so..... what happened? I thought the girls were playing better. Why the change?

I heard they have a new coach. Does anybody have any info on how good he is doing or how good the players are?

that's pretty funny about Unaka dropping out when they found out who they were playing. They never committed to be in the tournament to begin with!!! I think it posted a month ago from someone else that Unaka told the staff at least in May that they were not coming due to possible weather conditions at this time of year. If they "dropped out" they would have to pay 1000.00 fee. I don't think that would make any sense, do you? Plus, playing in the tournament close to home, they are playing a AAA team instead of a AA team. they are not scared there either.

Unaka never signed "the contract" to play in the Livingston tournament. Supposedly, to play at Livingston, you had to sign and pay a small fee, but it was non-refundable if you could not make it. The staff at Unaka told the staff at Livingston back in the summer that they wouldn't be in it but Livingston listed them on the schedule anyway. I think Unaka will be playing at Volunteer against some teams from their local area.

I agree. that also goes for applauding for the other teams when awards are being presented. I have yet to see Cloudland acknowledge other teams during the presentations. Especially last week during the district tournament. No one on the Cloudland bench even clapped when their own teammates won anything, but yet Unaka clapped for everybody. I did not read the post by a Ranger person calling other girls names, but I do agree that is very uncalled for. Keep the trash talk on the court and be done with it after the game. "I find it humorous someone from Cloudland is posting on the merits of sportsmanship in blowouts. Go Lady Rangers!" Didn't Cloudland beat this same team sometime during the regular season? By about 50 points? Is there a difference? I'm sure the Cloudland girls played as good during that game as they do any other game, just like Unaka does. I'm glad that all the girls got playing time and recgonition for all the hard work they've put into this year. Congratulations to both Carter County teams- keep playing to your potential and we'll probably see another tournament championship matchup!

who would pick the players? who would coach? could be fun if it could be worked out. Eventually some of these girls will be playing together in college anyway, so why not put them together for a game and see what happens?

what happened to all the Unaka fans? The boys lose 2 games and the fans must have fallen off the face of the earth because no one has posted anything on Coacht. The Unaka boys have had a good season and the best is yet to come during tournament time. Play hard Rusty, Cody, Tyler, Josh and Josh, Rusty H and the rest of the team. Stay focused and you guys will do great!

Player of the game for Unaka..... toss up between Danielle Ensor (played awesome defense!) and Renee Ensor. Player of the game for Cloudland..... the short referee! not sure what game he was watching, but he made some pretty ridiculous calls. Both teams played great and the game could have went either way. Congratulations to the Lady Rangers! Keep playing hard, the best games are yet to be played so stay focused and work hard. I'm proud of everybody on the team, all year each one of you at different times has showed your strengths and talents. Keep it up.... listen to the coaches..... play hard!!!

sorry, I don't own a saddle.... I think you are as close as you can get on the top 5. Elizabethton and Unaka both deserve those top spots- both are leading in their conference, both teams are playing hard. Keep it up girls and good luck the rest of the season!!

"I couldn't agree more, The Lady Rangers had a solid performance and well deserved W. As for Rikki she is super talented and from what I had read has really stepped up since recovering from her injury" I think both teams have done great this year. thank God for Rikki! 35 pts in 1 game and the total score was 53. She is a rebounding fool! Way to go! Good luck to both teams the rest of the season. Personally I think the Cyclones should change their uniform colors. They would look great in a nice shade of yellow.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Coach Chambers coaching in many games and in many different situations and I'm always impressed with the talent of his coaching staff and the players. This game proved how sticking together and playing to the best of their abilities paid off. If you can play a team as tough as Harriman, then come tournament time you guys should have no problem advancing. Good luck against Cloudland and the rest of the season!!

I am a fan of the game. any game, any school. thus my sign-on name. I am not bitter about anything in life, that is why my posts are positive. Thanks for the correction on my "alot". See, it's easy to be nice, isn't it?

Dear cyclonehomer, I don't know who you are. I don't care who you are. I don't care who you are associated with. It really bothers me how negative you are on these posts. Whether it is basketball, football, baseball, etc.... I don't remember reading a positive comment from you ever. Are you that unhappy with your job? your life? your wife? Maybe it's time to make a change. It's easy really. Anytime you see a post with the words "UNAKA" in the heading, try avoiding it. It would save alot of time, and alot of negative feedback from other coacht readers. Plus, you may realize how positive you could be on posts that really are worth your input Is my spelling ok?

If the Landers finish 2nd, who is going to finish 1st?
