  1. Then why run and hide every time a good private moves into your classification. Lipscomb, DCA, CPA, and Goodpasture would love to play you and show you where you stand on the food chain since you were so apt to do it against RBS. And I'm sure they'll handle your butchering of the word "quite" very well also. Your referring to CPA before they became a powerhouse, or even a good team, anyways. The beating you all received was a bit more legit.
  2. Classless. I agree with some of the previous posters' sentiments that Trousdale and their program runs, hides, and cries foul at the terrible, mighty private schools who could have beaten them by 60 but finds no problem in doing this to a severely undermatched team. Three quarters of the teams in this state could do that to RBS but doesn't, there are many ways to hold a score down and don't tell me Satterfield didn't know it. Shameful. I wonder how Satterfield got a wink of sleep last night, because if he did, he ought be fired effective immediately, but I dought that'll happen given that program's track record.
  3. There are definately some interesting scores on these teams' resumes and I don't think comparative scoring can go in this game. for instance: Ezell 45-East 17 DCA 21-Ezell 7 but.... Goodpasture 38-DCA 10 East 49-GP 46 I honestly don't know, but I'll pick DCA since they are at home and have beaten East the last two years(although they didn't play well in either victory)
  4. I have this prodding feeling telling me to go with CPA on this one. CPA can stop the run very well, and GP is very limited in the passing game, although if you don't stop their run, it could get ugly. If CPA limits turnovers, I see them scoring enough to win and get in the playoffs. Remember 2003, the Lions are tough to beat when their on the ropes.
  5. I haven't seen Ezell this year, so I'm excited to see how improved they really are. Being a consensus two TD favorite to beat a team with the same record that beat them by 40 last year is quite the turnaround. And, though I haven't seen Ezell, I agree that they should pull it out just by looking at comparative wins and losses.
  6. Scores from Tonight: Ezell 55 CPA 52 4OT DCA 24 Fairview 17 East Robertson 49 Goodpasture 46 FRA 28 Harpeth 14 Anybody got predictions for the rest of the season for this league? Who wins it? Big game next week with DCA/Goodpasture showdown. Who wins that?
  7. I have not seen Fairview, but if they can't be two-dimensional, then they have no shot at beating DCA. FRA had the leading rusher in the midstate and he was held to miniscule yards by DCA because they couldn't pass and DCA could stack the box and utilize their good linebacking group to focus on run stuffing. I know Fairview played goodpasture and Ezell this year, but I don't know that they've played a QB as good as Trammel. He was the leading passer in the Midstate before the bye week pushed him down a few notches. Fairview is a good team and I don't mean to disrespect them by picking a DCA 3 TD victory but I think that will be what happens for the previously stated reasons.
  8. DCA has looked mighty impressive since their sloppy performance in the loss to CPA. I'm not sure how Fairview will respond to DCA's passing dominated offense. DCA by 20.
  9. Statistics-wise, it is Tramel(#1 Passer in MidState) and Oakley(#1 WR in MidState) of DCA. Kostadine and Tate of JPII are also a noticeably potent connection.

  11. DCA won easily 38-7 and played lots of reserves in the second half. They ran the ball at will led by #31 Ryan Fields and #43 Trent Walker. Their QB Tramel also threw for 3 TDs. Their line play was the best all year for them by far. They dominated the line of scrimmage and pushed FRA back all night. #70 is a beast of a lineman and is probably DCA's best one in only his Sophomore year. I supply some stats later.
  12. After tonight's performance, Josh Tramel is now the Midstate's leading passer, edging out Michael Mikrut of Franklin. Derek Oakley is also the leading receiver in the Midstate. And Jason McCreary is in the top seven receivers. DCA's passing game is putting up big numbers.

Aaron Basescu: 0-0 4-5 4 Big game from Tramel. DCA was on tonight on offense. TD passes of 48, 75, 65, 60, and 15 from Tramel and all of them were long bombs that were right on the numbers. Last week, he was plagued with overthrows and underthrows but he was extremely accurate tonight. Oakley had 4 catches for 132 yards and 3 TDs and Jason McCreary had 4 catches of his own for 147 yds and 2 TDs, including an amazing juggling catch over a taller corner on the 75 yard TD. Lots of players saw lots of time. Davidson looked impressive. They ran almost the exact same offense as Boyd Buchanan ran last year, only not quite as well. Overstreet is a good running quarterback and Yarbrough and Easely are good running backs that are hard to bring down. They have good recievers that don't get the ball enough in Hopper and Hancock. Aaron Hermann and Eric Davis are also good players in the trenches. They also easily outweighed DCA with their good sized linemen. Good luck to Paul Wade and his staff this season because they have a nice looking team this year.
