  1. Wow! That is a very potent lineup he shut down. 1 through 5 can go yard on anyone. Any more details?
  2. GLEE, you are a class act. I guess some good does come out of Carter County. Just kiddin. Thanks for all your upbeat comments/messages to our guys.
  3. Cherokeealan, Happy Valley put us out of the tournament, 11-0. We ran into a buzzsaw that night that should have won the AA state, especially if they played like they did that night. DandDD, thanks for the kind words. It's not always been smooth, but in the end, it was worth every minute. I think it's obvious, the love you have for the game and these kids. Hope you stick around in the Dugout Club, Mr. (future) President.
  4. Give us some highlights. Have seen nothing in the paper or on tv.
  5. That's a shame. HV is one of the most talented teams in the state, top to bottom. Maybe now someone will look for the weak link(s) and remove it/them. This team should have won state.
  6. If Caldwell pitches and is on, HV wins. If the coaches don't blow it.
  7. Pal, I was talking about the COACH. Besides, he did a heck of a job with that team this year. Krantz can coach baseball, bottom line, and I stand behind what I said, best coach in upper east Tennessee.
  8. Nutski, if discipline is what you want, send your son to Sullivan Central. Best coach in upper east Tennessee. He will learn more there and play on a competetive team with a great coach.
  9. Relax there, scorekeeper. Noone said HV wasn't talented. The most talent in the conference by far. Worst coaching, by far. It will show somewhere down the road. Mark my words.
  10. Wow, hard to believe it's over. What a great bunch of seniors. Dustin H, way to stick with it for 4 years. You're a good kid who will go far in life. Chris F, same goes for you. B Dub, you have a great head on your shoulders and come from a great family. You'll be successful no matter what you do. Good luck and stay in touch. Jacob, we have not always gotten along, but I have always respected your talent. You are still the best defensive 1st baseman I have ever seen at the high school level or below. And you swing a pretty mean stick. Good luck in college. Robbie S, you have probably done more with less than anyone I have ever seen. No one gave you much credit when you were younger, but you stuck with it and became the best right-handed pitcher in school history. Good luck wherever you end up pitching at next year. Brandon, congratulations on all your accolades. You have matured so much in the last 5 years and have been a fine leader. I always told your dad you have a great baseball head. Go over to Carolina and kick some @%%, Falcon style. Guys, I am proud to have played a small part in your success. You have set the bar for excellence at VH. You guys helped revive the sport in Church Hill and there are some good players behind you who have some big shoes to fill. Juniors and sophs, it don't get any easier for you next year, moving up and all. Get your tails in the weight room and work hard to carry on the success. Best of luck to all, it's been fun watching you and I'll miss you seniors. p.s. Gotta mention the great parents of the seniors. You all have raised fine sons who will make Volunteer High proud, on the field and off. Barb, outstanding job with the Dugout club. Charlie and Phyllis, you guys have always helped out in any way you could. Tod, thanks for making our home field as nice as any we played on all year. You folks are a big part of the success enjoyed by all. We'll miss you.
  11. Not sure of all the scores. Unicoi over Johnson County 14-4? Elizabethton over Central North over Hampton 6-0? Happy Valley smoked Volunteer 11-0
  12. Countryboy, where did ya'll finish?
  13. Way to go, 7. You will do well over there. You and Deuce both go over there and tell them to come back over here next year and get 'em a good 3d baseman. thumb
  14. Yeah, for about half of them, the mistake is getting out of the car.
  15. Ahh, the Game of the week. That's about all we had in the 70's.
  16. Volunteer 8 Unicoi 7 Volunteer is 6 - 7 going into the last night against Central
  17. There's no doubt E-town can beat Unicoi. I don't think any lead is safe against Elizabethton.
  18. Great win tonight, Falcons. 8-7 over Unicoi. Coach Mac told me that was the first win in their place in 9 years. Little Man with his first (of many) homer. Flem got his first as well. Tomorrow night is another big game. Win it and get on a little roll before tourney time. I'm sure Central will be ready. Saw alot of stick with it tonight, when we might have folded in the past. That's a sign of a good team. Keep it going and good luck Falcons
  19. DP, it doesn't HAVE to be the last home game. You guys could get on an incredible roll and....... well, I can always hope. If it was the last home game, DandDD had the field looking as good as it ever has. Great job.
  20. When and what time is the Central make-up game? BTW, any Falcon fans who might be reading this, come out Monday night for the season home finale and wish this excellent senior group well. Winningest group of players in school history. Get on a roll and go with it as long as it lasts. Good luck guys.
  21. Classy comment. Thanks from our guys.
  22. Volunteer just played Greeneville in the Washington County Tournament. I really liked their pitcher. Number 6, I didn't catch a name. Not real big, but threw pretty hard and had the best slider I've seen all year from the right side. He threw really well, just got a lot of bad breaks because of the weather, mostly. Who is he?
  23. One of the most talented teams in the state. Their coaches will not allow them to get very far. They will blow up at some little call that didn't go their way and the players will suffer for it. Wait and see.
  24. Right back atcha. Hope someone picks up where we leave off.
  25. That's been the story of the season. When they got the key hits, they won, when they didn't , they lost. One or two errors a game hasn't killed us, its been the lack of hitting in key situations. Baseball's a simple game, ain't it?
