  1. Surprised this thread isn't filled with some trash talk from those Puds... and your right, its about time Big Red struck first, thats classic... this game will be a devastation... we'll get a typical rowdy crowd from both sides, with Central running their mouthes nonstop til the last tick... just like in baseball and every other sport... maybe this year they've accepted the fact they'll get beat... every single time the boys from Ooltewah step on the field to play them in any sport... Good luck to my boys... keep nailin them field goals, # 99... and Marshall is the real deal, can't believe he's only a sophomore and is already a premier back in the city...
  2. Good clutch victories by the Lady Owls against Farragut and ND... they had some present motivation @ the Farragut game ... wonder who that could've been. But all in all, these girls have what it takes to get the job done this year. With Watson and Howell still around taking control of the offense, with the help of Morgan Shelton, this year will be a good opportunity to show what they've got... beware of that # 20 girl... she'll take ya out...
  3. What a game... yes, Ooltewah had a fairly large lead at the half, but I tip my cap to the Cavs. Fought hard and stuck to it... defense looked like they got a little winded towards the end, but props to # 15, Matt Lowe. He was in on some key plays and batted down some nearly interceptable passes... next shoutout goes to #99, Jeremy Williams. Known strictly as a goalkeeper for the soccer team, the Bus, as he's referred to on a regular basis, played his first football game of his life tonight and was perfect on his extra point attempts, not too mention a pretty decent kickoff there in the second half, gotta love the red socks, too... thumb Headin home to Kentucky pleased to see my Owls pulled out a victory...
  4. OwlsGK30-- Thanks man, things are going alright, can't wait to catch ya at the game tomorrow night... good luck... expecting a field goal dedication! Grad-- I do believe I have your # in my phone and will either see you tomorrow night, or give ya a ring... talked to the coach yesterday and got the full story on how he knows him... sounds like a great guy and very interested to see what the STUD has to offer... in case you were wondering thumb Anyway, I'm really looking forward to catching this game tomorrow night. Excited to see what Gaston brings to the table for the Owls running game. Wouldn't doubt if Caldwell and him were the best running combination in the city. As mentioned before in many earlier posts, the sophomore players of the 03 season are now seniors, and have the right amount of experience needed in order to get the job done. Guys like Woods, Lowe, Burke, etc. will indeed step up this year as leaders to make it loud and clear the Owls mean business. All in all, from what I've read it seems like both teams are evenly matched, so as the phrase goes, ANY GIVEN DAY, and given team can win a ball game... hopefully, my boys from Hooterville come out on top, so I don't have to drive back to Kentucky being disappointed
  5. I definitely agree that the ladies from Hooterville have a strong season ahead of them. After battling back from a few losses early in the year last season, I think they made a name for themselves by making an appearance in the state tourney. Returning a few strong seniors, including Missy Howell and the always threatening Jessie Watson, along with a core group of sophomores (include Morgan Shelton and Katie Finkle) that will help lead this team to a succesful 2005 soccer season.
  6. Hey Grad.... former Owls "Stud" reporting from Kentucky... the coach here knows of # 32 from Ooltewah, how he does, I don't know... very interesting story that I'll have to share with you... anyway, good luck to my boys back in Hooterville, coming home next weekend to hopefully catch the game...
  7. The Owls from Hooterville are pumped for the district tournament which begins tonight, 7 o'clock, in Trojan Country. What provides more motivation for Ooltewah is the fact that, given that we take out Red Bank, the Owls will most likely play Soddy Daisy for the district championship. In a hard fought, losing effort on Friday night, the Owls are looking to build off of that and look for some revenge, and hopefully will get a chance to prove themselves when it really counts. REPPIN HOOTERVILLE MY BOYS WALLY, SPENCE, LOWE, BUS, DT
  8. I doubt the word replacement system came into effect here, stayNskool
  9. Whoa, I just noticed that I definitely did not post that. Which one of you soccer players got on my name? LOL....
  10. Poophead? Are you serious? How old are you kid? WALLY WILL WRECK YOU, SON!!
  11. Well, I'm glad to say my boys from Hooterville have stepped it up here towards the end of the season and hopefully with a win over Soddy they'll be able to host the districts next week. The Tyrannic Trio of Michael Spence, Matt Lowe, and Matt Walczak (AKA WALLY) will definitely be pumped and ready to knock some heads off tomorrow night. THE BUS is more like a BRICK WALL if you ask me, LOL, and is having a phenomenal year in between the goalposts and will be psyched for this one as well. Will be looking for a good performance from freshmen phenom DANIEL TACKLING, the leading scorer for the Owls this season. Hopefully we can count on some good support from the Owl Nation as we head into Trojan Country... YOU KNOW I'M THERE!!
