  1. Do you mean changing of the guard as in a principal at a school near you or a coach? I know of one principal already that is leaving just can't name the person. Could be at Christmas or at end of the year.
  2. I don't think the success, or lack of, part had a whole lot to do with firing Coach Taylor. More so then not, it was exactly what you just stated. Which was what Coach Taylor said in the paper...... (1) Lack of numbers (2) Lack of community support (1) and (2) being the most important (3) Lack of expected success But even with all these problems Marion was still able to overcome a 20-6 halftime deficit and beat Sequatchie County 29-28. I still say coaching at Grundy in week 12 was the end for Coach Taylor. Look for him on the mountain. Maybe Brewer will come back, would be a good move. He should sill be at Grundy. Team got no further with Kenny C. This is called helping a friend CHS4Life. Something you obviously don't have. Ken would do the same for Coach Taylor if it was the same situation. Macon County was irrelavent in the decision by the powers that be in Marion County. If you read my previous post you will understand. You don't even know me. I have friends in Grundy and Marion. You made a point about helping a friend. Ken won state championships at Marion and has other coaches on staff so why would he need the help 12 weeks into the season? You don't know Coach Colquette very well do you? When he was winning those state championships with all the excellent assistants he had at Marion you would see coaches from Scottsboro, McMinn County and others as there teams were put out of the playoffs coming around and helping him at MCHS. It was a regular occurance to see different coaches at playoff time around the practice field and even in the booth on game night. So unless you know Coach C and the situation why open yourself up to something you have no idea what you are talking about!!!!!!!!!!! As far as the new coach at Marion County I have heard they are going through the process and one will be named soon. The glory days will not come over night but you can see the storm clouds disappearing. Better get them while you can!!!!!!!

  5. Has anyone applied for the position? When do they want to get a new coach in place? Who should anyone interested contact? The principal or director of schools? Any information would be helpful. THANKS!!!!!!
  6. You mentioned "I have no idea what kind of person he is, but I have heard others question his past. " Ever heard of hearsay or that happened 20 or 25 years ago. People change!!!!!!! If we held everything against someone that they did that long ago I wonder what type of skeltons we could dig up on a lot of people, including the president, governor, little old church ladies, and even the infamous Del. Not trying to be a smart-you-know-what but I get tired of hearing, "she said this or I heard that" Were is the proof not just I HEARD. and another thing... If I heard this and I heard that is not bad enough. If you have questions about Tim now and his past why not meet him and ask him about these so-called "I heard this and I heard that" things you are so concerned with. I am sure he has nothing to hide about whatever you are concerned about. It really burns me when people get on here and just say "I heard" about someone. It automatically puts a question mark about someone. Merry Christmas Del I agree to disagree with you at times. Isn't the grand ole USA GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! Bill ( I am finished with this thread ) #49

  8. You are getting a good coach Del if he comes. Coach Taylor is certified in special ed and drivers ed. Maybe the people in Grundy will appreciate how hard he works for the kids. Unlike the folks in Jasper. Well the driver's ed teacher is Ricky Richards. He's not going anywhere. And I don't know if special ed has a vacancy but I do know there is at least one teaching there on a waiver. If he has to go it won't be fair but most times fair doesn't enter into decisions over recent years. Del (who's not going to post any more on the football board for a while since the subject matter tends to rile me up.) Del, You seem to have a problem with Coach Taylor. Why is that? what's wrong Del cat got your tongue? What is the problem with Taylor? What about David, what is the problem with Taylor?
  9. Bill Satterfield and Ronnie Summey, who is now teaching at Maryville High School

  12. Wish we could still give good marks!! I guess I will have to settle for a "DITTO" EXCELLENT POST!!!!!!!! The bar has been raised not just at Marion County High School but all schools and all sports in Marion County. The Director of schools has put the pressure on everyone. Watch out for the precedent that has been set. If it happens at MCHS, Whitwell and South Pittsburg better keep improving and not slack up or you may lose your coaches. I for one am glad all the problems in the classrooms have been solved so that the higher ups can concentrate on the athletic teams now .

  14. Only if you believe in reincarnation
  15. He was told Monday. It's sad that a man that loves the school as much as Tim and wants the kids to do what is right is fired because of a group of people that NEVER gave him a chance. record during his 4 years = 25 -18 three years in the playoffs = beat by David Lipscomb two years and Houston County. To all the want-a-be head coaches out there beware!!!!!!!! Better be a reincarnation of Ken Colquette. Because that is the only thing that will please the people in Jasper.
  16. has Coach Hemontoler seen this yet? Just wondering
  17. Good luck Mr. Tidwell. I watched you in the jamboree and you are one heck of a player. You deserve all the honors you will reap this year. I believe you folks at WHS are going to win the big showdown with Jasper. The main reason being Coach Green will hook the wagon to your big b-hind (no pun intended) and let the horses run. Jasper has absolutely no answer for you big man!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again good luck the rest of the season and in your future years at the college of your choice!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Who put the most "hay in the barn" this week guys?
  19. I agree. How did practice go today? I thought you had a JV game with South Pittsburg today. I came by to watch but the no one was there.
  20. Jasper didn't look real impressive in the jamboree but are sitting 2-2 going into the big game with the Tigers. Coach Green has said all summer and fall that this is the year to get the monkey off his back with the team from Jasper. The Tigers haven't played as expected but I think it is a smoke-screen. The boys from Jasper have played over their heads the last two weeks and they are due a let down. They will be thinking all about the big game with Grundy next week and will overlook the Tigers. The Tigers want the Jasper boys to think that it is just another ballgame up the road. Not this year warriors!! Whitwell - 28 Jasper - 14
  21. glad to see no could've would've or should've tonight Indian
