  1. I feel sorry for the Onieda fans this week. They are probably looking at their win over Wartburg and actually think they did something. That was probably the worst talent and the worst coaching Wartburg has had in the last 15 years. I was at the coalfield/Wartburg game. They could have beaten Wartburg 66 to 6 if they had wanted to. Coach Kris called the dogs off halfway through the second quarter. He played his Freshman the whole second half. All I can say is Oniedas offensive tackles better be quick, if their not Davis and Duncan will eat their backs alive. Coalfield has to much fire power on both sides of the ball. Coalfield 28, Onieda 7.
  2. Your being nice saying it will only be 20, against Coalfield Wartburg couldn't move the ball on their subs. Coalfields subs played most of the second half. K. Laymance is out for a few games, so that's going to huert any chance they hae of keeping any game close. If Rockwood jumps out early it will be as ugly as it was at Coalfield.
  3. You have talent on three of the four county teams. It will be up to their coaches to help them in this area. Oakdale has maybe two. Coalfield has two, and wartburg has four to five. But it's up to the coaches to get their name out there.
  4. I'm a Wartburg fan but they started their slid in the fourth against Rockwood and haven't stopped. They have the best collection of talent that school has seen in twenty years. They have a defense that should dominate except for Hawn they fall short. It seems like their playing scared, afraid to do anything. If anyones seen them play the last two weeks please try to explain what is going wrong.
  5. Tank the way wartburg is playing now who knows. They started going down hill in the fourth quarter against Rockwood and haven't stop sliding yet. It's hard to tell how Wartburg will come out and play, if their ready they will give sw all they can handle.
  6. keep telling your kids at rockwood it's going to be a cake walk and maybe they will start thinking it is true. Thats all the edge wartburg will need. This game will be decided on the line not in the papers or the stat sheets, it'll be who wants it more.
  7. Both teams have speed, both teams have a big fast defense. Both teams can put points on the board. Who ever controls the defensive side of the ball is going to win. So I'm going with Wartburg in a sqeaker18 to 16.
  8. I was at the Oakdale, Wartburg game the other night. The local radio station choose to cover a game in Roane county instead of two county teams playing. Oakdale will not be on the air at all this season. I just wanted to know how you fell about that.
  9. The Coalfield-Oneida game will be won on defense. we've played both teams and their tough up front. But I've got to give the edge to Coalfield for their scrapy defense, there overall speed and their experiance in the backfield. Coalfiel 28, Oneida 7.
  10. to the indian and freshman. If I remember correctly Wartburg pulled most of their starters after they scored 5 straight times. By the way ask how that Q.B. felt after big dave England and Andrew Kittrell hammered him about 4 to 5 straight times on the option which by the way neted them maybe at the longest a ten yard run. Oh I forgot you completed a few passes to the boy with the long hair, but Jake Hawn was out for playing a little ruff with your bunch in the first qaurter. The thing you need to remember is that if Roger Lay Or Jack west ever quite keeping your sports program up you all will have to file CHAPTER 11.
  11. I have to give credit were credit is due the jackets have gone to playoffs more times than the dawgs. But, I can remember a year when coalfield just had 3 or 4 wins and went to the playoffs. When you have a program and supporters that can go fitch the best ballplayers from lesser programs (witness the latest transfer, and I'm sure he is going to play at U.T. just like all the rest have that's came there) You can really smoke teams like oakdale, sunbright and onedia, etc. but listen anybody that can beat that bunch of p@#$%'s from onedia is o.k. Now try to go up against sweetwater(there about as good at receiving new talent were it is needed as you all are) OZ, Alcoa, Rockwood and Harriman. The last time I checked this was still the toughest 2A district in the state, and Wartburg has one of the smallest 2A enrollments. You might win tonight than again you might not. Let's let the boy's decide it on the field.
  12. I'm new to this site but I keep reading about Gunter only having 10 yards in the sunbright game and John t. not doing well. Every one that was at the game and PAID ATTENTION had to notice that coach Davis started subing about the 3rd play of the game. The dawgs could have scored 41 in the 1st. half if they would have left the starters in. If one of four players from Coalfield goes down their hurting bad. If Lowe goes down, which he's been known to do frequently you'll be able to stick a fork in the jackets because they will be done. My prediction remains the same Dawg's 32, jackets 14. Because of there depth.
  13. Hey people let's be honest here. If Gilbert hadn't deserted oakdale the spread would be 21 points easy. But as always a football game is won as a team effort. Gilbert will have some big plays, a kid that fast always does. But lets face it people the dawgs are to big, to fast and to strong up front. COACHS DAVIS AND GIBSON HAVE TO MANY GUNS TO GO TO. 32 to 14 wartburg because of therre defense.
