  1. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Yeah and the highlanders have been playing in golden sneakers this year. Either way the team has turned around from where they were a few weeks back when so many people was lighting tourches and sharpening their pitch forks. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  2. I know this is off subject, but does anyone know where Oak Hill is?
  3. Idk how AC is this year, but OZ will prob be a tuff game and well Jelico is Jelico. I'm so glad everyone is getting along now it's so much better. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. I guess the first reason for thinking " MIRACLE". Is this year really any diff from the past few years. I prob started really paying attention to Oneida sports in about 03. Since then I can't ever really remember Oneida having a great basketball team. Even those teams had tallent. Tell me this does OMS not play schools where players from the teams you mention'd use to go? So that would mean they were playing pretty much the same players. Even if they are on different teams. Also if the coaches was coaching them to wins then whats different now? Maybe there has been some bad coaching calls noone is perfect, but the "MIRACLE" is what some of you expect when you have a team that has performed the way this program has in the past, and think changing the coaches every 2 years is the fix. If you look back Wendal was there for about 2 years and King the same. I'm not putting anything agianst those coaches, but look at how long your giving people to turn a team into something different. It seems from what I can read some of you can only talk about what you hear from other people and a little of what you have seen. I think before some of you decide to come in here and put everyone elses IQ in jepardy. You should actually go back at look, and that don't mean just go and look at the final record. Look at a break down off every game over the past few years. Wial your at it think about how long fans like some of you allow a coach to last. It could be possibly due to parents like some of you who think your child isn't out there enough or think you could do better. Well since we are on a run lets go ahead and get rid of these coaches and we can all be in here next year having this same covo. Hopefully you will turn in your application, and next year we will talk about how much you stink, and how big of a failure you are. Please hurry and reply so I can count how many times you CAPS some of my words, and use lots of " ". I find funny that some of you have so much to say, but don't you don't have a set big enough to actually go talk to these coach's. It's not that hard they are people to. I think it starts with Hi for some of you that don't seem to have the since God gave my dog. With that said i'm glade people are posting for now I do get bored easy. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  5. Ok, guys I like a good laugh as much as the next person, but I don't think I can handle anymore amusement from SCBFAN. Heres a heads up SCBFAN most people set on theirs not talk out of it. If your not a coach and your not a parent then you must be a wanna be. It really is pointless for you to keep posting when you say something and get a reply but can't come back to the reply. Also I notice you keep saying Stevo that sounds like somthing a friend would say, but you don't seem very friendly or much like a likeable person. Your coming into a Oneida thread trying to bash their team "not smart the numbers arent in your favor". I think things will get better for this team. Nothing happens over night give it time, and some of you may be supprised at what can be salviged out this season. There is a big differance between middle school and high school ball. That doesn't mean that these coaches shouldn't be coaching at this level, but it does mean that you can't expect a miracle season in one year. I mean they aren't you know who. So give these coach's a chance and see what happens. So untill next time remember some people have one and some people are one ( I don't think I need to mention any names cough cough Sco Co Fan).
  6. Well injun your husband must be very enlitend about the sport but untill you or him deside to coach this team the only thing you can do is squal. As for Sco Co fan your Highlanders may want to get in check with their coaching as well. Look back at the stats for this year no play has came out and started and played good two games in a row. One game a kid will start and do well. Come out the next game and look scared. Either way it doesnt matter if your having a winning season or a losing one someone is going to find something to complain about. As I said in an earlier post at the end of the year if the people who's opion really matters feels they arent the best for the job they wont be back next year. Honestly tho if I was to take a job as this teams coach I would make it up front an clear do not have your parents come talk to me about your time. Second I would make it clear that the " bleacher coaches" opinion doesnt matter to me. Also just to make it clear I am not a parent nor do I have any conections with this team. I am just an alumni who has pride in the school he played for, and hates to see a "bad" groups of kids come thru with ther " bad" parents and destroy what many people worked hard to build a reputation for. By bad I mean bad attitude which you can use that in anyway you want since we arent here to spare feelings. This is just my opion tho, and it doesnt matter just as non of the rest of the opions on here matter. On the bright side I am galde that people started posting again I was getting really bored.
  7. True Oneida has got players that where there last year, but it doesn't help much to have returning players when attitudes. This team has some distractions that need to be delt with, and in my opinon should be delt with in a removal of the player. Incase any of you are in the dark about what i'm talking about there is a " not going to mention his name." senior whos parents are going above and beyond trying to talk the kid on the court. Aside from that another person whom I will not mention putting words in coaches mouths. If the player would let his playing do his talking there would be no problem, but when you go to practice with the attitude that you are "IT" and then go home and get smoke blew.... well we all know the rest. Point is if the player is the best then let me show it not mommy and daddy talk it. Second when I played sports if someones parents was doing this I wouldnt want them on my team nor did I like to play with ego's. These sort of players can do a number of things 1. Pull their head out and do what they are capable of. 2. They keep doing what they are doing, and the rest of the team be pulled down with them. 3. They could do the team a favor and either do option 1 or just QUIT and stop cause a destraction.
