  1. I agree with you that club teams do produce, but I don't agree that ODP actually produces. Club teams develop players and make them stronger, while ODP takes the best of them and further exposes them to colleges. By experiencing the TN ODP program, I didn't learn anything as I did with club teams. I just got to scrimmage against better teams.

  2. too bad we had to play a private school in the sectional because every call goes against a pubic school in these games

I don't know where you are from, but where I live, the refs would love to see a private school lose. When I played, we never got the benefit of the doubt. It's something we got used to and continued to play just as hard.

  3. GPS completely dominated the 1st half, but JPII came out hard the 2nd half for the win. The way GPS was playing, I think they would've won if they would've gotten a goal in the 1st half. The would've been more pumped up. Both played well.

  4. You are right. Is 2001 the year there were no seniors on the team?

Baylor has its hands full on Wednesday with Father Ryan. Wish I could go. It will be a great first round game.

DII seems to be a little more wide open this year. It should be a great tournament.

That is correct, Baylor had no seniors in 2001 after losing 6 senior starters. When Baylor won lat year (2004), they lost 5 senior starters and only had one senior that actually started. Jimmy Weekley can do wonders with a team, even if they aren't as experienced as other teams.

  5. Being a former Baylor Varsity player, I can tell you that no one ever thought it was "our year," especially after we won in 2001. Each year people say "Oh, they can't do it again," but we proved people wrong. Baylor is known for doing well in the state tournament, despite what people believe is going to happen. Again, this isn't Baylor's "year," but I think that they will pull it together and carry on the tradition that we left for them.

  6. The only reason I don't put Baylor at tops is because they haven't done anything serious enough yet. They could easily be later in the season. The main reason Notre Dame is #1 is because look at the last tournamet they went to. ALL SHUTOUTS! We'll just have to see as the season progresses who is gonna take number 1.

  7. THE DELUGE

All this talk about DII and no one has mentioned BGA. I figure the team that beat Hendersonville 8-2 deserves some credit. they have already proven that they are a solid team, though they sometimes play down to their opponents. When they need to play, they have proven that they can. I think the result of their game against MUS this sunday will produce good results (for BGA).They have to be placed in the elite group of teams this year.

The only people I hear talk about BGA are the BGA people. Everybody has select players. Or atleast many of the teams that stand a good chance of winning. Another Division 2 team, Baylor, has select players (some of them out of TNFC). My team has played both your team and Baylor and trust me, I don't think your team holds a candle to them. Nobody has mentioned BGA for a reason.

  8. 1 - Notre Dame (Glu-incredible keeper plus the great lower classmen)

2 - McCallie (PJ and Rahbe)

3 - Baylor (Glover, Kedrowski, and Bach-could be higher but haven't done enough to show what they've got)

4 - McMinn Co. (Slack and Price)

5-7 - in any order CSAS, Grace, and Soddy

  9. I talked to a couple of Notre Dame players they said he was ALRIGHT. When I was first trying to talk to them about him they didn't realize who he was. All they knew that was for a while a guy named Donnie was practicing on the team.

  10. I know a few boys on the team and they say that there keeper is new as of last year but has been at school for 4 years. And for lacking a keeper, if I'm correct, the Chattanoogan.com marked him as having the least goals per game out of any keeper in the city. That includes all the teams A/AA, DII, and AAA.

  11. Ya'll have some logic. Pick people that you really actually think is going to get All-State. These are my top 2 picks from each team that made it to the finals.

    FRA- Ashley Price, Marissa Yenni

    CCS- Brittany Lee, Heather Trimiew

    Houston- Danielle McMurray, Alali Dagugo-Jack

    Farragut- Katie Green, Emily Beuerlein

Father Ryan- Carrie Smith, Lauren Purcell

    Baylor- Jennifer Clemmer, Paige Lanter

  12. Patagonia,

Using your twisted logic - then JPII should win State...

    Baylor lost to Centennial 3-1

    JPII tied Centennial 1-1

    Baylor tied GPS 1-1

    JPII beat GPS 3-0

    Baylor tied ECS 0-0

    JPII beat ECS 3-0

Now you know as well as I do you cannot compare previous games or early season games to determine outcomes of playoff games.  Now comparing the above games you would think that JPII would walk away from Baylor.  We both know that is very unlikely.  Injuries have decimated the JPII team.  I have not seen Baylor this year.  Baylor is always a great team.  I have seen Father Ryan several times.  They dominated Hendersonville, JPII, and several other traditionally powerful Nashville area schools.  If Baylor wants to go into the match thinking they will walk on Ryan like earlier in the year...then go ahead... I believe that would be a huge mistake.  It pains my heart to give kudos to Ryan... However, I have to call them like I see them and Ryan is the absolute best team I have seen this year in all classes and divisions to include Franklin, Brentwood, Farragut, Hendersonville, JPII, Centennial, etc.. etc..

Good Luck to all participants... It will be a great tournament...
