Hey, I didn't have to start a thread this week! I believe Portland has a shot at winning this one. We're a lot better than in years past, and we played CA close last year, only losing 7 - 3, while they were beating everyone they played pretty bad, just like this season. In most situations, 5A should beat 1A, and I believe the improved Panthers will make that the case this week. I look for the purple and white to take this one by a score of 21 - 13.

Hixson was down 35 - 15 in the fourth quarter against Red Bank and came back to win at Red Bank. One of those scores being a 71 yd. punt return. They don't give up. Just be careful if you get up by 20 pts. They can come back and beat you. Good luck this week.

Portland was always a very small school in the past. The industrial boom hit us and this little town has grown leaps and bounds population wise. Hendersonville was always big and you used to not see the big schools play the smaller ones. Now the TSSAA has it so confusing, anyone plays anybody. Different classifications are in the same district, I mean, what's up with that? Anyway, good luck to both teams tonight, but more for the Panthers! I hope it's a good, injury free game for both.

I believe we have a good chance at beating the Commandos. The Panthers are looking better than in the past. Last week was sloppy, but we got the win. We'll need to play better this week to win, but we can do it. Go Panthers!

Looks like I'm starting off again this week. The Panthers are stepping down to play at 4A Greenbrier this week. We had a win against White House two weeks ago, , will this week result in another win for the purple and white? Two tough games with Beech and Mt. Juliet are gone and behind us now. What does it look like for the rest of the season for Portland? Looking forward to your comments.
