  1. Yeah obviously, just like SF was after it won state. You have a good year and bring a lot of people back and you are going to be in the top.
  2. How many did the the Taylor kid have? Isn't he the one who is suppose to take all the pressure off of Webb?
  3. LOL where are you getting that Humbodlt is on their region or even in single A?
  4. Don't know much about Waverly. We (Greenfield) scrimmaged them last year but I don't remember much and plus that was last year. But people talk like Camden could make a little noise this year so who knows.
  5. Like sls said, the only thing the hurts Trenton is their guard play. Anytime you lose a guy like McCullar who had started all 4 years you are going to take a step backwards. And then they also lost Chase Wilson who was scrappy. As for the offense that Trenton runs, losing McCullar hurt that too because they rely on penetration and the kicking to the post or out for a 3. That is basically what their offense is, drive and kick. It can be very easy to stop but can also be hard to stop because if you play pressure defense and deny passes to the wings there is no help on the drive. You are better of just sagging towards the lane and letting them pass to wing because that is not what they want to do.
  6. I'll take Clint shooting any night because you have to guard him whether he has hit 10 in a row or missed 10 in a row because he is the kind of shooter that if he does get going there is no stopping him. (i.e. Mitchell in Region Final 31 pts.) And like I said in another post, a person who shoots the ball is more dangerous than a person that doesn't. If Clint looks to take only wide open shots with no one any were near him, that lets his man help on Shane and then who is the go to guy now?
  7. First off Clint has no attitude problem. What he has is what we like to call the desire to win. When have it and you work your tail off and things go wrong it can get frustrating. Yes he does have to keep his emotions in check but after the DC game and the way things were going I can see why he let it all out. This is the first time that he has ever done anything like that. Why is it that people want to come on here and start pointing fingers when things start to go wrong? If the call at DC would have gone our way and if the shot last night wouldn't have gone in people would be all happy and on the Greenfield band wagon just like last year. Nobody is at fault for either of these two loses so quit saying that it is Clint's fault for "shooting them out of the game" nobody on the team, not Coach T, not even the go to guy Brandon, has a problem with Clint shooting the ball. Last year I never had a problem with Clint shooting the ball because I knew that he had worked hard and that he wasn't shooting the ball in a me first attitude. For Shane to be our go to guy then Clint has to shoot the ball. If he doesn't then his man helps on Brandon and then our go to guy has been eliminated. Even if he goes 3-20, a guy that will shoot is more dangerous than a guy that won't.
  8. For Greenfield to be successful Clint has to shoot when he can get a open look and get his feet set and squared up. I was at the game and every shot he took was open, set, and squared. The shots just didn't fall. Nobody and I mean NOBODY on Greenfield's team has a problem with him shooting any shot. John Taylor shot better last night because Greenfield never got a hand in his face. They gave him way to many open shots. Teams know that you have to stay close to Clint and he doesn't get many shots without a hand in his face. Greenfield has nothing to worry about. They lost two very tough games to two very good teams. It is still early in the year and these games will mean nothing come Febuary and March.
  9. Seriously man who doesn't look really good against BIG SANDY?
  10. Greenfield hasn't had a losing season since 94 I think. We got to regional semis in 95 and 96 but that was when Trenton, Bradford, and West Carroll were loaded so getting past them was like a 16 seed beating a 1 seed in the NCAA's. In 97, 98, 99, and 00 we were a win away from going to state. 97 and 98 were sub-state and 99 and 00 were the sectional semis or as I like to call it the $ectional $emi$. A win in all those games would have sent us to the Boro. I those 4 years we won 88 games (22 avg. wins a year) and lost 38 (8.75 avg loses a year). Then in 2001 with Adrian Higgs we were upset in the first round of the region by Halls. Then we were in the wrong region in 2002. With Trey Pearson.. I mean South Fulton on one side of the bracket and an eventual final four team in Halls on the other side, where do you go? Then of course last years State Runner up. Since 97 we have been in every District Championship game winning in 98,99 and 03. We have won the region twice 98 and 03 and finished runner up twice 97 and 99. We finished 3rd in the region in 00. Another part of the sectional fluke. The best part is really the respect level that we get. The trophies are nice and so are all the wins but having players on the opposing team tell you after the game that they have never played against any team that plays as hard is the most rewarding. Teams know that when you play G-field, it is going to be a battle. Sorry rambled a little bit but just wanted to spread a little knowledge.
  11. West Carroll won 61-60 on a last second shot. Second straight night that Greenfield has been beat on a last second shot. It was a great game by both teams. Greenfield had a pretty good lead and then after West Carroll tied it up with about 3 min to go it was back and forth. Don't know what everybody scored but I can tell you who the main scorers were. Webb didn't do much scoring wise at the beginning but really impressed me as the game went on. He had probably about 15-20. Not to sure. Also had about 6 blocks. The Taylor kid was the one that hit the last shot and he had been hot the whole game. He had 5 3's so around 20-25. #14 and #24 both played really well too. Shane had something around 20. Blackburn had about 15 or so. Like I said great game by both teams. Tricky, I know you are going to say something because you are going to any time we lose but you might want to stop worrying about us not winning and get ready for West Carroll to challenge yall for that region.
