  1. Hey buddy read that first line....Definately not putting anyone down. Just noted the 1 v 1 scenario. Both going full speed, one got decleated. Avery had nearly as many tackles as Jaron did touches.
  2. Saw on his facebook page where Doc said he was done for the year. Last week he's at the UT game on a recruiting trip, this week he's done for the season thanks to dirty play. 2 all state potential D tackles done for the season.
  3. What part of "on pace to break state TD record while only playing in the 1st halves of games" do you not understand? Toney is a great player no doubt. What happened when he and Williamson met in the hole heads up last year??? Williamson should have the better college career. http://rivals.yahoo.com/oregon/football ... mson-92457
  4. I wouldn't use Milan's offensive statistics against Alcoa as a positive if I were you. Milan didn't manage to get its second first down of the game until midway through the 4th quarter, when the score was already 28-7. And Milan's 7 points at that juncture had come on a blocked quick kick that was returned for a touchdown. Milan did have a good drive at that point that ended in its second touchdown. ..... Both CAK and Marion County moved the ball much more effectively against Alcoa in the playoffs than Milan did. Milan had a more physically imposing team than either CAK or Marion County. I don't know who would have won a Milan-CAK or Milan-Marion County matchup, but both would have been entertaining games. I'll rest my case. Good luck to Milan the rest of the season. Milan's Oline was subpar. Alcoa couldn't move the ball either despite a huge disparity in TOP and plays. 7 points off a halfback pass on 4th down. 7 off a reverse punt return. Well executed. Milan isn't as good this year as last IMO but still very good. Maybe they can make it back and change some things up.
  5. Milan 3A DBurg 4A. Not possible, and no need for such arrogance.
  6. I havent posted but once since December but here's my book on this years team....I never understood why some predicted this team to be better than last years. Offense...you lost your 2 best Oinemen. The only two who were of avg oline size, one was all state. You lost your 230 lb. cannon armed QB who started 4 years. Two 3 years starters and 2 of the fastest, quickest players to ever play at Milan. How many big special teams and offensive plays did JW and Tristian make over the last 3 yrs? Also 2 of the best DBs we've seen at Milan. 3 dlinemen graduate. 1 all state, 1 all region. Lot of talent and experience in last years senior class. I think a lot of people looked at the size of the senior classes. 9 last year 26 this year as well as having Avery and Moo back. A couple of years ago Huntingdon was hyped behind their 5 star recruit then failed to make the playoffs. There is a lot of truth the the cliche that you're only as strong as your weakest link. We have the tendency to look at the the strength of strengths and dismiss how weak, weaknesses are. Avery and Moo are two of the best players ever at Milan, Avery is probably the best HS player I've ever seen. But the Oline is undersized and continues to struggle. Even last year the Oline was probably the worst IMO since I started attending games in 98, but that was alleviated by big plays from great players. Much of the big play threat is gone with the graduation of Coleman, Pearson, and JW. This team can still be a "great" team. Injuries have obviously been a problem. Chris Bledsoe is a 3 year starter and the fastest player on the team who has yet to get on the field. Tim Adkisson is the homerun threat. He has been hampered this season. 4 weeks until you play Dyersburg for the Region crown. 2 weak opponents in GC and Peabody, Ripley I know nothing about and a bye week. Morris has also used some very vanilla game planning. Look for Milan to get healthy and start building for a run over the next month. Morris is one of the best in the business. He knows how to get Milan there.
  7. Been a long time. Seems like its awful dead around here whats the deal? Haven't got to see the Dawgs yet and won't get to see much this year but it sounds like we ought to have a pretty solid team. As far as season being over due to injuries? That seems a little dramatic, I don't think any are season ending. And as 12yr said this should be a pretty deep team. But I think several DBs were out last week. I don't guess I know much about jcs this year but I would guess we'll need the defensive backfield at full strength....Gonna be good to see football again.
  8. Morris only calls about 10% of the plays. Let me ask, what would you have called differently??? This is after the fact of course and hindsight, as we know, is 20/20. My head is no where near anyone's backside but is obvious that you are quite a "fan" of a certain someone. You won't find me at many if any basketball games. I've seen the first half of one game since I played.
