  1. I wouldn't underestimate the arms of the Owls....Woods, Coburn (seniors) and promising juniors Pepping and Geren will make to be a pretty good staff...will Zach Smith get innings on the mound or does he no longer pitch? Who else do the Owls have to throw?
  2. I'm sure Cody Owen will play college ball somewhere and Sean Sanders could as well, with consideration to football. An incredible amount of seniors this year... hopefully the guys who have come up through the years have gained enough experience to lead the Owls to a successful 2007 season (Woods, Williams, Crowe, etc).
  3. FLY HIGH OWL NATION Ooltewah's got the speed, the size, and the depth... pull it together boys and put it all into one aspect. Returning players from last year's team should be hungry for this game. Did Sterling (I think that's his name, Farragut's RB) graduate last year?
  4. GO GET EM OWLS!!!! BUS, DT, M-LOWE, SPENCE, WALLY... bring home a win!
  5. Ah congrats to my boys back in Ooltewah, glad to see yall wrapped a district title with hopefully more wins on the way. A very successful year for the Owls. Encouraged to see some of the younger guys contributing (Reason, Jones, and of course, Daniel Tackling) while some of the older guys are still pulling the weight (Spence, Lowe). Keep it up guys.
  6. Haven't they already faced each other? Remind me, what was the outcome of that game? Don't try to retract your statement either, because even if you mentioned just Henry and Ward you described Red Bank as being a "strong pitching team".
  7. Well congrats to Central, it's obviously a bit of a shock that they would be the ones to shatter Ooltewah's undefeated record, but hey when credit is due, I'll give it to em. Whats the news on my ol buddy Markum?
  8. Hunter Hydas- Lee University John Howard- Walters State CC Zack Woods (one of the best hitters, if not the best, in Chattanooga) and Tim Markum (great defensive catcher, tremendous power) from Ooltewah.
  9. Central, in regards to ability, has indeed gotten better... I only wish nothing but luck to them, however, I'm interested to see what mentality their new coach enforces... I think Houghton let a few too many things slide during his tenure as coach.
  10. I most definitely think so. The mentality enforced at Chattanooga Central has been and always will be a positive one.... that's if you're aiming to talk trash and be posed as ignorant all the time. Ryder Atkins is your most respectable ball player.
  11. Dobyns Bennett is in Kingsport last time I checked... could be wrong, but because I'm not, it's definitely in Kingsport.
  12. Any average joe could've told you that soccer isn't the only thing that'll get you a scholarship, however, grades are the most crucial when under the consideration of a D3 school.... Emilio, I know for a fact, was frustrated at Grace and now after breaking in at Ooltewah, he has the support of his fellow teammates as well as he having support for them.
  13. Guess we'll find out pretty soon here whether or not Emilio will have an impact on Ooltewah's season, now won't we? It's fairly contradictory to call him "garbage" when a few D1 and several D2 schools are already giving him looks.... I'm not here to hype Sanchez up, I've seen the kid play, I know his full potential.... just stating the facts.
  14. Look what you're comparing him to... the likes of McCallie and Baylor.... possibly the two top notch schools in the area.I'm well aware of the relevance and you're points are valid. Size does indeed matter, however, it doesn't effect what anyone can do on the field. I can be a 5 foot 2 goalie with a 32 inch vertical jump and be successful. Stats are stats, the kid scored 12 goals (or close to it, somewhere in that area, big deal) and how exactly did he score those? As I mentioned in my previous post, he somehow maneuvered his way through the loaded defenses of PJP, Blackman, and Farragut to score.... if and WHEN Ooltewah wins the district, a lot of credit will be shoved towards DT.
  15. It is ridiculous to blame the ability of a coach on the outcome of you're season, when it was the ability, or lack thereof, of the players that entirely put Ooltewah's season to shame. Just about every one of you is my friend, so there is no offense to be taken from this... it is VITAL to you're success that the seniors come together to make this team work as a whole, with the aide of other underclassmen following you're example..
  16. Emilio Sanchez & Craig Golden from Ooltewah...
  17. First off, Feagens doesn't even play anymore.... he's off smokin Camels in the parking lot... Second of all, splash9, it's almost humorous for you to say that Daniel Tackling doesn't belong in the elite group of Chattanooga area players. Although he may not be the biggest guy in the world, he makes up for it in his speed and overall awareness of the game. Tackling wove in and out of defensive regimes to put up 12 goals last year for an Ooltewah Owls team that competed in a very difficult district, not to mention having a fairly hard schedule. This year, it is expected that along with Emilio Sanchez (who I also consider a premier player in the area), Tackling will head an offensive attack that will be twice as effective as it was last year. Lastly, my friend splash9, don't throw stones in glass houses... I can only assume you're a local player as well, so before you point someone else's shortcomings (that have absolutely no effect on his game), you might want to evaluate your own.
  18. I actually agree with whoever said that losing both Higdon and Robinson will effect the Owls staff more than we may actually think. However, sometimes looking at the facts is just the way to do it. Guys like Z Woods, KB, Markum, John Howard have been there for four years, and each year Ooltewah had a chance to do something beyond the district tournament, always peaked at the wrong time, and made nothing of the opportunity. This year, as seniors, the opportunity will once again be in the cards and hopefully the right hand will be dealt for the Owls.
  19. I didn't want to give away he was injured... moron The phrase "on the sidelines til opening day" specifically clarified that... By the way, is this Powell kid the real deal? Heard a lot of hype about him coming out of middle school and the possibility of bumpin someone from a starting spot..
  20. A fairly well played defensive game from what I've been told... Blair sat out some of the starters (Lowe, Tackling & Bro, Golden) not to mention Sanchez on the sidelines til opening day....
  21. Well, as proven his freshmen year at Grace, Emilio is an offensive threat. With guys like Spence and Lowe protecting him up front with Tackling at his side, putting the ball in the back of the net will hopefully not be an issue the Owls have this season.
  22. Ooltewah should hold their own this year.... Bus back in between the goal posts, and a likely candidate for best goalie in the city and with the addition of the Cuban kid, wouldn't be surprised if some more lamps are lighted this year. As long as Gary Tackling isn't scoring goals for the other team, everything should be juuuuust fine.
  23. Without (Carlos) Sanchez between the posts, and some other key players that graduated that I might be unaware of, Grace might have a difficult time this year with some of the other area public schools of higher classifcation.
  24. They also return the most likely candidate for best goalie in the city... Jeremy Williams... and along with Golden, a tough defensive competitor in Matt "Wally" Walczak. Matt Lowe, Michael Spence, and Luke Gawthrope will also be up front with Little Tackling. Sanchez is indeed a good player and I agree that'll come down to his mental side of the game on how successful he is this year, because other than that, the kid's got the skills to take it to the next level.