  12. I wasn' t there but talked to a couple of people and they said that it was a great game. Hated that I couldn't be there. You are right, in the long run this game is just to make Greenfield stronger by playing against a better team.
  13. Tricky get back on the football field before Milan eats yalls lunch (again) Greenfield is not overated. They took a very good AA team down to the wire in their own gym.
  14. They are probably going to swich between Jr Jeremy Smith, and Fr Daniel Blackburn. Both have improved there ball handling over the summer and watch out for Little Dan in a couple years. This kid is the real deal.
  15. Tricky likes to think that he knows a lot about us when really he is probably some Jr high kid who has a brother on the team. We didn't have a good program in the early 90's. But since John took over in 94 we have had 1 losing season and that was his first. In 95 and 96 we were in the region semis but had to play Trenton one year and West Carroll the next. We went to sub state in 97 and 98, and went to the sectional semis (same as a sub state game) in 99 an 00. In that stretch we won 88 games (avg. 22 per year) and lost 35 (avg of a little under 9). Also in those four years we lost only 4 home games including 0 loses at home in 99. Then two years of mediocre by our standards in 01 and 02 and then the State Runner-up last year. Doesn't sound to successful to me. Tricky it is like I said you are the only person in West Tenn that is saying that we have no shot at going back to Murfreesboro.
  16. Playing post might hurt him with the college thing but 6'3 is tall for a single A player. And his strength and leaping ability make him play a little taller. The reason Doaks and Webb are better prospects is because they are playing the postion that they will be playing later on. But I am taking away anything from either of the two because I played against and guarded both and knew it wasn't going to be a easy night. And no I never did think that wasn't his natural position because he never did get the ball on the perimiter and score last year.
  17. Cosby should be pretty good. They should have beat University last year and don't they bring back that MaGaha kid?
  18. When did any of us say that Greenfield was going to be sorry? I mean come on man. By saying that we are on a down slide and that we haven't had a team you are basically saying that we are going to be sorry. You make completly no sense. And for the last time we are not living in last year. Like I said earlier GET A CLUE!!! You win then talk crap. Not the other way around. And what is this about making pimples on your butt?? But of course by some of the stupid comments you have been making I don't think I wanna know what it means. And all I was saying is that any descent single A team's second team could beat Bradford and Scotts Hill You are the one who got his nerves touched first and then had to make up stuff like the weak schedule crap and I keep shooting down all these ideas you have but you still amaze me with more stupid stuff. I am curious what is your connection with the team? Player, student, water boy, parent, long time fan?
  19. Brandon has a perimeter shot but doesn't get to use it often because he is very good at scoring from the post so he stays down there a lot. Webb didn't impress me last year when I played against him but that wasn't his fault. He always played up around the free throw line and never on the block. But it will be a good match up. I think the game is in Greenfield but correct me if I am wrong someone.
  20. Yeah I am from Greenfield. I was a senior last year #24. But is University going to be anything without Bradley?
  21. Scrimmages for Greenfield- JCM we won, Milan we won, Ripley haven't heard. We aren't going to the "weak one" in Martin. We are going to Christian Brothers in Memphis. No word on who we play though. The reason we don't brag about scrimmages is because they count for nothing. Look, you say you know a lot about basketball but you have yet to show it. You make statements when you have no clue about them (example... our schedule which you did again by saying that we are going to Martin when we aren't). You are the only person on this whole board that thinks the Greenfield is going to be sorry. That includes to people not from Greenfield. Look at peoples rankings and you will find us in there towards the top. GET A CLUE!!! Nobody is saying that yall won't be good. Just quit bragging about what you haven't done.
  22. Congratulations on the football success but if you wanna talk crap about that take it to the football board because now you are trying to use your football success against me when I haven't said a thing about our football program. Looks like you couldn't find anything else so you had to revert to the #1 sport of Huntingdon (Just like it always will be) Football. Anyways a good team 5 every or so years? 1997-2000 we were 1 win away from the state tournament. For all you non math majors out there that is 4 YEARS IN A ROW. Come on man you keep making statements about our program when you have no clue about it. First our schedule which I proved you wrong about and now this. And who are these coaches you are talking to that say we are going down hill? Because there isn't a coach around that doesn't think that we have one of the best shots to go. I haven't had to ask any but I am smart enough about basketball that any team that brings back all but 2 players from a year like last year will have a good shot. Also when you have Shane and Blackburn it helps to. And like monsterman said you don't have any basketball success like we do to be talking as much crap as you are.
  23. Thank you monsterman. Finally someone on here has some sense. And back to the bench thing. Only 7 players played down the strech last year. And don't say I ma living in last year. Just stating the way we always are. By the way Greenfield enrollment 145. State Tournament apperances 4. Huntingdon enrollment 396 State Tournament apprerances 1 oh that was the girls.
  24. BIG SANDY, CARROLL ACADEMY!!!!! Are you kidding me. Us have a weak schedule? And you said that I was living in last year when I made a post entirely about this year. You make no sense at all. And about Unaka I was only trying to make a point to him I wasn't trying to make a competition. But it looks pretty tough. The only schools I know much about in University amd Cosby because they were at state.
