  1. In my opinion he is fair with everybody but most of the people he deals with think that being fair is what ever they want.
  2. Just letting people know that Greenfield will put up it's State Runner-up banner next Friday night the 16th. More than likely it will be in between games but I will have to double check that.
  3. I wasn't trying to make it sound like you were questioning him. It's just some people make him out to be some ruthless Hitler like dictator who doesn't really care about anything. So it's ok I ain't mad or anything just putting it out there that he isn't a jerk like people think. You just have to ask the right way. And Balla are you anti-John Glisson? You say he left the program worse than when he got here. Please enlighten us on how he did so.
  4. I would rather play good quality teams (even if they have 1000 more students than us), make no money, and be prepared for the tournament's than play Big Sandy and Carroll Academy type teams, make all the money in the world, and lose in the region semi's. You get no recognition for making the most money in year. You do get recogniton for going to Murfreesboro. Play good teams, make no money because you get beat and do not have a good record but you are prepared for the tournaments or play Jr high teams, have a great record and make lots of money because who wants to see your team lose but not be prepared for the tournaments? Hmmm thats a tough one. And about the girls program, how do you think the boys program got the way it is. The only way to get better is to play teams that are better than you. To my knowledge the money from the games goes into the athletic fund which buys various things for our programs. Can't tell you what all it buys because I don't ask about the school's money situations. And if you want the $2 deal, crap just ask. My dad will listen. I am not saying he will go along with it but believe it or not he will listen to you.
  5. It is true that for us to have a good student section we have to be in the region tournament. I have no clue why but our students don't get fired up until then. I wish it was the other way around because having that big crowd that got louder as the game goes on is a huge factor. I think the thing that made a difference is back in the late 90's we were having lots of success during the year. From about 97-99 we only lost 8 games a year where as the last 3 yrs. or so we have close to that at christmas.
  6. Dresden doesn't have the Morton's or Ritz so they will be down but it doesn't matter between these two. This is one of those games that if you could only beat one team a year it would probably be this one because there is no love loss here. I am gointo pick Greenfield because 1) @ Greenfield 2) Dresden doesn't have as much fire power with those 3 out 3) I am a little biased. If this one is like any of the one's in recent history it is going to be a good one.
  7. Good to hear that everybody played and that we shot the ball well. Do you know any individual scores? I figured with a score like that Brandon, Clint, Jeremy, etc. didn't saw a lot of the second half from the bench.
  8. Was it @ Halls or @ Dyersburg? Still a big win no matter where it was.
  9. I couldn't make it to the game and was just wondering.
  10. Like ifiruledtheworld said, why is it John's fault that we only have 9 players on varsity? Did someone pack up and leave with him or something? Like he said if those 4 players were still here 2 at least would be playing for the b-team and the one for sure woule be playing maybe starting.
  11. The reason why they are down is because there is no real go to guy to score. Take Reynolds and Lil Dan out of each of thier classes and both are pretty thin. But a good side to each of those classes is that the sophmore class won the county championship in it's 8th grade year and this year's freshman and this year's 8th grade both contended for it and finished second. That is more than I can say about my 8th grade year. So there is a up side to it, but I am just saying that they just aren't very good. I am not trying to down anybody or make anybody look bad, just stating my opionion just like everybody else. And are you trying to call me out or something by the "or would you rather not" comment. Not trying to start nothing by asking but just wondering.
  12. You have the 8th graders and Soph. right but the two fresh. are Southard and I don't know his last name but his first is Jerrick. McHaney and Laster are both repeating 8th grade but are practicing with the team. And Balla another thing, who was the one building up the team and showing a positive attitude before the Westview game? I think it was you who was saying that people need to be realistic.
  13. YOU are telling ME to keep a positive attitude. Please give me another laugh. After all that crap you were saying earlier in the year about Clint. We don't need a fan like you to critcize our our older kids. And it doesn't take a genius to figure out that our younger guys are not very good. I ain't being down on em just stating the truth. You want me to lie about them and make them think that they are great. Balla, are you going to answer my question about who you are?
  14. Just wondering. If it bothers you to tell me then you don't have to but I was just wondering.
  15. Our JV team has 2 sophs. 2 fresh. and 4 8th graders. And they are horrible. Bulldawgs#1, you said in the other post that you play for Milan. What # are you?
