  1. What about any rumors floating around?
  2. Has anyone heard of any coaching changes for the next year?
  3. I have seen every team play this year. I look for Eliz. to win 1st; however unlike everyone else. Ilook for Hampton to finish second after upseting Unicoi. Unicoi third and Central fourth.
  4. Does anyone know the final score of the Daniel Boone, Sullivan East game?
  5. Tonight is a big game for both squads. It could give Eliz. some breathing room in the conference, but it could also vault the dogs to the front and tighten the race. I believe Hampton has a chance if the will reboud the ball. That killed them at Elizabethton. (Along with foul shots)
  6. Carter County Elementary Varsity coaches get $1050. About $800 after taxes.
  7. Did Unaka play JC or Greenville the other night and what was the score?
  8. I know Hampton beat Johnson County 28 to 5 and appartly looked real good.
  9. I know Hampton beat JC last nightin the 1aa jamboree. the score was 28 to 5. Does anyone else know any of the other scores and who looked good and who looked like the front runner?
  10. I am a JR High Girl's basketball coach. During the summer I played both the Happy Valley team and TA Dugger team in a camp. To me as a coach I would have to say that HV must have had a bad night. I believe the starting 5 for both teams were about equal; however, I also believe that TA Dugger had a lot more quality on their bench which might have made the difference last night. As for the high school teams, I believe Eliz. was underated as well as Hampton in those preseason remarks by Holtsclaw. I do not believe HV will win this conference. Eliz and Hampton both beat HV last year. Hampton did not lose a player and Eliz only lost one. Hampton will also not lose a player this year (all sophs and Juniors). TA Dugger is also supplying Eliz. with great player in the next couple of years. I have coached against them and know there talent.

  12. How is this district shaking out. Who will contend and who won't. Let's hear it. I know there are people here from all these schools. Let us know how they look. I
  13. I know Elizabethton returns some quality players and Hampton should be really tough for the next few years. They return everyone. Most of their top players are Sophmores. Look for them to make a run.
  14. I know HHS has a lot of athletes, but it is to be seen how they will work as a team. Inside they have player like Jacob Culler, Adam Miller, and Shane Campbell. At guards they have Jacob Moss and Lucas Honeycut. I don't think they have developed a legitamate point man yet, which could be their downfall.
  15. This district is pretty wide open. It is equal from top to bottom. Hampton has a lot of athletes and HV has Charlie Bayless. Elizabethton is always tough and cental and Volunteer has a lot of talent. This district could come down to who makes their free throws during the year. I have tried to preach this to my team all summer. Free throws make a big difference in winning and losing.
  16. Is UH's Bradly back this year or dod he transfer?
  17. I am not from Cloudland, but I have seen mark byrd play a few times this year. I have to say I have seen noone better. This kid does it all. He plays QB, DB, Kicker, Punter, Returm Man, Reciever, Tail Back. Thats not even the impressive part. He does each of these great. I do not know his stats, but I do know he has not played in many second half plays. I watched the game against Hampton, and I thought everyone out there was named Byrd. Thats all the PA announcer was saying. Every time he touched the ball, it was a big play. Also, he has a great attutude and has excellent character. I have no knowledge of what kind of grades he makes. But trust me this is a candidate worth voting for.
  18. Who are the top teams in this region? I know Hampton and Elizabethton should be tough but what about the rest?
  19. Hampton is better than last year, although their record doesn't show it. I believe Pitman, Happy Valley, and Hampton either one could turn out to be the champs. This is really the closest race i've seen in a while.
  20. Has anyone saw this kid at Hampton Elementary. 6 feet 5; 370 pounds. He dwarfs eveyone of his opponants and teammates. This kid does not recognize his strength he just pushes everyone out of the way. So far this year his team is undefeated and according to their coach has the best team he has ever had there. I guess the future looks bright for the Dogs. If the team stays together.
  21. I believe your right about Morton being out it will give JC an advantage, However Hampton does have a good backup in Crabtree. He is small but has tremendous speed and strength. Look for the Dogs to run more of an option offense.
  22. I am looking forward to Friday's game between the Dogs and the Horns. It is going to be a smashmouth game. Although Hampton is 0-2 ,both losses have been to top teams in the state. Both teams had good not great pasing games which hurt Hampton alot. I don't see JC as a throwing team. Hampton can match up well with JC's line. If JC don't trow the ball, I believe the Dogs will win. Even if JC decides to throw the ball, JC Campbell will have his dogs whipped into shape with their pass defense after seening what happened the first two weeks. Either way, I see Hampton coming out victorious. What do the rest of you think?

    Hampton

What do you guys think about Crabtree as backup QB? From what i seen against Catholic, he can run the ball real well. Maybe some option against JC? He also impressed me at Cloudland with that second half touchdown pass. he has good speed, but he lacks size. I believe he will do OK if we need him.

    Hampton

Is it just me or is Hampton playing below its expectations or has Cloudland and Catholic been that good? To me Hampton's defense is usually a strong point but this year it seems to be their downfall. During their first two games i have seen recievers come wide open with no one within 15 yards. There has seemed to be a lot of mental mistakes and poor tackling. Does anyone else see this or is it just me?