  9. Yep stallone, 44 is as qualified arm chair after the fact quarterback as there is.
  10. Just like 44 to get on here calling folks "little dudes," bashing our coach, and expressing his man crush.
  11. I think it's difficult to judge a team when you haven't seen them play. Objectivity is good to a point.
  12. Alcoa senior quarteback Chase James engineered the Tornado offense on three scoring drives, but said Milan was the best defense he has ever played against. "We knew they were really big, but I didn't expect them to be that fast," James said while shaking his head. "They looked good on film, but to actually play against them was totally different. "(Williamson) hit me a lot, and he is a really good player." Obviously we're a little upset [to have given up a rushing touchdown]," Alcoa quarterback/cornerback Chase James said. "They're a great team. Personally, I think that's the best team I've played so far this year. They're big, they're fast, they might be faster than us." -Jackson Sun
  13. Wrong as always reitz. Alcoa did not dominate both sides of the line. Both defenses dominated the line of scrimmage. Alcoa- 2.9 yards per play Milan-3.5.(before the overzealous alcoa fans jump on this i realize the score is the only stat that matters, just making a point here) Our defense played extremely well. TOP was about 3:1 alcoa and the entire game took place on our side of the field. Yet we only gave up 172 yards and 21 points to the greatest team God ever allowed to put on pads. We just made too many mistakes to win against a team that didn't make any. The penalties, 3 TOs, trick punt return, and the HB pass. Just can't do it. We couldn't get anything done up front on offense. Gilbert was getting hit 3 yards in the backfield. Congrats to Alcoa. Ya'll played like a championship team with flawless execution. One of the best D's I've ever seen. Amazing to have the ability to stuff the middle when you're playing 2 deep safetys. The issue of the playcalling is an unfounded argument. Our bread and butter is up the middle but we can't block anyone. Can't throw over their 2 deep safetys. And the good runs by Avery came late when Alcoa was a little worn and looked to win. Hard to get into a rythym when you can't even get a first down. 7 starters returning on both sides. Hope to see you again next year.
  14. Comparing scores by quarter is terribly irrelevant. How many times has Milan's 1st team O been in the game during the 4th quarter? I wouldn't expect that our frosh would be able to score against other team's 1st strings like our 1st string can. Not an accurate representation of our offensive capabilities. A comparison should go position by position.
  15. I realize this kind of violates a board rule but.... There is so much photoshopping and bantering back and forth on the other thread I could not find much conversation about the actual game. And, this is one of only 3 games taking place in this forum this week so there is not much board traffic. I find most of the photos in the other thread pretty funny but I would like to read the analytical posts without scrolling through 9 pages of photos and argument to find them. As a Milan fan my biggest concern is the ability of our undersized line to block them up front. I was asked in the other thread what I thought about the TE situation with their Mr. Football. My opinion....I'm sure the O-line will be as it has all season. However if you start seeing Mr. Robinson in the backfield regularly I would expect Morris would move Postoak and Coleman accross and rotate them at TE. I think Avery will see most of the action at FB rather than Bledsoe. Avery is somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 lbs heavier than Chris. In our Offense, we like to kick the end with the FB so that will be an interesting matchup. It's hard to get a feel for a game when you've never seen a team. But, after talking to a few players and seeing a little film I think I may have an idea. Sounds like both teams have a lot of similarities, run a lot of the same schemes. Both teams play with great physicality. I could be completely wrong here but I believe it will be a low scoring game. Mistakes will be magnified in such a game. Both teams can ill afford penalties and turnovers. Special teams will be huge. Looking forward to friday.
  16. Been duck hunting all weekend and thought I would catch up on the thread....terrible waste of time. I haven't seen much football conversation here. To the the few newer(to the board, not meant in disrespect we were all new at one point) Milan posters....why are you paying this kid any attention? Adopt the old ignore the brat don't ag him on or encourage him tactic. No one knows how this game will go. How many people here have seen both teams? Fact is Alcoa has been here and won the last 4 of course they will be the favorite but I feel as if the underdawg role is prefferable. We know we belong and we know our kids deserve to be here. Our coaches are some of the best and the players have reacted extremely well the last 2 weeks when they were told they would lose. Milan doesn't run the power I but the (standard) I-formation as a base offense. We don't really run the spread as in West Virginia style as most think of when hearing "spread" either. No zone read. Handoff to 1 back, "Tebow" stlye run play with our QB(6'2" 250) or throw the ball. Biggest key for Mlian will be blocking Alcoa up front. We'll have to block the DE as he's half a foot and a hundred lbs bigger than our TE. Our D has played extremely well as of late. Look forward to spending my friday night in the Boro.
  17. Milan is playing good ball right now. As everyone knows we were told we didn't have a chance in 98 and 99 as well. Prepare and give them your best shot Dawgs.
  18. Some of the best D I've seen in a long time the last couple of weeks. Great job coaching and preparing during the week. 1 more.
  19. Coming in on 45 you will see the lights of the stadium right in the center of town.
  20. That pic is about 4 seconds before Camdens safety's face met Moo's stiff arm and his back met the grass. Where are you finding these pictures and how do you put them on here?
  21. Starting O-line isn't that big. 1 OT is all state the other might be as good. The Gs and C are all about 5'10"-6' 230. TE is smaller than most. D-line is a little bigger. Soph DE Christian Colemen(6'4" 240) will play D1. Other DE goes about 6'3" 210. 2 DTs are 6'3" 240 the other is 5'10" 220. Cody Rodgers at DT is all state caliber.
  22. ...Good video from this time a few years ago. Dawgs don't need to go out like this again.
  23. Ole vandy tryin to get bulletin board material started with his first post.
  24. Records don't really matter. Only 2A team GP lost to was CPA and they beat them last week. Cunningham will be hard to handle but if Milan plays with the intensity and focus they did against JCS I like our chances. WingT has been the bain of our existence the last 5 or 6 years.
