  16. Perry County beat Greenfield 51 to 47. Perry County never trailed and showed lots of fight when Greenfield battled back in the fourrth. Two very solid teams that should go far this year.
  17. Taylor is the head coach of the 13u and McGowan is the head coach for the 14u. Harris coaches the 12u team this year. I believe he did have a group of 12u last year that was comprised mainly of incoming CPA players who needed floor time and experience for the upcomnig middle school season, but they didnt compete in aau substates.
  18. kwright, This is way off of subject, but I know that you know your Lawrence County basketball so I was wondering if you might could help me. I was wondering if you knew what days and times E.O. Coffman and Summertown were playing? It should be great games as always, and since we know many of the girls on both teams, we would like to come down and watch it if our schedule allows it. Thanks, in advance.
  19. We'll take players from anywhere. If you are willing to drive to the practices that are held in Lawrenceburg, TN, then we would be more then happy to have you. We are not limiting our team to just kids from this area. E-mail me at tnexpress23@hotmail.com and I will get you some more information.
  20. The Tennessee Express 11U AAU team based out of Lawrenceburg, TN, is looking for some additional quality players to add to our roster. We are looking for players in all positions, but we ask that the player have alot of experience with the game and that she be very dedicated to becoming a better player. Girls must be 11 years old or have just turned 12 anytime on or after Jan. 1, 2004. Girls in all counties surrounding Lawrence County (Maury, Wayne, Lewis, and Giles) and beyond (all of Tennessee and Alabama) are welcome. Please contact us at tnexpress23@hotmail.com by Monday, April 5, 2004, and we will provide you with further information.
  21. How about we just wait until after they play, and then everyone can make their judgements over whether or not this particular young lady should have stayed down. She's an incredible player who only wants to further her knowledge of the game. Her parents probably felt that she would learn more by playing up against bigger and more mature 12 year olds. Also, many of the girls on this 12u team are girls that she will play with in middle school next year, and playing with them this summer will most definitely benefit them when the middle school season rolls back around. I know that they want her to get back to nationals, but I'm not so sure that that is the main reason behind her playing up, as she probably would have had a better chance with the 11u team, since everyone is talking about how hard the 12u south middle substate is this year, while the 11u seems to be pretty much wide open. I respect their decision, as I think everyone should, and I wish both her and that team all the best (but they already know that).
  22. Ptguard12, Wow, that is an unbelievalbe assessment of the teams in this tourney. Ive seen alot of thos teams before and your ideas on the teams are dead on. I usually only read posts on coacht but you do a really good job predicting outcomes and i always enjoy reading your posts and just had to comment. btw, i have a sister who plays for the 11u express and dont count them out just yet. yes our "star," as you put it, left but the remaining 3 players from last years team (pg, pf, and c) have gotten alot better. we also have 2 new girls who are going to contribute alot and 3 on the bench that are very capable of playing some very solid minutes. we may not do to well in this touney, as they have only practiced 3 times together, but by the time substate comes around, they could be a potential threat. Again, keep up the good work, your posts are very informative.
  23. Shouldn't the AAU board be open to all members for posting (plus or not) year round since AAU does not necessarily have a season. They have many sports that play at different times of the year and tryouts occur year round. I know that you want to incourage people to apply for plus membership, but many kids use the AAU boards to find tryouts and opportunities for their sporting endeavors. Without an opportunity for them to post, or for a coach or team to post a tryout, they may miss out on some important opportunities for themselves. Anyway, its just an idea. Thanks
