonna take up for coach marshall from this post because i played for him and he never cussed at us at all. his words were actually more funny than insulting and any parent who heard him yell would not ever be offended....unless "i dont give a rat's hind end" is offensive...
  22. to" Youshouldstay... i dont know you and have never seen you post. i guess you are a 1A fan?? what on earth would posses you to rank friendship christian anywhere near the top 25??? i used to live in lebanon and those guys who play for freindship will never be top 25 in football, EVER. they look good on paper but will not be able to beat any 3A-5A team. even the very mediocre ones. in my opinion, people who play ball at friendship are scared to play real football. (Im sure i just set myself up but thats the honest truth)
  23. this poll was definately a shock for me to see lebanon in the top 25 across the state but im glad it happened. the whole Lebanon-cookeville-antioch situation is pretty odd if you ask me b/c lebanon barely loses to antioch, lebanon barely beats cookeville and cookeville barely beats antioch. they all seem somewhat even to me. cookeville im guessing is top 30 no doubt.
  24. im looking forward to being able to go home and watch a game from lebanon's stadium this year. alot of improvements have been made since i was there and im anxious to check it out. the home side of the field got flip flopped b/c of the sun in the home teams eyes and because the players had to run through the visiting crowd. the press box was also moved and rebuilt with box seats that went up for auction earlier in the year and seat backs put on the top rows of seats and sold as psl's. i did not live in the frat house so i was one of the lucky ones. i have my own place with 2 roomates off campus. things are getting alot better around here for ATO. plenty of generous donations and people who have volunteered their time. when i was a senior i think i played against kenny meredith and he was tough to take down. he's a big kid and i think he actually is from lebanon but im not sure. as for the kid you all said is a playmaker...i dont doubt that he can make some big plays on all sides of the ball but judging by what ive seen and heard of lebanon, they will probably be able to easily wear blackman out. looking forward to a great game in a nicer stadium.
  25. i havent been able to witness any games this year but i will be attending my first one friday when i watch my devils take on blackman. i watched them in early spring practice and they looked to be one of the toughest teams ive seen. all the big talk is about the o-line which when i played was always very mediocre so im anxious to see what a good line looks like wearing a blue devil uniform. im very excited that lebanon is having a good year and hope it continues. i dont know anything about blackman but if lebanon plays as hard nosed and physical as i have seen then they will be tough to handle.
