  1. No AAA schedule for schools in your area yet? When do you guys play and whom do you play against?
  2. 78 - I'm thinking of you tonight and sending good and heart-healing thoughts to you. The night will go fast and Whit will be proud of her parents like you and Mrs. 78 are so proud of her. All my best tonight and always, CU
  3. You know I love you, PM. That was a nice thing to do! Jinx,... double jinx,... triple jinx,... infinity jinx,... you owe me a coke!
  4. Oh, gosh, it comes to this...senior night! My best to Whit and Rachel in their future endeavors! Sad night for parents, though. I'll be thinking of you, 78, you know that - right?
  5. I'm still freakin babbling!!! Somebody help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I will agree with the babbling thing...WTF? Why aren't we allowed to babble any more?? I guess we must keep our comments specifically to vb or else the coacht police will come and take us to Gitmo for babbling. I like babbling....could anyone tell??? Should we start our own thread specifically for babbling?? 78, we could babble to each other and not allow anyone else to babble with us!! Jeez!!!!!!!
  7. Hey, 78 - have you come up with a plot for this play yet?
  8. I hope that is the last time that happens...we need the O girls in the boro!
  9. These shorts would be restrictive when the girls roll or slide on the floor. The girls know that these might slide off if they try to slide like a seal and pancake a ball. They also know that they would be immodest if they do a roll, so they might be unlikely to actually do the roll that they need to do. Spandex has been around for many, many years. It's not evil, it's practical. If it's an issue for someone, then they can approach the coach. If the coach wants spandex cause it is better for the game, then the girl has a hard choice to make. It won't be the first or last hard choice to be made in that life.
  10. So, isn't comfort and range of motion enough of a reason for you? It is for most serious vb players. T, maybe you should try wearing spandex...you might like it!!
  11. I think play4keeps has it right (as usual) - simple and to the point...comfort and range of motion. patsfan also has a point when it comes to modesty.
  12. No offense to anyone here, but I think this is such a strange conversation. I have never heard a girl protest wearing the spandex...ever. Some put on shorts over the spandex after the match, but that is even a tiny minority. I've been around vb for years and years. I've seen National Championships many times. I've talked to hundreds of parents at these events. None have ever, and I mean never ever mentioned the idea that their volleyball players didn't want to wear the spandex. Since 99.999999% of girls don't even give spandex a second thought, then the .0000001% will either have to wear what the coach tells them to, or not. It's just that simple.
  13. No doubt about that!! Hi 78!
  14. So glad to see that you're back!! We missed you, 78.
  15. I agree with almost everything you said except the "modesty is up to the individual" thing. These are "teams" and the coach has the authority to dictate what should and should not be considered modest. It should not be up to the girls to say that they will wear whatever they want. It is a coaches decision. If the girls don't want to abide by the coaches decision, then they don't have to play the sport. The tummy/midriff thing is just a personal thing with me. If a coach deems that to be appropriate, then it is out of my hands, unless I want to take my daughter out of the sport she loves.
  16. I might also add that tight uniforms are preferred so that the uniforms don't touch the net, which is a net violation and a point for the other team. My daughter liked spandex much better because she didn't have to constantly adjust them or pull them up. She could concentrate on the game, not the clothes. I am not a fan of the short jerseys and low rider shorts together. A coach has to put limits on modesty and I think the girls should not have their tummies showing every time they go up for a kill or a block. I also really don't like to see their tummies when they are just standing around. JMHO
  17. As a poor stand in for Pageman, I am posting results of this match. Page over Spring Hill 3-0 (26-24, 25-7, 25-11)
  18. Oh yeah...I can get up for real! about 6 inches and then I take advil!!!!!! (that's why I'm a setter)
  19. Stop........ Really, Stop!!! Now come on...stop it.... Ok, I'm blushing! The chili recipe is actually from another mom that had 3 girls in the volleyball program so she has made this recipe from the beginning of the Page Classic, which was about 11, or maybe 12 years ago. It is a Page tradition. It's also really good stuff! Almost as good as brats cooked in beer!
  20. That was a very accurate prediction, Dossman. It was nice meeting you tonight! Maybe we'll see you again at the tournament tomorrow and Sat.
  21. Are the Brock sisters at East Ridge because their mom coaches there? I didn't know that if true? Edit to say that this thread will probably get moved to the Private/Public forum.
  22. You are truly a talented man!!!!! I think I'll come see the match tonight, so I'll see you there!
  23. There is also a home football game against David Lipscomb, a local team with many fans, Friday night so parking will be at a premium from about 6 pm. Just an FYI for you vb fans.
