  1. LOL, yeah. It was at it's worst about 5 years ago..I won't mention any names (yes I will), but T.J. Sax from SP spraypainted the cheerleader's names outside MCHS. I'm sure MC students have done stuff just as bad. I know there was an incident that had to do with killing grass on both fields..I think it's acceptable to do temporary things, like ribbon paper, or whatever, but vandalism is uncalled for. Not only does it cross the line, it breaks the law. I think fans on both sides should show a little more decency...After all, it's just a football game and bragging rights. It's just sad that there's fist fights over that. This rivalry has even been known to split up families..Sad stuff. More to come AC
  2. Losing to marion is 1 problem SP won't have. We'll see about that. Just show up ready to play. If you don't, you're beat, I don't care who the team is. Just ask Tyner, they thought it was going to be a walk from start to finish...Then Marion scored 6 before Tyner knew what hit them...After they realized what they were dealing with, they started playing football. At that point, everyone knew Marion was out, but if Tyner would've played on the same level they started out with, Marion would've taken that game like a storm.
  3. The horn is no longer used..And I'm almost certain it's retired. It may have been obnoxious to you, because the sound of that horn meant you were farther and farther away from victory...The horn signified an MC touchdown, and wasn't used as a distraction or for advantage..So I can see how it was obnoxious to MC's opponent...It's just obnoxious to have a touchdown rubbed in after it happened. AC
  4. You're right, Marion County High School is the high school in Jasper..Whitwell High School is in Whitwell, and South Pittsburg High School is in South Pittsburg,...However, the side of the building for Jasper's High School does not say "Jasper High School." It says "Marion County High School". Just because it's located in Jasper doesn't mean it's Jasper High School. If that were the case, then Chattanooga State and UTC would just be "Chattanooga College." Central, East Ridge, Branierd, Taft, and so on would be Chattanooga High School...I think you get the point by now, if not, then stop reading...I'm not to take shots at you, I'm just making a point. AC
  5. The topic starter is a double-decker douche. First of all, Marion County is not the Cougars, it's the Warriors. Second of all, Meigs county will be beat by Marion county. Third of all, Polk has already been beat by Marion County. So, given that if Meigs is beat by Marion, and Polk has already been beat by Marion, wouldn't that make them 2nd in Region 3 2A?
  6. Marion County vs. SP is possibly the biggest rival in the valley..possibly in this part of the state. Marion isn't as talented as SP, but they play on a level that's realistic. SP better show up ready to play, 'cuz Marion will. They know what it will take to beat SP, and they will try their hardest to do so. I wouldn't be surprised if SP won, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they lost. I just hope it isn't going to be as rough as it has been in the past with pre-game activities! (I.E. spray paint, grass killer, pulling goal posts down). It should never be to the point where it interferes with local laws, but hopefully it won't come to that. Good luck to both teams, and I wish them the best. AC
  7. If Marion plays like they did against Grundy, and SP plays like they did against Boyd, SP will end up behind when the clock runs out. SP laid right down in the 4th quarter, and that's when Marion gets their hottest. Anything can happen on any given night, so I say once again, SP, show up ready to play. If it's embarrassing to lose to Whitwell, then it'll be much more embarrassing to lose to the team that lost to Whitwell. AC
  8. SP may be able to go through Jasper like a dose of salts..(what?), but they won't do the same to Marion County (by the way, that's the name). Once again, show up ready to play.
  9. no disrespect was intended by my earlier post. I gave credit to the Grundy boys but they better start playing together or the next three games and the playoffs will be over before they get started. I agree. It's like I said, if they ever showed up on the right night, they'd win that game by 4 touchdowns..no matter who they played.
  10. I disagree. Boyd may come out on top again, but it will be a close game. So. Pitt. has a very talented team, they just have a problem generating outside of their comfort zone. If they do the same this week against Marion, then they'll have a hard time winning that one. Go ahead and laugh it up Pittsburg, but football isn't won by how many players you have on the sidelines. If you come into MC thinking you've already won, think again. You've got a long way to go.
  11. I think I'm going to back Del on this one. Why would he renegotiate coaching contracts? You didn't ask any of the coaches from Polk or Sequatchie if they were going to do the same. You just don't leave a team because they aren't winning games. Grundy was outplayed in one game. It's not the end of the season. Grundy has a good team with a lot of heart. If they would show up on the right night, they'd be unstoppable. You might want to watch yourself...Del is probably going to come up with a post that you'll be too embarrassed to think about reading. Your boys did a great job Del. They played hard, and I was impressed with both sides. Tell your boys that Marion thought your guys had a huge amount of class, discipline, and sportsmanship. Good luck for the rest of the season. From Marion County, AC
  12. Hey man, you're over two days late with your prediction. Final score: 21-16 Marion. Go Warriors. AC
  13. Yes, on paper, Grundy should have won this game..But if that's the way it goes, then Steinbrenner's Yankees should win the World Series every year, because with everyone he has, he would be the first team to ever go undefeated in baseball...That is, because he wins every game on paper. The players have to play the game, not the stats that are on the paper. AC
  14. Marion 21 Grundy 16 Once again, Marion hasn't lost at home, and Colquette has not beat Marion at Marion. Anyone else care to under-estimate Marion? Give it your best shot, the Jackets just got out-played.
