Ads I understand it tuition students can only come from Blount County if they do not to live in the City of Maryville. Is that correct? Can they come from another County? How many tuition students van be admitted? Found out today they can come from anywhere.

Well said PEP! I believe it was last year they were saying "wait until they play Fulton. No knock on Fulton, just the haters. Same when MURVUL was in 4A. They would never beat the best in 5A. Well, MURVUL past that test. Now we past the Fulton test at least this year. Out of state? For what? As you said,"to satisfy a few Grown men on a High School Message Board." How sad it is when watching high school football becomes such a burning obsession you forget that the game is for the players, not the parents, fans or guys on a message board. I just continue to shake my head in disbelief.

It's a money loser.

Not much money in it either. I heard the fee from ESPN was $1000.00 per team. After paying for extra security, and other various things, there isn't much there. The extra fans coming to that game with few extra seats may not have been a biggest pay day even with the extra $1000.00 thrown in.

I don't believe that's the purpose of playing high school football in most places.

Why do you think that because its Maryville they would have more money to spend?

Is that a step backwards? Rome seems away from the competition of Atlanta Metro.

They moved up to 6A from 5A to continue to play top level competition. Other teams could have petitioned to move up. But no else did, including Sevier County.

Budgets.

Fulton has one of the most talented teams I have seen in years. Next year will be another great game no matter who wins. They will be in Cookeville in December. Congrats to you all for a great game and best of luck!

This was the 5th meeting. Last was 1986 and 1985, Maryville winning both. Maryville was 3-1 up until yesterday.

6A Maryville qualifies for 5A. They are playing up in 6A.