  12. This, I do agree with... in any sport, on any given day, any team can win... except maybe Brainerd but I'll be interested to see who the Lions toss against us on Saturday.
  13. The Owls saw Brandon Ward when he relieved Tyler Henry after he got shelled... short left handed kid who threw 95% of his pitches as deuces, if I'm not mistaken, and the score of that game was... 12-0. Face it, Red Bank doesn't have the pitching depth to get past both Soddy and Ooltewah. Hats off to Soddy Daisy for their top ten ranking by TBCA.org last week. To me, their the definition of a baseball team: 9 guys working as 1 just to get after it and get the job done, and it sure seems to work for them. Good luck to everybody this weekend... I can guarantee at least ONE team from Distict 6AAA will represent Chattanooga in Memphis.... and judging by my username, that can tell ya who I think it'll be.
  14. Whichever path we choose to take in this tournament, our pitching staff will lead the way. All roads that lead to the Owls for other teams cannot avoid it. Nic Robinson has been been by far the most consistent and dominant pitcher on the staff, which backs up his selection to the All-Distrct 6AAA Team, along with Blake McDade, Zack Woods, Brad Loy, and Ryan Jones. Should be a great, competitive tournament and I'm interested to see which teams decide to step it up in the clutch.
  15. Keepers...miller, Williams, Sanchez Gamble, Bach, Nouri, Johnson, Storm, D. Tackling
  16. Not too sure how Halls put out their lineup, but Coach Wingate definitely recognized the fact we were playing their JV, and started some players who don't normally start. The lineup did include Jones, Burke, etc. but wow, its baseball, if anything as a JV player, it gives them a taste of what the varsity competition is like. Chill out, you came to Chattanooga and played a great tournament, advanced to the semi-final game, and left with your head held high.
  17. The best team in the city of Chattanooga has got to be Soddy Daisy, hands down. Everything is clicking for them, all the right times. Won a tough district in 6AAA. Good luck to them in the rest of the season. Might even see them tomorrow in a championship game of the Trojan Classic, thats if we get past Knox Halls... if not, may see them in a district championship game
  18. Yeah, I like how Central people are calling us gay, we deeply apologize for being ranked third in the state. If it weren't for Brainerd, Central would go 0-8 in our district. Just statin the facts....
  19. Good job, Marion County.... beat a pretty decent East Ridge team... wish the best of luck to them. Ooltewah finished out the second game with a score of 15-0 against Brainerd after beating them 25-0 in the first game.... hopefully pushover games such as these will have no effect on us when we travel to Ringgold tomorrow
  20. What everyone must realize is that Chattanooga brings a good brand of baseball to the state of Tennessee. With all these well rounded teams, anybody can beat somebody else on any given day. Red Bank loses to WV, 11-1, with Henry pitching, but Ooltewah beats WV, 11-1.... whose to say Ooltewah would beat Red Bank based on those scores? Red Bank is a solid team, but unfortunately they don't deserve much bragging rights after losing 3 of their last 4.
  21. Yeah he hit a shot alright, a one hopper to left center field, bouncing off the fence....
  22. Not sure about that Norton guy... but when we opened up against Cookeville, they had a guy named Turner behind the plate and he made one of the most athletic plays I've ever seen by diving to snag a bunt in front of the plate, and popping up to nail the runner at second. He mashes the ball from what I saw, too. We'll get another look at him this Wednesday in Cav Country.
  23. Ooltewah's staff was impressive this tournament.... Joe Young scattered a measly 2 hits in game one against N. Jackson, John Howard giving up a grand total of 4, and striking out 10 against Central. Kyler Burke giving up 1 hit, and reached 89 miles an hour on the gun, consistently throwing 85-87 against Walker Valley, and Justin Higdon giving up three hits against Notre Dame in the final. ImaOWL and Grad, where's the weekend summary on the websites? CHOP, CHOP, get movin....
  24. It was 30 degrees in Red Bank during yesterday's ball games? It was quite overcast, but wasn't below freezing.... a loss is a loss, take it for what it is. This topic is stupid to begin with.... I like what catsbakr said, the long journey ahead of the teams that are fortunate enough to make the trip to Memphis is what makes the experience that much better.
  25. Who impressed you this weekend while playing in the Hixson Wildcat Classic? Any particular bright spots worth pointing out?
