  1. Talking about state already? Please, RB hasn't been to state since they had a future UTK number one running back on their team. Even back then they didn't have to go through maryville. It's quite immature to talk of state, region four-AAAA is competitive enough, but when it comes to play off time, any 4-4a team is fighting an uphill battle.
  2. The weather could be a possible neutralizer in this matchup.
  3. Yeah, Maryville probably wouldn't win, as good as they are.
  4. That Powell game wasn't even a game. Hixson knew going into it that they weren't going to beat them, and their intensity on the field reflected that. Trust me, I was on that team. As far as Brainerd beating Hixson, it's very possible, but I think Hixson will prepare well. Coach Windham will be pushing them hard after getting embarassed by Cleveland. Should be an interesting matchup.
  5. Yep. Told you so. I dont understand why Hixson changed quarterbacks, I doubt they could've won with Kevin Cantrell at the helm, but changing QBs for an inexperienced Greg Rivers, who is a far better receiver than QB was a dumb decision. I don't understand why an offensive coordinator would do such a thing, and I dont understand further more why a head coach would allow it.
  6. The true deciding factor on whether or not Hixson will compete with Cleveland lies on Hixson's QB's shoulders. If he will trust his line and go through his progressions, Hixson can be competitive with the Blue Raiders. He needs to dump it off to his safety valves instead of always going for the homerun.
  7. Hixson hasn't beat Cleveland in years. The last time they did, they had two future NFL safeties playing, and they barely won. As much as I'd like to see Hixson win, I don't know if they have the discipline for this veteran bunch. All those athletes for Hixson that were named off, Hixson had last year, plus a senior offensive line. I'd be very suprised to see Hixson win this one, but I sure hope they do.
  8. Brainerd's the Mike Tyson of Chattanooga Teams, and they are not bouncing back. I'm talking White Co.
  9. It really does, but we have a safer, cleaner city. So it's trade offs I suppose. Maryville is just a freakin' power house.
  10. This should be a pretty interesting matchup, but before I get into that, let me just preface by saying that Red Bank is NO Maryville. Stop all the looney talk. You are disrespecting a nationally ranked program that hasn't lost a regular season game in years. McCallie playing Red Bank would be an interesting match up too, but I still don't even know if Red Bank could beat them. In this game though, Red Bank is the favorite. Cleveland is looking strong, and this has all the makings to be a good game, but Red Bank is a very strong, athletic, well coached team. I'm taking Red Bank plus 14.
  11. Lol White Co. fans are the butts of many jokes these days. If only they could accept simple defeat.
  12. He's very good athletically. Quick and tall. I remember him scoring on Hixson last year, it was like an 80 yard pass and catch, but he did most of the work. I imagine Hixson will put their best DB Charles Hardy on him, who is equally quick, but not quite as tall. Should be an interesting match up.
  13. Does that hothead JJ Taylor still play for WC?
  14. Why so secretive? Teams exchange film. Everyone knows that Hixson has a wing-t based offense. For how small their line is, and how little depth they have, they run it very well. When healthy, they are loaded with talent of defense as well.