  8. Has the team really lost to anyone that they haven't been losing to in the past few years. I mean really people are acting like the team has bombed out or something. Yes they lost at Jellico who they barely beat in overtime last year, and they had a shot at winning this year untill a player foul'd out and desided to take his jersey off when he got to the bench and got T'd up which was the begining of the end to that game. All i'm saying is take a look back to results from last year before some of you deside to state your "facts". Also I get a chance to talk to Steve from time to time, and for any of you that get the plessure of thinking he gets on here to read most of the garbage that some people post well he doesn't. Last time I talked to him we talked about what some of you have been saying, and from what I got he has herd whats been said but doesn't feel the need to try to come on here and give any sort of responce. As for those players who played a lot last year well look at the people who are there now that they wasn't competing with for time last year, and for the JV most of the players on it didnt get playing time as 8th graders. So once again take a look back at last years results, stats before you feel the need to post your much valued oppinons. (Once again incase my grammar is throwing you for a loop the last part was sarcasam.) With that said i'm glad people started posting again I was running out of things to do. /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />
  9. Your right my grammar does need work, but look at it from my side someone who devoted their life to sports instead of studies. But studies are a part of a students life that is thrown away to win. Anyway I can't think of a coach that didn't start at a low level. Do you think coaches in the NBA woke up one day and said hhhmmmm I think i'll coach a pro team for a carrer. HA, I don't think so. Point is everyone starts somewhere as does this team need great improving. Coaching is more than just showing up making the kids run laps do drills and go home. It is a learning experience for both coaches and players. Either way if people would bite their tounge and speak when their opinion is neaded (it's NOT incase your having a hard time keeping up with my spelling). Point is do your job /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> , and the coaches will do their jobs of coaching this team. Either way you do give me something quite amusing to laugh at in my boredom. Hurry back and tell me how many I missed in this one; I do like a good game of spell check from time to time. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  10. Well take your personal dealings and take them for what they are/ where and move on like an adult does. If he is what you think he is then im sure the rest of us will find out, but im doubting we will find any new information about him since most of us have known him for a long time. Maybe soccer is your expertes. Maybe a thought about sticking with that?
  11. I agree with RO. This year is different in another way other than coaches. The team hasnt went this long with out their football players. As for Scott this is Oneida thread keep it that way, but since you invited them in the subject I was at the Kingston game.Scott High's coaching staff doesn't seem to be to swift on the player calls either. Since we are sideline coaches what I saw from the Highlanders that night was enough airballs from one player to cool the gym down and enough bricks from others to build a new house, and neither left the floor. Back to the point it is not easy for new coaches or players under new coaches. You can't turn anything around in one season. Look at where the Indians football team was and where it is now. Regaurdless of if you tell a coach what you think and they do the opposite to prove a point they have that power, but I highly doubt they will hurt their own team. They haven't even put a dent in the schedual and people are already talking anarchy. Give these guys time and you will see, and if your " SUPERSTARS" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> are what they or their parents think they are then they will get on the floor. Since none of us have the power to do anything how about we set back enjoy one of the games we love, support these kids and the coaching staff. At the end of the year if the people who's opinion really matters isn't happy then maybe some of you can put in an application or re-aply. Besides im sure Coach Yaden an his assistance arent biting their nails about what any of us are saying on here since we don't have an axe in our hand. Once again just my opinion we all have one some people are one and other talk out of theirs.
  12. No, these players cannot help the fact that they were in football, but it was their choice to play football. Second I don't see how the who's who comes into an effect. Even if the players you named are the ones who are best fit to be on the floor a " name" doesn't make up for their time out. When they have had time to get settled in if suited they will be put on the floor. As far as the comment about hurting the team Oneida has not had the best team around in a while even tho they have had talent. One of the assistance that is not suitable happend to be the coach of most of the boys while they were in middle school and look at were the middle school program has been for the past few years. From what i'v seen over the past few years the 5 on the floor play better as a team. I'm not going to mention any name's but some of the players are missled either in their mind or by parents that they are "SUPERSTARS". In my opinion OHS's prob over the past few years has been ego's. If the players are as good as they think or are hyped to be then let their playing do the talking and get them on the floor. It is a whole lot easier to coach from the stands and see what someone else's kid does wrong. Yes this is Coach Yaden's first year as a head coach in high school, and yes it is the other coaches first year in high school but between the three they have played a lot of ball. Probably more than most of the people who like to come here and coach behind a computer. If anyone would like to go talk to them face to face i'm sure they would love to hear your opinons. Some of the players think because they started last year it give them a spot this year, but it doesn't. You can't expect a new coach to come in and a team turn to gold in a short amount of time. The lose to Campbell Co was a lose to a good; that very few if any of the Oneida players could have a spot on their varsity. I don't pretend to know everything about basketball but I have been around it for a while and have been around Oneida basketball the past few years. As you said you don't care if your agreed with as I don't either so you can take what i'v said for what it is, but in the end its like a you know what. We all have one.
