According to WTVF Channel 5 Coach Greene has been suspended from coaching for the rest of the season. It didn't say the suspension was permanent, but said he would be allowed to keep his teaching position.

You people are in a dream world with all this talk about girls dunking. As many great athletes as UT has had over the years how many ever dunked in a game? One, Michelle Snow. So forget about dunking and concentrate on skills that will really make a girl a good basketball player.

Lebanon played well tonight and had a chance to win so give them credit for hanging in there. However, if anyone thinks Mt. Juliet is the second best team in the state without Clark they need to be checked for drug use. Coach Friar(please pardon me if I misspelled his name) does a great job of getting the most out of the players he has, but coaching can only go so far when one loses a player of Clark's ability. If they make it past the regionals it will be a great accomplishment.

Unionvegas is right about Mike Edmondson at Community High School in Unionville. I saw them beat Eagleville by 10 on Tuesday and I was very impressed with how well disciplined this team of very limited talent was. They are highly improbable to get as far as the Sub-State, but their coach is certainly getting more than would have been expected from these hard working boys from Unionville. Keep up the good work Vikings and Coach Edmondson!

District 7-AAA is down from where it has been in recent years. Oakland is nowhere close to where they were a couple of years ago. Riverdale lost a tremendous talent in Horton and they are substantially down from where they have been. White County is the best team, but they are not as good this year as they were last year. Warren County is probably the best they have been in a few years, but they are an average team. Siegal is not very good because they are too young. Lebanon is also very young and struggling tremendously. Cookeville, like Riverdale, lost an outstanding player in Taylor and they not as good as they have been in recent years. Blackman has the best team they have had and they can look very good at times and then turn around and look absolutely horrible. 7-AAA is not weak, but there are no really strong teams in the district this year. 8-AAA also appears to be down as well. What has happened to Lawrence County? They seem to have dropped a great deal from where they have been over the last 5 years or so. Shelbyville and then a big drop off to the rest of the district. From what I have seen 9-AAA is the class of the Mid-State in girls basketball this year. Mt. Juliet is very strong and still pretty young. Wilson Central is also very good with a great player in Gassie. Smyrna is the best they have been since the school was split up over 15 years ago to create LaVergne High School. They should be able to make the Regional for the first time in at least 18 years. LaVergne also appears to be improving along with Hendersonville. Beech is down some, but they still aren't bad. White House is apparently pretty weak. Let's hear what everyone else thinks.

Unionville is now 3-0 in district play winning all 3 games by a combined total of 7 or 8 points. They seem to be able to find a way to win the close games so far. Their coach must be doing a great job in maximizing the talent available, because from what I have heard it is fairly limited this year.
