I have been doing some research and I keep getting confused. When did Manchester High School become Coffee County High School? For years, I knew it as Manchester High School until around the early 90s and then it changed to Coffee County. The girls won their state title with Coach DOnaldson and it was called Coffee County. Can anyone provide difference in these two girls basketball programs?

Shelbyville shot only 5 free throws in game while Columbia shot 26. Shelbyville also shot 27% from the field and had over 20 turnovers. Owens had a great game for Columbia

Any thoughts?

Shelbyville is 4-0 while Columbia is 4-1 in district. A win for Shelbyville puts the Eaglettes two games ahead of Columbia in first place and a Columbia win has Columbia moving to first with the Eaglettes dropping to second going into Firday's game. A Shelbyville loss and a Lawrence COunty win over Tullahoma puts them in a tie for second as Columbia would move to first. A win for the Eaglettes puts them solely in 1st place.

In case you have not heard. Gene Pierce has written a book on the Shelbyville Eaglette basketball program. He is going to be in town for the Eaglette Tip-Off Classic this weekend signing and selling copies of his book. I have been one of the few that have read the entire book, and let me say that the book is great. Not only does it go into the history of the Eaglette history, there is also a lot of background on girls basketball. He covers Bobby Locke, Rick Insell, and current coach Lynn Burkey. There are scores and records that even I never know. The book is kind of a combined stories and stats and pictures. Very well done. Recommended reading if you are a girls basketball fan.

If I am wanting to see a great game, I would say Cascade/Moore County. They just played the other night and Cascade almost came up with the win. Should be a good rematch. And the Shelbyville games should be good as well, although I don't know much about the TN High team. The Shelbyville-Greeenville game will be interesting as well.
