David Barger and Larry Ziegler at Marion County and excellent coaches and very hard workers. Also, Jon Calhoun at South Pittsburg is a excellent coach and hard worker. All three are young, enthusiastic and faithful to there programs.

All three of these backs are deserving winners. The Cothran kid has great numbers and a gpa. Very deserving! Springs has great numbers and a 3.3 gpa as well! Very deserving! The kid from westview has been a finalist before...so he is a great back as well. Very deserving! Any of these three are deserving winners. I just hope Derrick Springs wins. I would like to wish all three of these backs and all the other finalist good luck if they try to further there careers at the college level. Good luck guys, you have all worked very hard for these honors. I would like to recognize the other players from these teams. These guys would not be here if it were not for them. Great work guys!!

A total of 2,508 all purpose yards and 30 tds, 2 2pt. conversions for 184 pts.Lead the Chattanooga area in rushing and scoring. 3 times 2A state player of the week. 2 times Chattanooga area player of the week.
