  1. haha well apparently redbaron515 didn't read the previous post before leaving his own post. but Gulleyball is correct in saying that JPII beat BA 5-0. also, he is correct in saying that JPII then had to play DA...with the winner of that game playing Father Ryan on Thursday.
  2. that's an excellent question...what is going on in the D2 region? Has it been played yet?
  3. from what i heard the reason that melissa wasnt playing at the time is bc she couldnt hit the ball. the person taking her spot was hitting around 320. melissa was hitting a buck 42. now i dont know bout yall but the person having the better stats in hitting in my opinion plays. but these girls from mj will bounch back without their best pitcher. i hope susan doesnt regret that she quit the team. but i think she will. in my years of watchign and playing sports if i player had a problem with a coach instead of just quiting and letting their team down wouldnt a player talk to the coach bout their problems they have with their coach. i know one of the girls did but that was ruined by what i hear was an on the field incident with her two parents. i dont konw bout the other two girls but i sure hope they talked to him before they decided to turn their jersey's in if they didnt they must not really have cared about the other 15 or so girls on the team.
  4. yea some important players QUIT the team today. i believe u dont quit on the team. i believe these individuals cared more about themselves then their teammates. These players decided to put their own ambitions in front of the name of the jersey. i believe if any person from any school decides to quit dont blame it on the coaching. the girls that quit today didn't in my opinion play up to their potential. these girls played well enough to stay in the game but they were not dominant like they can be. mj will bounch back this weekend in hoover and will surprise people. Just remember girls all u have to do is believe in yourself as a team and play as one. go ahead and put the incidents of today and past couple of days behind and start a new season.
  5. suckitup, I clearly stated right off the bat in my first post (refer to the first post in this thread) that Stratford was clearly the better team Friday. So I dont see the excuses I'm "making to cover up how bad MJ has been playing", cause they have been playing poorly. I only said that the band was annoying and the PA announcer (fill-in or not) was trying to take over the show himself. Also, it doesnt matter if we had twice as many fans as SHS because we couldnt capitalize on any of the 4738563450345 penalty yards against the SPAHTANS...and yes the H is there on purpose. Anyway, SHS deserved to beat us because like I said on Friday, they ran an offense that we simply didnt have the athletes to stop, plain and simple. So tone down the penalties and you guys have a good shot later on, because good playoff teams will capitalize on your mistakes. This was intended to be a positive post for Stratford so I dont wanna hear any crap about how Im putting them down.
  6. Good Lord, someone please inform Stratford of these rules.
  7. Well, looks like for the second straight week, MJ was outmatched physically. Stratford ran an offense that MJ hasnt seen much of this year and it took a while for the Bears' D to adjust. Stratford has a good but very undisciplined team, I cant even begin to count the amount of penalties they had called tonight. But of course MJ did nothing to benefit themselves. By the way, Stratford's band and PA announcing needs a little toning down. Bands playing during the game constantly AND a PA announcer that does play-by-play. Unacceptable. MJ pulled a fake FG early in the game and as the play started to develop, he gets on and yells "Its a fake!". Not to mention how he was communicating with individual players during the game. "Good escape Jason" (or whatever his name was) he says after elluding a rush and throwing the ball away. Sorry, thats unacceptable to me and I'll end by saying MJ was outskilled tonight. Thank you.
  8. As for my opinion, theft is wrong in any way, shape or form. It doesnt matter who does it or what it stolen. I agree with region4fan and toejam because they seem to be the only ones on this board with a sense of discipline.
  9. here's my picks in 6-4A for this week: - MJ over Stratford (much like toejamwarrior, this is a pride pick.....however if Humes and Brown arent on track its Stratford easily) - White House over NW in a close one, NW is a very impressive team, White House is gonna have a handful with Wilkerson (I believe) from NW but I think White House will put up enough points to get it done - Pearl Cohn over Whites Creek in all likelyhood - Northeast over Maplewood - Rossview over Springfield Well once again, this is another huge week for all teams involved. Good luck to all.
  10. Anything can happen these last three weeks of the season. I don't think that anybody needs to be trash talking at this point of the season. This is the time when every game means something and that one loss could eliminate your team from contention.
  11. alright, im getting a little irritated with this whole playoff format question, whether theres group A and B or anything. as of july 1, 2003, tssaa.org states: A.) All teams are required to play all other teams within their region. The teams with the best region records shall be declared the region winner, runner-up, third and fourth place and shall advance to the first round of the football playoff series. im assuming that clearly means 1-4 in the region go. unless theres an exception for 6-4A somewhere in there.
  12. This is going to be the biggest game for MJ in the last 3 years. There is excitement surrounding the Bears again after being the doormat in 5A the last two years. It's going to be interesting to see how MJ reacts to the "pressure" of the game that will do all but end playoff hopes with a loss. Despite it being a Thursday night game, there should be an electric atmosphere at Elzie Patton (as long as students are back from their intercession breaks from year-round school). None of the players on the MJ roster have any big game experience from the 2000 season when they made the playoffs, so we'll see how the Bears react to the big game intensity. Also, watch for Levi Brown and his connection B.B. Bruce.
  13. thank you region4fan. good to see you dont forget about the team that USED to be competitive in 5A.