  16. We looked very flat. I expected a little bit because of the break but not that much. We had to have missed 8 free throws and a couple of those were front ends of one and ones so that is like missing two. Thought we did a decent job at times on defense except when Bright and Black were out towards the end. We cut it to 2 and then they got about 6 or 8 straight pts. with 3 guys who weren't even starters. But at times we showed flashes of a team that had it together. So I am not all that disappointed. Clint shot the ball a lot better and Jeremy did a good job of getting in the lane. Brandon did a good job going up against a bigger guy. Black and Bright didn't impress me much last night but I have seen them play better to many other times to call either over rated. The Davis kid did impress me for just being a freshman.
  17. I agree with you on the # of players it takes to play thing because it is the truth. We have 145 students and it is really hard to put together a football team and be competitive every year. The only problem I have with the classification system is that there are 5 classes in football which has less teams and only 3 for basketball which has more teams in it. But I guess the # of players deal is the reason for it.
  18. Cosby got beat by University in the Quarterfinals. Greenfield beat University in the semis and Temple beat Greenfield in the finals.
  19. When was the last time a team in either of those region's won? '03 Temple Reg. 3 '02 Temple Reg. 3 '01 Chatt. Chr. Reg. 3 '00 South Fulton Reg. 8 Looks like it has been a while. Some other good teams from West Tenn other than Greenfield are JCS, Huntingdon, West Carroll, and Halls. Should be a dog fight between these teams to get to Murfreesboro.
  20. I see what you are saying about no rotation but you have to think about how early it is in the year. In the end he will have a rotation. The first part of the year is to find out what you have and then put it in a rotation. You will see guys a lot early in the year and then at the end they might get a minute at the end of a quarter to keep a guy out of foul trouble. Give him time. He is having to replace guys like McCullar and Wilson with a bunch of younger guys who don't have the leadership qualities that those 2 had. If Trenton isn't one of the last teams standing in West Tenn. at the end of the year, I will be surprised.
  21. Don't really know much about Halls except for Strayhorn. But I think that they are playing good from what I hear and Trenton hasn't been on the top of things so I will go with Halls in a close one. But it will be awful tough since it is @Trenton. Always will be a hard place to go into and win.
  22. I agree about him being fun to watch. He is one of the most animated people when it comes to coaching. He will let you know exactly how he is feeling in any situation and I like him because he really does put all he has into it. In single A you don't have to have height to be a good team. Last two years Temple has had 1 player over 6'3 that played and have 2 gold balls to show for it. They beat Ezell Harding who had Terrell who was 6'7 and went to Vandy. And last year the tallest player on the floor in the state champioship was 6'4. The height of Mitchell and the big kid from USJC went home a day earlier. Granted height is very helpful but not as much in single A. When the Trenton teams of now win as many games and as many Dis. and Reg. championships as those teams did, I might give it a thought that they have as much talent.
  23. This kid has done his homework. But you are right about not letting Westview run. They showed that they could put some pts. up when they played Obion so slowing it down will be to Greenfield's advantage. Should be a good test for Greenfield. Westview would be as good of a single A team as you can get if tney were so it will be a good measuring stick for us.
  24. Might wanna think about that one agian. Those teams had players coming off the bench that had more talent than this year's team's starters have. But about Cisco, I think that he does get a little carried away at times and can go a little on the extreme side when yelling but I think that he just passionate about what he does. He wants to win and has made the Trenton program almost what it used to be. The first 3 years he had the team they didn't finish better than 3rd and that was the year before last. They never made it past the first round of the region. But last year they could have beat any team up at Murfreesboro.
  25. District 16 Trenton or Halls, Trenton is real dangerous if you can't guard there posts they are really dangerous. Halls is going to get 25 or more out of Staryhorn but I don't think that is all that they have. It should be a good championship game between those two. District 15 Only team that doesn't have a shot is Gleason. SF has Hicks, Alexander and Wilson which are as good as any 3 in the region. Dresden lost Ritz buit still are pretty solid. And Greenfield has 2 of the best in Blackburn and Shane. Add on Jeremy Smith, Thomas Galey, and Lil Dan and they are probably the favorite. So in Region 8 it is safe to say that the usual Greenfield, Trenton, Halls or SF will win it. I dont know the other districts #'s but in the Carroll county one it is going to be hands down between Huntingdon and WC. I don't think any other team is going to be close in matching these 2. In the other one, it will be between JCS and Middleton. Adamsville is close but I don't think they are as good as these two. So in Region 7 i think it will be JCS, Huntingdon or WC. But you never know in these 2 regions. There are always some upsets so you never know.
