  1. East will stay in AAA. It was an easy choice for Penny and the school.
  2. It was a hard hitting game. Our defense has really improved after coach Cole adjusted some attitudes after the Douglass loss. Some seniors felt like they could not be replaced. Well they know now. Our game plan was to play solid defense and control field position. Make Trezevant score off long drives. This was a big win for the program. After the probation and missing playoffs the last 2 years, our fan base needed this.
  3. In a defensive battle Mitchell pulled it out. It was a hard hitting game. Our defense has really improved after coach Cole adjusted some attitudes after the Douglass loss. 4. Whitehaven may be a year away but they are young and talented. Philips coaching could make them a contender by March. East is still the favorite and it is not even close. Penny has 7 or 8 big time payers.
  5. This is crazy. The have an enrollment that places them in 2A. I only thought the basketball board where this happened. They complained about Mitchell being in 1A over there.

  8. Let me commence by saying that I have been one the posters that praised Trezevant for their accomplishments. I will also state that it is hard for me to believe that coach White is involved in this. This man has been a positive influence on that community. With al of that said, if it is proven these allegations are true, everyone involved should go. I served as an athletic director for years and the greatest lesson you can teach the student athletes is to compete with integrity. My greatest joy at Mitchell was the number of athletes that went to college free. That should be the goal of any AD. This is another black eye on SCS system. Once again I will be totally shocked if Coach White is involved in this. My prayers to the students.
  9. Trezevant High forfeits football games, launches full-school audit after reporting grade discrepancies December 3, 2015 - Trezevant High School head football coach Teli White shows his athletes a page from the team's playbook during football practice Thursday afternoon. Trezevant is heading to the state title game. (Yalonda M. James/The Commercial Appeal) Posted: 4:15 p.m. 1 Comment{C} SHARE {C} By Jennifer Pignolet of The Commercial Appeal Posted: 4:15 p.m. {C}1 Discrepancies on Trezevant High School football players’ transcripts are leading to game forfeitures and an internal investigation by Shelby County Schools, the district announced Thursday. SCS Chief of Communications Natalia Powers said players’ report card grades were not matching grades on transcripts. It’s unknown if the discrepancies are limited to the football team, she said, so a full-school audit is underway. Superintendent Dorsey Hopson issued a statement saying Trezevant Principal Ronnie Mackin voluntarily reported to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association on Thursday after an “internal academic review.†Hopson said the principal and his staff discovered the discrepancies while conducting an academic audit to ensure all students have proper course selection for graduation. The school will forfeit all football games played to date this season — their record is currently 3-2 — as well as the game tonight versus Memphis Academy of Health Sciences and all future games until the internal investigation is completed. The team is the defending TSSAA Class 2A state champion and was among the favorites to win this year. “We understand the impact this has on our students, but it’s necessary as we fully understand the seriousness of the situation,†Hopson said. He added the district has “no reason to believe this issue extends beyond Trezevant,†but that the district will reach out to all schools as a reminder of auditing procedures in place for verifying accurate records. “As an academic institution, we trust our employees to always maintain the highest levels of honesty and integrity with regard to our academic records,†Hopson said. “Students’ futures are in our hands, and we will not tolerate any reckless handling of student records. Anyone found to be directly responsible for or to have assisted in any way in creating the grade discrepancies will face the strictest possible consequences.â€

  14. I am serious. They are loaded and ready.
  15. I have looked at the enrollment numbers and it looks like Trezevant and Mitchell will remain where they are for the next 4 years. There is a chance that both administrations may choose to play up.
  16. T, White is building a dynasty in North Memphis. His young players coming up will keep them at the top. They will be to 2A football as Mitchell is to 1A basketball.

  19. No way. They will be better than last year.
  20. Mitchell will be there also.
  21. Well it backfired and we are still going strong. My sister is the president at TSU and I am working with Fred Jones of the SHC to get involved and make the Whitehaven Classic better.
  22. You are correct. I was in the meeting with Dr .Hunter, Whitehavens AD, Mr. Ware, and Myself when the Bridges Classic wanted both schools to commit to a huge number of ticket sales. We laughed after the meeting started our own. Look where we are now.
