  1. Whew, Falcons win over West Greene, 16-14 in 9 innings. The guys got some key hits and Fiver came in there and gutted it out for the last 4 innings. They had the bases loaded in the 8th with one out and the score tied at 13. Heath got them to pop out to him and ground out to end the inning. 2 big ones tomorrow. Last time these seniors will play on the home field. Everyone come out and wish them well. Come hungry and eat well. Edited to congratulate West Greene on their park. I was very impressed with their playing surface and the surrounding area. I like a field with a little character to it. It was a fun place to watch a game.
  2. Okay, Seniors, this could be the last week of your baseball careers. You have 4 games, maybe more. Put it all on the line for your school, your coaches and teammates, and most importantly, yourselves. When you step off the field for the last time, let yourself know that you gave it all. Starts today at West Greene.
  3. Falcons take it on the chin tonight. Cherokee wins 11-5. They hit the crap out of the ball. We scored 5 in the 1st, then shut it down. Well, let's go to Greene County Monday and try to get it back on track. Tuesday night is Senior Night. All TRUE Falcon Fanatics come out and thank these boys for their dedication to the program.
  4. 2 good w's tonight against Sullivan North. Dylan Christian pitched 7 good innings in the first and Justo came in and threw 5 good relief innings. Falcons win 7-6 in 12 innings on a base hit by Coty Reece. Game 2, ol' #5 (Heath Seal)pitched 5 strong innings and Falcons win 10-0. Our cross-county rivals, the Cheifs, come calling Saturday night. Come on out and support the guys.
  5. I know this thread is for the high school team, but I also know many of you keep up with the middle school team. Besides, I am so proud of their effort, I wanted to tell someone. Church Hill lost in the bottom of the 9th to Robinson, 3-2, in the semi-final game of the conference tourney. Those boys battled back from a 2-0 deficit and scored 2 in the 7th to send it to extra innings. They just got drilled by Robinson last week, but they didn't lay down, they fought back. The future looks bright for the Falcon faithful.
  6. I'm glad we have you and your's and ULCpanther and his crew and many others like you. I have spouted off on here about what I do, but it's the silent majority like you guys that have been there at every opportunity and worked their tails off to help the program and not received the thanks you deserve. Hats off to you. I'm sure Coach McClain would agree.
  7. I think they made it into the 3d. On the radio, it sounded like a pitcher's duel. 0-0 DB had 2 hits and I didn't hear TT say how many we had. I wonder when it will be made up?
  8. There are definitely fewer options at that age. Have your son ask Coach McClain to call Pappy Crowe and see if he knows of anyone in the Johnson City area. Maybe niner can be of some help. If there is any way I can help, let me know.
  9. Sorry, I can't answer your questions regarding softball, but the high school baseball team has a summer schedule that goes for about 3 weeks in June. You didn't say how your old son is, but there is a young man putting a team together for the 15 and under AAU tournament in Kingsport. DandDD and myself are working on getting some of our 15 years olds on that team. You can find my number in the book if you have any questions that I can help you with. p.s. After reading the mess on here, are you sure you want to bring your children into this back-biting snakepit? Don't get me wrong, there are some really good people here who care about the program and the school, but there are others who only care about their own personal situations, so good luck.
  10. DandDD, I know you were there, and I normally wouldn't talk about the middle school on this thread, but they did win a big conference tournament game yesterday and I wanted the Falcon faithful to be aware of it. Church Hill takes revenge on Unicoi County for last year's tourney, Panthers 8 Blue Devils 1. Jansen Bates pitched a great game and the boys swung the lumber.
  11. The Washington County tourney was rained out. Basically 2 weeks left in the season. Let's go out strong, seniors. Leave it all on the field and have a great ending to your career. Starts tomorrow night with a solid team from Sullivan South.
  12. Sorry, partner, I was away for a few minutes. Gotta get back to class.
  13. I told myself I would not respond to any more of your mess, but you are hiding behind your computer screen, taking potshots at EVERYBODY involved in AABC, or anyone who supports the high school team. You are dragging things into the public that have no reason to be said, other than so you can try to hurt people anonymously. I know who you are, and this needs to stop. If you hate us that bad, have the cojones to call us and tell us about your feelings or say them to our face. This thread is for talking about the VOLUNTEER FALCONS HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM. It will be locked soon by the moderators, so we will not be able to keep people updated.
  14. Well, why don't you identify yourself? You sure seem to know who he is. He might be lurking around and maybe he would like to say "howdy."
  15. Dude, is your only goal in life to come here and pick on a bunch of 12 and 13 year olds? So sad. Why don't you go on over to the Sullivan South thread and hang out.
  16. All due respect to you, but your friend AV came to our thread first, shooting off about things he had no right to. If you will look at the other DB thread, I have congratulated you guys and I sincerely hope you go as far as you can. It's about time someone from upper east Tennessee won state, and you guys have as good a shot as anyone in a LONG time. I know a couple of your guys and I am happy for their success. Way to go CJ, I know you feel like you have something to prove and I hope you hit 20 homeruns, just not any against us. One other thing, congratulations!
  17. Yeah because Volunteer couldn't have possibly played well or earned a victory or anything like that.
  18. Wow!! What a win tonight! Little man rips a bases loaded double in the bottom of the seventh to clear the bases and win the game! Film at 11! Way to battle again tonight, guys. I know you're reading this, niner, when you coming over? On another note, I hope Anthony is okay. Way to lay it on the line tonight 12. Then after he gets hurt, he comes back in to score the winner. I'm proud of all you guys and I know all TRUE Falcon fans are, too. Now let's go to Crockett and try to get us one or two tomorrow. Cool signature. Those guys are part of the next good bunch to come through. Ol' D G will have them ready.
  19. No big surprise, they're good. It'll be them and DB in a fight to the end. Best team wins. Good luck to both.
  20. Good win tonight against a tough Sullivan East team. Coty pitched very well and the defense made several good plays. Hats off to the outfield on 4 gamesaving plays. Congrats to the coaching staff. You deserve it. Now, let's get one tomorrow against our friendly rivals from Central. I have read where Coach K has them playing well at the right time, heading into the tourney. Anybody who knows him knew it would be that way. We'll have to play just as hard or harder. Big week, with 3 conference games and the Wash. County tourney. Good luck guys and keep battlin'. One last thing... GO FALCONS!!!!
  21. I'm glad you said that about players and coaches. I think everyone (players and coaches) has worked harder lately and it is paying off, not in wins, but we have played MUCH better. They don't need me to say that, but I'm still proud of them for it.
  22. Just say no to drugs, Artie. Get high on life.
  23. Alex, I'll take "Random rants that mean absolutely nothing to anyone except know-it-all chumps who graduated from one school, but continually support another for no reason" for $500, please. p.s. I don't know who "D S" is, but I do know who "L S" is. Right, Art?