  15. Well, just a few hours 'til game time. Any more predicitons?
  16. That's a good point, Del. As for why I don't play, I never played in Middle School. I wanted to, but my mom was a big athlete in Highschool. She now walks on two knees with no ACL MCL or Meniscus..It's just bone on bone. She doesn't want me to have to go through that. She always told me if I got hurt while I was still growing, it might affect me for the rest of my life. I did play baseball in middle school, and I've played golf all throughout highschool. So, basically, I never played football because my mom wouldn't stand for it. It sounds pretty wimpy, but that's the way it is. I'd love to get out there and play. I know I'd be good on the offensive line, but I just never had the basics of middle school. I always figured it would be a waste of time if I tried to play without knowing what I was doing. Now that I know I could play, I regret not doing it.
  17. Marion 152 said it all. And Grundy Jacket, we don't need luck..Send us some players! That's the main problem, our boys on the field don't have backups on the sideline. The majority of the players who start the game play on both sides of the ball and play the whole game. I heard that only 21 of the football players came to the next practice after the Whitwell game. We have more people show up for backyard football on Saturdays. I really partly blame myself. I'm 6'0 250 lbs, and I'm not on the field. I really partly blame myself and all of my friends that show up on Saturdays. If all of those guys strapped on the pads, Marion would be 4-0 right now. Okay, maybe not 4-0 but at least 3-1 (Tyner).
  18. Thank you RLH, you are the man. However, Del does have a sense of humor. It's hilarious to see his posts when he's ripping on someone. You should check a few of those out...And by the way, it's a good idea to not have any drink of any sort in your hand when reading them. You'll end up spilling it on you.
  19. It's just now becoming a personal attack? Trust me, captain, it's been a personal attack since my first post. By the way, I'm certain Hendrix and Vaughan (Not Vaughn, I got it) probably made more money off of their first album than you'll probably ever get a chance to see. Hendrix changed the face of rock 'n roll forever..So, someone who engineers software is more successful than that? But hey man, it's not any different with you than it is with anybody else. I'm actually happy for you. It could be worse...You could be a burden on society by not working at all. I thank you that you're not. And as far as me aspiring to be Stevie Ray or Jimi, that's right, I do aspire to be like both of them. And trust me, if it ever catches a break, then I'll probably own a software company, not just work for one. More to come, I'm sure. Cheers.
  20. Kicked out for mentioning underage drinking? This is an arguement about class in which I made a reference to a guy that thought he might win. Just thought I'd add that in there. I mean, if you stop me from posting, then I understand you're doing your job, and I'll go about my business. I just wanted to make sure you saw my reason for saying what I said. Take it easy. (By the way, I didn't know politics was such a 'savage' subject. I didn't read anything in the terms of service that stated politics were off limits. Maybe you, or someone in authority on CoachT should clear that up.)
  21. I can't believe it, some idiot took the time to post "you guys find the dumbest things to argue about." I got an idea..Get your mom to pour your beer in the spill-less cup with the BIG handle, and take it easy.
  22. RLH I'm beginning to think you have OCD. I answered your question in another thread..yet, you ask the same question in a completely different thread. I don't understand this action, so I'll go ahead and answer your question again. I assume it was some sort of animal pen before the 1970's. I know that all of MCHS sits on what used to be farmland. That explains the silo outside our gym. And once again, thank you for recognizing what SRV means..Only, there's just one problem...It's Vaughan and not Vaughn, either way, you gain my respect.
  23. Man, you know, I'm not too sure, but I think in my last post I said STADIUM and not FIELD. Yeah, actually, I didn't say anything about the field. The stadium and field are two seperate things. They may have good looking grass...They're stadium is still crap..At least compared to a lot of the other stadiums in the state. There's really nobody in this region with a Grade A+ stadium. None of these schools have the money.
  24. Now this dude's got it down. It's cool that you know what SRV stands for, you have my admiration. And as for the field being a pig pen or cow pasture..I'm sure it probably was. I know that all of the land MCHS sits on used to be farm land at one point..That's why we have a silo outside the gym. By the way, I never said we had a great stadium. Boyd and SP, however, said they both did. And it's just not that way.
