  1. I agree, the umpire behind the plate wasn't that great either. But no matter what fans u talk to, they are gonna have something negative about a call during their game...and if they don't then u know something is up then. The umpire can't make the right call everytime, there are to many close and questionable calls. But i think that everyone at the game knows that alot more calls went wartburg's way, but all that matters now is what the scoreboard said at the end of the game...no more from me i'm outtie.
  2. well it doesn't matter who the umpires are....with oneida being in a district where they are the only team from scott county, then they shouldn't be excepting good calls. It was a poor job on the umpires behalf last night at oneida, but it's something that the indians can't let get them down.....it's over, there is nothin they can do about it..let it be.
  3. I would have to agree with Oneida. They have 7 senior which all have seen the starting lineup numerous times this year and will be losing their exchange student from germany. And not to mention only returning one junior next year. It will be interesting to see what they become with talented underclassmen.
  4. Go Indians!! We played a great ball club last night and came out with the win. This game was a most win for us and we knew it. We had a great scouting report and have two very good practices and was just all around prepared for what Wartburg threw at us. As for the player injury, I came away with only a few bruised ribs. Hopefully monday's practice will do me good and I will be ready to go for our district game with Coalfield tuesday.
  5. I have seen hackler play. He is very impressive for someone who is as young as he is. And i have no clue who this transfer from powell is? But he will have to be something else to campare with post like Timmy from Cosby and Orick from Oneida. Blakely is just a pure athlete, not doubt about it, and Orick is a workhorse...a smart one at that.
  6. Pugs, I am that crabtree that you heard about. My name is Ben Crabtree. I am number #12 this year for the indians and was #5 last year as a junior. I run the point mostly and somtimes the 2 spot. Thanks Tater_Hole for your great revealing of Mark and myself. You are greatly appreciated (not really).
  7. Pugs, good point about not being able to run if u don't get the rebound or have it go through the net. I know i have already said this but i'm tryin to dis Wartburg. But i'm just not understanding y we aren't gettin any credit on this post if it is all "oneida fans and players" posting. I have yet to beat them in my high school career, and I know me and all the seniors are detemind not to let this year be like the past. And i know there is still a Vespie, but this is the first year that one has had to work solo. And as for Oneida's player being on here instead of playing ball or something....I just got home from practice. We had a ful evening of weightlifting and a 2 hour practice. I love to get on here to see what people often think of us because not only can it sometimes be humorous it can also be motovational.
  8. Name nine deep! I know of a few guards they have that are a big threat, but I can't think of any big mean? Not knocking Wartburg or anything...but Oneida just has more athletic players that they can go to if in need. And these preseason games don't mean anything. How a team performs right now has nothing to do with what they will be in the regular season. Teams are just now hittin the gyms hard and all teams are far from gettin to their peak. So until i see that Wartburg has a better and deeper bench i wouldn't doubt seeing them focusing on tryin to run with us.
  9. Pugs, you are right. Hancock always has a respectable team and are always a great comp for us. But this season should be different then the past few and maybe it will be us putting them out of a spot at state. And as for who i am...i am one of the many oneida seniors. And the name....It's a nickname gave to me because i look very similar to Squeaks from the movie Baseketball..But the nickname was given to me awhile back so....
  10. Just because something was said about havin 20 wins doesn't mean that it is our only goal for the season...Everyday we are told to look up on the wall and tell what is missing. And we always say "a state championship banner". i don't think there is one team with just one goal...they usually have alot that they want to accomplish. And i'm sure that Ro wasn't meaning that winning more games every season is our main focus.
  11. We are looking good guys! Even with just a week or two of practice we have been gettin back into the feel of things. And even with the football players still on the field we have done our best without them. And we appreciate u thinkin of us as a hardworking team, that is something that we try very hard at. as for players: We have seven returning juniors ( who all got to see playin time last year). And one or two that did not play last year. We did loose one junior in louis armstrong which was inelligable to play this year (he will be greatly missed). We also have a new big guy that is really talented but still has alittle bit of learning when coming to court smarts. And one of the hardest workin players i have ever seen in benji jacobs. I think that once we get the football players in the mix and get to playing the ball that we are capable of then we will be right where we want We have played ball together since we were just little and it shouldn't take no time to get in our "groove"
  12. I know of oneid having a free throw comp between the players. Their leader right now is their new german player....i think the most he has hit in a row is 69 or 70...not bad if u ask me...but like you said, it's not a game...this is scrimages and shoot arounds...
  13. Oneida has a freshman class comin that is bigger than usual. I believe they have only four or five from oneida. But they have four of robbin's starters from last year. And then a few that have came from outta state. The only problem they will have is playin as a team after they have play AGAINST each other all through middle school.
  14. Everyone knows that Rockwood will miss their seniors from last year....but i can recall a few underclassmen havin big games last year....Like always, Rockwood will be well coached, and without a doubt, have a winnin season. Rockwood and their district will be an exciting one to watch!
  15. Oneida will be the team that no one is for sure about .....but come time for their big district and region games they will show everyone where they sit this year. They have a few big games early in the season so we will know soon enough.
