I have heard various stories on the door? regardless it should not have happened and changes have been made to assure it doesn't. the thiefs were caught - 2 adults 1 freshman- nobody involved was associted with smyrna athletics at all the sro said "most" of the items were recovered and he was going to be returning them to cookeville.

thanks again for the support 2 p. there are several on here that give their opinions sometimes i agree sometimes I dont but you can count on one thing if you go after their teams they will come right back after you. I can answer the negative question stuff. I wouldn't call it using negatives but I have never seen a team as talented as smyrna and defending state champion be doubted week after week. It would be foolish for the coaches not to use that as extra motivation although smyrna is very motivated just having a chance to get back to the chamiponship again. I can assure by friday very few outside Smyrna will think Smyrna has a chance. 2p is right anytime you put sonny gray on the field in a playoff game you are going to have a chnace to win classless? - I was on the sideline the entire game and didn't here a cross word between the teams. After the game they shook hands said good game and wc players wished smyrna good luck that was it nothing more. While smyrna has its stars in sonny and rod the rest especially the defense are as blue collar as they come. They have been coached to turn it lose on the field and let their play speak for it self. Once the game is over they get excited especially since they just held one of the best offenses in the area to 7 points. bryson - 12 tds over 1000 rushing he will be special the wc wallpaper - I have to dis agree - now it could have been done in a mean spirited way and I would not have liked that but it was really pretty harmless stuff and it took me looking at it a couple times to even see it! it is weird the game this week feels like last year vs ooltewah. a good team we know nothing about.

it took me a minute! I was thinking why are all our fans picking bearden?

obviously these are 2 very good teams playing each other and despite some on here trying to get stuff started the truth is no one knows a soul on either team so not a lot of emotinal stuff going on just a good game. Im sure by friday enough will be said to get the fans excited but as I said the teams will just do what they do. in truth no one has a clue how this game will play out and that is what makes these games fun oh by the way all these posters with bulldogs in their name are confusing!!

I am grown 6 ft 227 !!! being qb club president does not prevent me from giving my opinions and they are what they are. wc played hard and I gave them all the credit but .their fans are on here whining and throwing the old classless card that riverdale has had thrown at them for years when they were winning As far as my being an example of a qb club president --- trust me on this one I dont believe you will find a single player from smyrna that would trade me for anyone you have. wc's team played as hard as they could. they earned their respect. the wc posters on here cheapen their effort. most of the wc posters on here today (except dub c fan) sound like just what you are "a bunch of sore loser whinners that cant except the fact you were beaten by a better team twice in less than a month" as for how teams celebrate after a state chamionship --- well that is something you won't have to worry about let me summarize most of the wc posters this morning and once you read it you will see how whiny youy sound "their mean" "they cheat" "the refs were awful" "the celebrate when they win" you got beat deal with it.

refresher round one: cookeville - to physical and disciplined for smyrna will run right at smyrna. smyrna 2 man show wilks and gray smyrna 28 cookeville 10 cookeville 7 staright 3 and outs for net 4 yards. tb bryson 178 yards and 3 tds round 2: lc region 3 champ at lc (lincoln county) once again to physical and their defense is to good for smyrna to move the ball smyrna 43 lc 16 lc offense 29 rushes for 22 yards put the ball in the air 8 times 3 were intercepted round 3: wilson central: scored 44 on coffe county scored 35 on riverdale their offense is to tough and will roll up some points smyrna 17 wc 7 1 td and shut out for 3 quarters now this week Smyrna the defending state champion will go into this game as an under dog. you will read it on here all week I guarantee you. I am sure bearden is an outstanding football and look forward to the game.I think most teams as much as they enjoy rivalries are ready to get out of region and see some new folks. its a long story but has nothing to do with smyrna per say something about some othe regiosns never getting to host all the way through the play offs. it is on the tssaa web site they what and whys but once again it had nothing to do with region 4 or smyrna it just worked out that way for this year. however it is nice to be home again although smyrna isnt bad on the road -- they haven't lost on the road in over 2 years

my view/my opinion wc has lots of athletes and their offense usues all of them to their max mcchurch is a heck of an athlete and majors runs hard and is tough to tackle one one one where wc got hurt was they did not complete a pass till the last minute or so. All those play action and flea flickers went for nothing and smyrna was well preparred and in great position. wc had the ball and great field position virtually the entire 1st half and came away with only 7 points. They also mis managed the clock and time ran out before they could try a chip shot field goal. The 1st half was where they probably lost the game. Smyrna made good defense adjustments the second half and were in better position to make the play. This is 2nd quarter finals in a row that smyrna has only given up 7 points and shut out the opponent for the last 3 qtrs playing bend dont break defense. Several wc runs for 10 or 15 yards would have been tds against a lot of teams but smyrna has toi much speed on defense. biggest plays of the game 1. smyrna getting a stop on wc the 1st drive of the 2nd half 2. sonny hitting rod for 55 yards on the opening drive of the 3rd qtr that set the tone and the drive ended up with a td 3. after our kicker kicking 2 kickoffs out of bounds and wc taking a re kick instead of the ball at the 35 our kicker kicks the kick off of his life and we make a one on one tackle inside the 20. In the end smyrna never panicked and made good adjustments at halftime. despite trailing to start the game smyrna just kept playing and kept their focus and against a team that has the athletes wc does that is saying something. Smyrna just "took care of business" By the way great crowd tonight the place was more than full and wc brought a huge crowd that was very loud.

