  1. 94 Marion County against anybody, Marion county comes out on top. Maybe "da 85 bearrs" would have a standing chance. The severity of that kind of matchup would be too devastating.....the similance of a nuclear blast! I played for Portland that year, experienced the MIGHTY WARRIORS first hand. 2. I hope Gallatin wins. This just in, Green Wave by a touchdown. No, I'm going with one point. [Edited by danwastheman on 10-27-02 7:22P] [Edited by danwastheman on 10-27-02 7:34P]
  3. I agree REINA. I'm going with Trousdale-28 Smith County-7.
  4. Your certainly liven up the board Del. Keep them coming.
  5. I'm sure they will make it JRPANTHER. I may be proven wrong but it looks like Smith County is the only team left on Portland's schedule that can hand them a loss. Livingston is coming on strong. But, how far Portland goes in the playoffs is another matter. The win over Macon County truly impressed me. If Portland can manage a win over Smith County in the last regular season game, they will be a force to reckon with in the playoffs. Having a 10-4 team play for the state championship is not to far fetched, just look at Pearl-Cohn of 1997. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed watching the guys mature into a sound football team. 6. Portland is up 21-0 at the half!
  7. TBP, could you tell us the truth? This thread is getting a bit ridiculous.
  8. It's on 1270 AM in Portland. Unfortunately no internet broadcast. Anyone know what's going on in Macon Co. right now? [Edited by danwastheman on 9-21-02 8:15P]
  9. The score is 28-0, Trousdale in the second quarter.
  10. Wouldn't it have been a smart decision for the Portland, Trousdale game or the Smith Co., Macon Co. game to have been played around noon today and the other at the original time?.....Lot of money to be made! I know it would have tripled my pleasure this Saturday (Tennessee and Florida on the headset). Can't wait to the outcome of the above mentioned! Go Panthers
  11. I'm a Portland fan and would just like to say it's good to see Macon Co. moving up in the polls as well as Greenbrier. It has been difficult for these two teams the past ten seasons or so. I'm going with the Tigers over Smith Co. 21-14.
  12. Franklin-Simpson over Portland 43-40.
  13. He was a good quarterback for Portland, played 83-85 I believe.
  14. I'm an "Old Portland Panther." I'm just curious, who would that be heavy? [Edited by danwastheman on 9-7-02 6:30P]
  15. Portland wins 24-0, certainly not what I expected.
  16. Portland wins 42-0. Starters out by end of third.
  17. Great post tp. Portland players look no farther than your on region to find a good example of determination and will to succeed. Last year, after being beaten by more than forty points Trousdale County craved a rematch with you. Of course we know the result of that rematch and how shocking and unexpected it was. You certainly won't face White House again this season but by all means keep that bitter taste. Take it out on fourteen more opponents if need be. Think about how easy it would have been for Trousdale to lay down for you in the state quarterfinal game. Apply that to your season now. Will the Panthers lay down? Go Panthers
  18. Congratulations to Greenbrier. Looks like things are starting out on a positive note. Keep up the good work. Big test next week.
  19. I can't wait for this one folks! I have a feeling it will be one of those nights to remember and talk about for years to come. My personal favorite Portland, White House match up was during the 1994 season, the year Portland turned things around. Good luck to both teams. Go Panthers!

    Nacome

Any word on how well Portland played at Nacome (AKA heck)? [Edited by danwastheman on 8-8-02 8:31A]
  21. A small Westmoreland team laid some hard licks in the mid 90s. I was unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of one. They not only leveled people on defense but offense as well.
