  1. I think absolutely that you have it right. I am proud of Kingsport in coming together no matter what the school and supporting these kids. You have to remember yes we are a family, most of us started out in the lynn garden pee wee league and then moved to separate optimist and middle school then high school leagues. Most of these kids and their families all have solid friendships and relationships despite the schools and fierce rivalries. Its what makes them all fierce competitors. We are family and ya dont pick on KTown thats the message they are sending and I think its high time Ktown came together like this. I have to say PRIDE is a great driving factor here. Actons MoM DO US PROUD RAIDERS!!!!!!
  2. LOL Thanks Coach B, you see that thread on sullivan north thats the longest one i think that we ever had!!! We got famous lol. Hang in there hugs jerra /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  3. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I just absolutely love it this is the longest thread I think we have had on Sullivan North, YaYYYYYYY!!!! Go Raiders!!!!!!!! Ya got cheers all the way from Texas!!!
  4. I dont know who that person is that said that Coach B. but wasnt me Just makin sure you know that, looks like someone from e town, hugs and miss ya Jerra
  5. I dont think I was replying to you but yeah i believe you were in on it at that time. Danny Thomas was QB and anyway I was just throwing in some humour and just joshing the guys, dont take it too seriously ya know life is short and its all in good natured sportsmanship. After high school real life occurs and football is just that, it doesnt figure in most of these boys life afterwards if they arent lucky enough to get a scholarship. Believe me, I know my boy did get one and he chose to go in the army and you know now he just still wants news of that ole home team and is proud to call himself a raider because it comforts him over there in that war zone. So dont take things so serious, enjoy each and every moment to its fullest cause you just never know. I pray each and every day that things are ok for my boy and all the others that are over there giving their lives, bravery and honor for the niceties we all enjoy each and every moment of our lives Including FOOTBALL GAMES!!!!!GO RAIDERS LOL
  6. LOL I just have to get this one in, do you remember when you said I was making excuses for North having injuries and things of that nature two years ago and by the time we played yall we were just beat up with injuries and then yall ran the score up???? HMMMMM I got to QUIT WHINING!!!!!! lol what you told me. OH Yeah I am gonna really enjoy hearing bout this one. Yall keep me up with it lol. Sounds as if time for the score to be evened up on this one guys lol. ROFL
  7. Hey there Skunk ole buddy, Thanks for that. I am proud of all the younguns from that area, seems like East Tennessee is just plain cookin this year. I say that is absolutely awesome and a credit to all those coaches who work so hard to teach these young men discipline, but no one can teach them HEART , and to give credit due that means we have alot of young men who just have it. All of you boys no matter which team you play for just remember that winning and losing teaches you alot about Life and how you deal with it. Proud of North, South and Yeah DB too lol. Good Job boys and Coaches!!! Oh yeah I am in the Central Texas Region so I have got to see Bartlett, Killeen High, Georgetown Eagles, Ellison, and Copperas Cove play!!!
  8. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" /> And Last but certainly not the least Waco My friend, and tormentor and fellow conspirator in good humour and starting interesting conversations. I love ya and miss you, you certainly made my years on here awful good fun and with morning coffee it was always an honor. Hugs Big Guy Jerra
  9. Now, Now boys this is my thread to my boys and it doesnt matter about whos been added or taken from the teams. I for one am glad to know my old friend skunk and his youngun are on our side now. No need to add politics to the game, in high school its in its purest form and I for one do not like politics and as we know my boy didnt have money or anything else on his side but pure stubborness, guts and heart. Thats what those boys at North are known for whether they win or they lose they have always come out with god those kids sure know how to hit. I watched all of them grow up and go on their way and the young guys that are left I knew would carry on the tradition cuz I know them. Pearcy, Hunter, Chris G, and gotta love those Hartsoe boys, by the way boys you still got the Raider Bell I left ya? Be sure to ring the thing right when the South QB is snapping lol. Used to really tick Phillips off lol. Just a lil humour there. Play with everything ya got boys and remember I may be in Texas but my heart is in Iraq and in Tennessee!!!!! Hey Coach B I love and miss yall out Unicoi way too!!! I will tell Jared you are thinking of him. I will see if I can get his address Im sure he would love to hear from everyone he is doing ok over there so far, please remember to keep him in your prayers to bring him home safe. Hugs Mom Acton /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  10. I just want to tell everyone how proud I am of these boys. They were the last boys to play with my son Jared Acton who is now in Iraq in the army. Thank you for dedicating the first touchdown for him last nite. I congratulate and miss you boys. Keeping kicking and taking names boys. I always knew you guys were tough!!! Im settling into my new life in Texas and have actually been takin in some Texas football but you guys will always have my heart and Jareds!!! Mom Acton
  11. Hi there gentlemen. I was not able to make it to the Jamboree last evening, can anyone tell me how it went for the North kids. Mr. Acton has gone on to be in the army and is in Basic at Ft. Benning at the moment and I promised him I would try and keep up with everyone and the high lights. Hope every one does well this year and hope that there arent too many injuries. Luck to all . Mom Acton

  14. Thank God and all of you for your prayers. I have been working past two days so i havent been able to get an update thanks for that, I am really happy to hear things are getting better everyday.
  15. I dont have a link, i have the newspaper in front of me, it is not knocking the kids, it is saying that the coaches were responsible for showing bad sportsmanship. It states that Sg five players lined up in a full court press against norths four players despite holding a 50 point lead with 45 seconds left on the clock. It says when adults lose sight of their priorities everyone loses. While north was learning the value of battling through adversity tht sg coaches deprived their players the values of compassion and not kicking someone while they were down. Pretty much the gist of it.
  16. Front page of Kingsport Times News Sports Page. Article on the sportsmanship of this game. Nuff said.
  17. Thanks to all who attended the prayer vigil tonight. Mr and Mrs Senor were awesome. Songs were sang, prayers were said. Shannon (Merissa's dad) said a prayer and thanked everyone that came. He also updated us on her condition. She has pneumonia. She will be having a cat scan tomorrow. The were worried about her not moving her right arm, but they discovered that her right collar bone is broke, and today she did move her right arm. The docs are still saying there is still a possiblity of some brain damage that will probably affect her right side. How much or how bad is anyone's guess. All we can all do is say prayers for her. Lots of people have asked if there is anything that Merissa's family needs. I asked Shannon that. He said that people have been so generous that they could never eat the food or other things that the community has brought to the ICU. While we were there, a student at North (cant rememeber his name) brought in 4 large pizzas for everyone. As of right now, only family is allowed to visit. For several reasons: 1-They have to keep the room quiet for Merissa 2-The doctors are afraid that if Merissa's friends see her in the condition they are in, they will freak out. 3-Merissa would be upset if her friends saw her in this condition. So Shannon said as soon as the docs will allow friends to visit, he will let everyone know. The best thing anyone can do is pray.

  20. Merissa has pneumonia. The docs are worried more about her pneumonia than anything. She's going for a CAT scan tomorrow. She's trying to move her arms and legs. Once she gets better, she'll be moving into her own room and out of ICU!!! Other than that, she's still the same. See ya'll at 7:00 at HVMC!!!!!!