relax 2p has a right to his opinion. I post on other threads and give my opinions a lot (probably to much). Somtime folks agree sometimes they dont. Sometimes I agree with 2p sometimes I dont but thats all part of coach t. every poster on here has a right to their opinion on any thread they choose. sometimes folks take it all to serious so just chill its all ok. I will guarantee you not a word said or spoken on here will have a thing to do with the winner of tonights game.

being anonymous brings out the courage in a lot of posters they would not have if they were known. pretty much everyone know who I am so what you see is what you get. I have over the years posted many many post on a lot of threads. A couple times after reviewing them later said "that was probably a little strong and either edited or posted another one toning it down. There have also been about 2 where I posted something that I knew in minutes " I probably shouldn't have said that" and in both instances I apoligized to the party involved. It does make you have to realize when you post that you shouldn't post something you wouldn't say in public. a couple rules I try to go by 1. never call hs players out by name unless you want to compliment them ( the receivers may drop balls but never by name) 2. remeber a lot of the posters are kids so don't get drawn into arguing with them on here. 3. try to use facts and stats to make arguments 4. its ok to have sometimes heated dis agreements with others on here.I have had some good oneswith some of the posters I would consider friends on here have been how ever just because people know who you are doesn't mean you cant discuss hs football on all the threads and be vigorous in your opinions. as for the qb at lc ----- these age old sayings come to mind: qb's get to much credit when you win and to much blame when you lose the best qb on any team at any level is usually the back up. you here pro fans cheer to put them in all the time by the way I have experience with this- my oldest son played qb for lavergne their second or 3rd yr of existence and they were awful and at the time had the longest losing streak in the state. I cant tell you how many times people around me would say he was the problem even though he usually got tackled as soon as he got the snap! After seeing lc (in person and on film) the qb is the least of their problems. They just do not have the talent they used to have and they still run exactly the same formations and plays they have always ran it is that simple. one last thing the fans at smyrnas game still set on the visitors side despite plenty of seats being availbale on the home side and their are no reserved seats in the playoffs. If those folks had of moved to lc's side they would have been louder as a group and more supportive.

I was thinking ----- well good somebody from wc did some for them ---- then I thought wow thats weird? why do those signs say go smyrna? then I caught on im sure wc floks will have a heart attack but hopefully most will catch the humor. tommorrow night none of it will matter. 2 good teams that know each other well one will win one won't and nobody posting on here will have a thing to do with it. its been a good week enjoyed the back and forth from wc folks both teams will be well supported.

wc has scored a lot their 1st 2 games but-------------------------- i have seen the film on cc and riverdale and both of those teams went 3 and out on offense to many times to count especially cc. smyrnas offense will not go 3 and out 5 or 6 times in a row and keep giving the ball right back to wc. less possesions -= less scoring smyrna 35 wc 24

the weird thing is now teams run wing t offenses but there are clearly 2 diffirent versions riverdale runs what I call the classic wing t emphasizing running with power and ball control and throwing is not in the plan of attaack. This is the version if you get it stopped they have no plan b. Adeylott said several times on the saturday coaches show he does not like to throw the ball. wc is wing t in name only. they do have a wing t component but rely much more on sweeps and will pass the ball on any down. The biggest thing that has lead to their success is the willingness to break the bone so to speak at various times. I have heard riverdales demise for years bur there is a huge difference usually it was because they lost a star player like dave or gaston and the freshman were usually undefeated and central middle was feeding them all their players. The difference is this time riverdale is losing more core players than ever and they cant count on getting reloaded with talent every year. you are right riverdaleman they will always be good adeylott is good enough at running the wing t to be in every game but as you said that very wing t will also keep whoever they are playing in the games also. you know smyrna losses a couple pretty good players after this year so lets just say its no time for me to throwing stones /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> look next year though for shad to change the offense we have 3 huge lineman coming up to go along with eady.With Bryson and the other freshman tb look for run run run.

that is so fuuny! coach shad using a computer. I dont know much but one thing I do know is coach shad will tell you he barely knows how to turn one on. Im hope wc puts them on their ceilings and walls because it will make zero difference once the game starts. I can tell you Smyrna is as focused as I have ever seen them and they have gotten the message loud and clear that this is the game everyne expects them to falter. No way Smyrna is anything but ready for this game. This weeks practices have been very sharp and physical. Smyrna is going to be hitting on all cylinders friday night you can count on it. They have heard enough about the wc juggernaut that is destined for murfreesboro. They heard the same thing in 06 when an undefeated 13 and 0 ooltewah team came to town.

I know I speak for everybody in the region when I say "I sure hope not!" /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> jk but in all seriousness you have seen the underclassmen as well as the freshman and middle school talent coming up to riverdale as well as what others in the region have and by any unbiased analysis the scale is tipping away from riverdale. You should have a better view thatn anybody - you saw the talent level that was ahead of you and the talent level of what is following. In my opinion riverdale will be a very solid program and will be one of the teams in the hunt most years just like 6 or 7 other teams. heres a better question - what do you see for riverdales future?

I agree about the playing these games at big stadiums. Even though last years Smyrna vs Ravenwood game had a good crowd and was a good atmosphere I have been to a lot of bcbs bowls where it had zero atmosphere and felt like an empty crypt. The semi finals at Smyrna's stadium between Smyrna and Ooltewah was the best hs atmosphere and crowd I have ever seen. It was packed around the field and loud. I also like natural grass fields but there is no way it can hold up to as many as 5 games in 2 days like are played at MTSU especially this time of year when a couple freezes kill off the grass. By the way you guys are pretty mean to each other on some of the earlier post------way to go!
