  1. Let's take it a step further. 1A average attendance is 1000. TSSAA makes 108,500 2A average attendance is 2000. TSSAA makes 217,000 3A average attendance is 3000. TSSAA makes 325,500 4A average attendance is 4000. TSSAA makes 434,000 5A average attendance is 4000. TSSAA makes 434,000 Total money TSSAA gets for 5 weeks is $1,519,000. And that is being generous on the attendance figures. Unbelievable.
  2. They can't be the worst team. They are 1-1. They beat somebody.
  3. I am from Hampton and know nothing about Jellico. I know Hampton played 4a Johnson County tough and should have won. How good is Jellico and will the game be a good one?
  4. Does Hampton have any scrimmages scheduled. If so, I'd like to know the place and time. How have they done in previous scrimmages?
  5. Just to let everyone know. I have no horse in this race. However, I did go to the state tournament. I have seen Skogen play 3 times and Doaks play 3 games. This is my opinion. Skogen is a better "High School Player". Doaks was just so much bigger and stronger than anyone in the games I saw. Most shots he made were 3 feet from the basket. (thus the higher shooting percentage). Skogen made shots from all over the floor. From what I seen at the tournament, the refs were letting him go over the back a lot! This is just my opinion so don't get fussy. When Doaks plays with people his own size, he will have to show me he can still play. Keep in mind this opinion is just from watching both players only 3 times. My vote would have went to Skogen.
  6. Don't forget about Hampton moving down in classification. They have a lot of players coming back. Played very competetive in AA just didn't get alot of breaks.
  7. Look, I am not from Unaka, but I am from Carter County. I support Unaka and the reason I started this post is to see what Peabody has. The only thing I know about them is what I read on here. On all the other posts, all I heard about was Doaks. I figured they had other good players or they would not be here. I am planning on driving down to watch and like any good fan I wanted to know some things about both teams. PS I only wiegh 145.
  8. I have not seen or heard a lot about Peabody, but I have seen Unaka play 4 or 5 times. Does Peabody have any ball handlers? If not, this game could be over early. If Peabody can't get it down the floor, how can Doaks score? Unaka's defense is relentless. Their press is tough to beat. If Peabody's guards are not great passers and ball handlers, I say Unaka wins easy.
  9. I know Doug Phillips has replaced her on an interum basis, but says he will not coach next year. Anyone heard any names floating around for the job next year.
  10. Hands down! the Ensors at Unaka. They have developed a great program there and they do get the most out of their players. They put their players in a postition to succeed and teach them how to succeed.
  11. Does anyone know the scores from the Elizabethton HOF games. What about Hampton- Greenville?
  12. You are right. Better athletes. But as we know all Unaka's players are smart and can shoot the ball.
  13. I have seen a lot of posts not giving Unaka a chance to repeat. I would like to say never count them out. Why?? The system. Its all about the system. As long as the Ensors are up on the creek, they will be competetive. The press they run is a system that allows average players to play great. That is what carried them last year. The bad news for other teams is they have better players to put into the system this year. Just a warning.
  14. News is Chucky Lindholm is gone to Virginia. Anyone know any details? I know this hurts Voluteer's football and basketball programs.
  15. I believe Unaka will compete for a conference title in football. Is this due to momentum? I believe it to be a combination of Cloudland being down and Unaka's coaches getting the athletes out to play. Over the years Unaka has had some great athletes that did not play football. This year they seemed to be excited to play. I think Unaka coaches had did a great job getting the athletes out to play. It will be a good year for Unaka football.
  16. I am not very good at understanding these classifications, but it looks like Hampton will be moving down with an enrollment of 393. This puts them with Unaka and Cloudland. How do you think they will fair in the lower class? I believe they will have a great season next year in all sports if this classification is correct. How do you guys from Unaka and Cloudland feel about Hampton moving down?
  17. Cloudland made a lot of simple mistakes against Hampton. Such as long snaps on punts. They also had a terrible time on the kick-offs. I believe if they improve a little on special teams and in their secondary. They could win a few games.
  18. CLoudland will have to be prepared to face Unaka. I think they are looking for revenge from last year. I am sure they circled the Cloudland game on their schedule.
  19. Hampton used A passing attack rarely seen from a hampton team to beat cloudland 28-8. How do you think Hampton will fair the rest of the season. How will Cloudland do? I know I saw a lot of Unaka fans and coaches at the game.
  20. I know Hampton ha a good team. Best I've seen in a few years. I do not know much about CLoudland. I do know HHS thrashed West Green in a scrimmage. They have three capable players in Crabtree, Moss, and Walsh. I heard they will be running a lot of option. I wish I knew a little about CLoudland so I could pick a score.
  21. I can't speak for cloudland, but I know Hampton thrashed West Green in a scrimage. Walsh is a good player, but watch for crabtree (quarterback) an Moss. I heard they will be running a lot of option. Since I do not know much about Cloudland I cannot predict a score, but I do know Hampton Is much improved. Best team I've seen here in a few years.
  22. I hate to see people on here from Carter County putting down the Rangers. I am a Hampton fan and I was probably just as excited as the Ranger fans. I was at work and had the radio on listening. I believe Unaka has two of the best coaches around. I am a elementary coach and I would love to learn from these guys. I just want the Rangers to know that a HHS fan is very proud of your accomplishments and I know you have given the rest of the schools in Carter County confidence in showing that it can be done. Congrats again and best of luck next year.
  23. I agree. You stop Baughman, You stop the cyclones. I have also realized that they are not very good at handling the full court press.
